History

The venue’s namesake, Cornelia Hutton Hazelhurst, inherited this property from her grandfather, who originally purchased the home in 1869. Mrs. Hazelhurst was known throughout the town of McDonough for her kind spirit and generosity. She enjoyed entertaining and welcomed the opportunity to host many of the area’s social events and parties. The property was purchased from the Hutton/Hazlehurst family in the 1990s. Since then, a number of renovations have taken place in order to restore many of the mansion’s original architectural details.
