You know the moment that you drive on to campus that you are in for a treat. The deciding factor for us in choosing Sweet Briar College for our ceremony and reception was that there is an Inn on campus. Therefore guests would not have to travel too far after the reception. We are using the Memorial Chapel on campus for our ceremony and Prothro Dining Room for our reception. Kim Floyd has been my primary contact for booking buildings, and she's been a pleasure to work with. My e-mails get almost immediate responses. Reserving rooms at the Inn was a breeze. Cathy Mays is in charge of catering and has been a pleasure to work with as well. Everyone has taken time to accommodate all of my requests and answer all of my questions. I'm looking forward to my wedding day.

Sweet Briar College was recently ranked the most beautiful campus in America and you'll know why as soon as you drive on campus. We used the chapel for our reception and the Florence Elston Inn for our reception. Both locations are gorgeous. We highly recommend using the grand piano and organ in the chapel for your music because the acoustics are incredible. Both venues are so elegant that you don't need many decorations or flower arrangements (a great way to save on cost!) And we can't say enough wonderful things about the staff - they don't miss a step in planning and executing your special day!
We also used the Boathouse on campus for the rehearsal dinner and post wedding get-together - a great casual spot to relax!

This venue is beautiful and convenient - the church, reception and an inn were all right next door to each other. The campus is gorgeous and the food ended up being great. They have a very limited selection of alcoholic beverages to serve to your guests and won't allow you to bring in your own. They were also difficult to communicate with - it would take weeks to get a return call and their staff kept changing. But if you can nail them down, it's a great venue beauty and price-wise.
