5 stars for our wedding ceremony

5 STARS. To our officiating priest Father Agi, our coordinator Arianna, and our music director Steven: Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. They were not only incredibly professional, responsive, and creative - they helped us celebrate and capture our dream wedding at this beautiful church!

We cannot thank The Immaculata enough: they worked with us, they were flexible, they were understanding, and they KNOW what they are doing. We look forward to visiting and attending mass in the future :)

We knew that we wanted to get married at the Immaculata, and it was worth it. Julie, the church wedding coordinator was so helpful and nice. She answered all of our questions. The church is beautiful. And since it is a church, there are a lot of rules to maintain the solemnity of the wedding ceremony.
We had to reserve the church over a year in advance, and it is a bit pricey, but the wedding ceremony is the heart of a wedding, so it was worth it to us.

The Immaculata is a BEAUTIFUL Church! The staff (especially Julie/Katie) are very helpful in preparing for your wedding and then on the day of. I would highly recommend using them for your wedding.

I had my wedding ceremony held at the Immaculata Parish and it was perfect. The weather couldn't be any better and taking pictures in front of the fountain turned out to be very beautiful. The decor inside the church was amazing, especially when the sun shined through the stained windows. Although, I had to be on a waiting list for a year to reserve this church, it was well-worth it.

The Immaculata Parish is beautiful. They're several guidelines you need to follow in order to have your ceremony there. However, Julie made it easy by providing a detailed marriage timeline, checklist, and an information packet. She was friendly, professional, & accommodating. Julie conducted the ceremony rehearsal and was there on our wedding day to ensure everything went off without a hitch. Our ceremony was magical! It is pretty pricey compared to other San Diego Parishes. However, it is worth it because you are able to utilize the gorgeous grounds for pictures. Our photographer captured some amazing timeless shots!

The Immaculata Parish is gorgeous. The interior follows the format of a gothic cathedral with one main aisle and two side aisles to make the building form the shape of a large cross but there is no sense of medieval darkness and mystery here. Pale blue/green and orange/pink marble floors add wonderful color. The white side arches above the multiple side altars and the gold and blue ornamental ceiling give a sense of space and airiness. Numerous stained glass windows let in multi-colored light. The altar sits beneath a striking white dome. The exterior is impressive - pure white carvings with a huge sky blue dome capped with a statue of Mary that can be seen for miles. Fountains in front of the main doors offer a charming backdrop for pictures. Many places to take photos on the grounds of the University of San Diego where all the buildings are done in Spanish-inspired architecture. Clearly, it was the beauty of this venue that motivated my husband and I to schedule our wedding here.

Service is excellent. Julie Dudziak is the wedding coordinator. She was professional, efficient and kind. She responded promptly to my inquiries and gave me all the information I needed. The Immaculata only has weddings on Saturdays at either 11am, 2pm or 6pm. Rehearsals are always Friday night at either 4, 5 or 6. Julie is very good at coordinating the multiple weddings and I never felt rushed or ignored.

The music is beautiful - the parish musician Mr. Oberoi has a beautiful voice and can play piano or organ depending on your desires. However, they aren't that flexible on music choices - it is highly encouraged you choose from a CD of pre-approved wedding music. Outside musicians must be approved and there is absolutely no recorded music. All vendors have to sign contracts saying they will respect the sanctity of the church. This wasn't too much of a problem with our photog as long as he stayed off the altar. They do not allow your flower girls to throw petals on the marble so this forced us to be creative which actually turned out very nicely.

Obviously, you must be Catholic to be married here but you do not have to be a parishioner - I really appreciated this! We were able to have our priest marry us in the venue we totally loved. You do have to make sure you submit the correct diocesan paperwork though which means certificate of completion of pre-Cana, wedding encounter weekend and preparatory sessions with your priest.

Overall, for what you receive the cost of the venue is an amazing value.

It's so gorgeous here, it's worth the wait list. There were people gathered outside for mass by the time our ceremony ended, which was a little awkward for all the pictures we wanted to take, but again, totally worth it.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
