History

The Medical Towers Building was built in 1954, winning the Progressive Architect Award in the same year. Gordon Bunshaft of Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill designed this venue, drawing inspiration from New York City’s famous Lever House. The Westin Houston Medical Center conference and meeting facilities are homed on the 5th floor of the mid-Century, award-winning, historically listed tower. The building has been restored to preserve its rich architectural legacy with an eye to the future.
