Beautiful Summer Wedding at the Tate House!

The Tate House is undoubtedly an absolutely beautiful place to get married. As a venue it has so much to offer with a number of facilities as well as stunning grounds for photos and visiting. As a group, the coordinators and in-house team are unparalleled. We fell in love with this venue as soon as we visited. Since we were getting married in July in Georgia, we wanted to get married indoors (with A/C) but ideally in some sort of pavilion with plenty of beauty and natural light. The pavilion site on the Tate Estate was absolutely perfect for this. The first time we walked through the double doors of this space, my eyes teared up and I knew I wanted to get married there. Not to mention the gardens, terraces, fields, pond, manor, reception hall, and bridal / groom cottages! No shortage of beauty and elegance. This venue shaped the entire vision of our romantic and ethereal wedding. We also loved how many of the "vendors" are already included in-house for the Tate House. Not only was this wildly convenient, but they were all of such high quality! Our planning meetings helped us to cover and walk through all of the details with these "vendors" and it was great to knock it all out in one place. Highly recommend attending an open house at Tate if you can! It is a great way to taste food, explore decor, and an opportunity to envision how you would like your event to flow through the spaces. We also want to give a special shoutout to the wedding coordinators! Our coordinator was Melissa and she is the person who made our wedding happen. Not only was she the keeper of all plans & details leading up to the big day, but she was the all star quarterback for the day of. In our case, both Melissa and Cindy went above and beyond the call of duty. Two days before our wedding, an unusual summer storm struck North Georgia and knocked down trees and power lines all around our venue, leaving the Tate House without power. The Tate team worked around the clock to clean up any damage to their property and to do everything in their power to get the electricity back up. Day of, when we still did not have power, they worked tirelessly to make adjustments and concessions to move everything around so that we could still have our wedding, even if it looked a bit different from the original plan. Then, when the power miraculously came back on just 4 hours before start time, they scrambled once again to revert everything back to that original plan. I know that we were stressed but I cannot imagine the level of stress that they endured in order to still pull off the most beautiful, amazing, and unforgettable wedding for us. They did such an amazing job that our wedding guests had absolutely no idea that anything had gone awry to begin with. My husband and I walked out of the reception hall that night and agreed that our wedding far surpassed even our wildest dreams. It was truly the best day ever... and we have the Tate team to thank for so much of that. We loved our wedding beyond words and I cannot recommend a wedding at the Tate House enough!

The Most Beautiful Wedding Venue Ever!

Oh my, where do I even start! There's so much to say! First, there is literally no other venue as stunning and absolutely perfect as the Tate House. If you think the pictures are gorgeous, wait until you see it in real life - absolutely jaw-droppingly, stunning. The house, the mountains, the property. It's a photographers dream and my wedding pics turned out like works of art. I got married there on 3.4.23, and it was hands down a real life fairytale. Every detail, every second of the day was unreal. The staff is 10/10, the nicest people ever. From the walk throughs with Cindy, to planning the wedding with Sandra, to designing with Paul, and talking back and forth with Konda; it was the most fun 8 months of my life getting to the big day. I kept Sandra and Paul on their toes with my type A bride mentality sometimes, and they always came through. My day ran super smooth and even when we had to rearrange timelines day of Sandra and her assistant we on it. Paul literally brought my vision to life with the most classical, romantic decor ever. I had guests for weeks tell me it was the most beautiful and best wedding they have ever been to. I love BOTH ceremony sites, and the gazebo was the one I went with. Stunning! But, the pavilion rain back up plan is the most EPIC rain back up plan ever. You have to see it. The guests all loved the social hour where you get to tour the mansion. It gives them something to do while we are off taking pictures. The food was ABSOLUTELY amazing. You'll need this part since there are no tastings (except if you go to the Feb open house) you can't go wrong with the food here even if there are no tastings. My vendors who had been there before told me it's the best wedding food. They were not wrong. We had the almond parmesan chicken, southern green beans, ricotta stuffed shells, and sweet potato casserole. 10/10! My guests were literally drooling over the food. We did buffalo chicken bites and asian meatballs for social hour hors d'oeuvres. The chef's choice was salmon bites, which we didn't love and requested no seafood especially after saying we had a specific salmon allergy and a shellfish allergy in the bridal party but we couldn't choose. But, it was fine! I got the Southern Classic package, which is honestly an amazing package! The photobooth - do it! The added 30 mins-1 hour - add it! You'll need it. One thing for future brides, which I knew about and no other venue would do so it was fine. The Tate House comes with a lot of rules. Like a lot. Just read through contracts and all the paper work extensively and you'll be fine. It's a venue that's worth it. One rule I didn't know about until 30 days out, was no one under 10 in the bridal cottage before 2:30pm, which made it difficult for me to have time to get hair and make up done for my flower girl. It ended up being fine, just be ready to have to navigate through a lot of rules that can mess with logistics a bit. Even with that, I still think the Tate House is the greatest venue of all time. I wish I can do my wedding there over and over. Having everything in house was a dream with planning and it still was not cookie cutter. My decor was exactly what I wanted. The whole venue is made for the most perfect wedding. Lastly, I want to thank the whole Tate House staff for all they did. They helped pull off a huge surprise for my guest with bringing the ATL Braves mascot in, they listened to me, and they made my wedding a day I will never forget!

Beyond The Wedding of Our Dreams

I am posting this review as a recent Tate House bride, having gotten married last Saturday, 10/29/22. I can say that booking The Tate House was the best decision my husband and I made during our planning process, hands down. Every part of the process was delightful. It was truly the best night of our lives!!!
*Chef Scott outdid himself on the food, which I have received nonstop compliments on. He was honest and truly listened to our likes, dislikes, and ‘palate’ for our big day. He even accommodated my vegetarian requests and surprised me with a custom plate of eggplant and tofu for dinner. He also provided my bridesmaids and I with a delectable breakfast and lunch. There was so much delicious food. My bridesmaids and I didn’t spend a second wanting for more.
*Paul, the in-house floral designer, was fantastic. He truly understood our Art Deco Starry Night vision. When I had a small flutter of panic over design choices I’d made regarding floral elements, he replied promptly and assuaged my doubts and helped me tweak the plan encapsulate my vision. I did not feel like a cookie cutter bride or wedding. My jaw dropped when I saw the ceremony site and reception hall. Even my husband was stunned by how beautiful it was and kept noticing all the details Paul had pored over!
*Sandra, our planner, was a treasure. She made every moment worry-free. She was an expert and professional, through and through. She made me feel seen, heard, valued, and cared for. My parents and husband felt the same way.
*EVERY staff member was phenomenal to work with and I felt truly honored. I could go ON AND ON about how INCREDIBLE the entire experience was. The whole day blew me away. Not a SINGLE hiccup. Do yourself the favor and have the fairytale wedding of your dreams at The Tate House.
