Solas Studios

We had a remarkably wonderful experience working with Solas Studios, Colleen and Greg! Throughout the process, both were professional, flexible, and made our overall experience VERY easy. That says a lot because we were based on the west coast while planning our wedding and Solas Studios home base is on the east coast. From the start, we could tell that Colleen and Greg were the team we wanted to capture our wedding day. Colleen went above and beyond from start to finish. Through phone calls and emails, we were able to plan the photographic vision of our wedding day with Colleen. She was very prompt at responding and creating time to speak to us directly. She even helped us lay out a timeline for the wedding, which was a tremendous help as she has so much experience and was able to give us several perspectives and ideas for a day of timeline.

The day of the wedding, they were at the site well in advance of their intended arrival and were able to organize our day in a way that was smooth and painless for us. We both have large families which lead to challenges getting them in the same place at the same time, but Collen and Greg were able to manage and photograph all that were both scheduled and spontaneous. They were even able to wrangle the ENTIRE family and pull off a photo that we will cherish forever.

Having both Colleen and Greg created a streamlined day because Greg was able to capture the groom while Colleen worked with the bride both during preparations and during the first look. Colleen and Greg balance each other well, both behind the lens and in person. They have their unique eye and will capture the same moment in complementary but separate ways. In person, they work just as well. While shooting the family portraits, Greg was managing the lights and camera while Colleen was organizing the next shot and grabbing the attention of the youngsters all while remaining completely relaxed and happy.

Initially, we were going to forgo an album, but after seeing the spectacular photo's, we chose to proceed with an album that will permanently remind us of our special day. Collen was efficient and supportive narrowing down and arranging our images in the collection.

Colleen and Greg's communication was instrumental both before, during, and after the event, which gave us great peace of mind. We are several months out from our wedding, and four different families have used one of their images as holiday cards.

Colleen and Greg not only work well individually but are also terrific as a team. We were more than satisfied with Solas Studios and will use them again for future special events in the North East. We cannot recommend them highly enough. When it's your special day, you want the best, and Colleen and Greg are the best!

Colleen and Greg were so professional, really on the ball, and extremely helpful throughout our whole wedding planning process and the day itself. They really put their blood, sweat and tears into getting the best pictures for our wedding day. They were also receptive to my ideas of the settings for photos that I wanted, even if it required a bit of hiking!

We are waiting for the majority of the photos but the ones I have seen so far were amazing!! I would highly recommend Solas Studios.

I have nothing bad to say - Colleen and Greg are AMAZING! We had constant contact via email with quick responses, we had meetings to discuss in person what we wanted, and we had phone conversations as well! They are so on top of it all, and they want what you envision in your wedding! They go above and beyond in all aspects - including going back to our venue AFTER our wedding because I had lost my "something old" and they returned to help find it, AND THEY DID!! I am forever grateful and we have already had some photo sessions since our wedding with them, and we have others planned. I do not plan on using any other photographers EVER!

My wife and I know both know how difficult and time consuming it can when searching for a wedding photographer. You have to find a photographer that suit your needs and will work around your timeframe and schedule. After much research, we went with Solas Studios. They were very helpful and help simplified the whole process. We couldn’t be happier, Solas captured all of the priceless memories on our wedding day.

Colleen and Greg went out of their way to accommodate our needs. They went above and beyond. The photography skills of the two of them compliment each other so well. Colleen made the most beautiful movie combining all of the images and picked the absolute perfect song. We can't thank them enough. We highly recommend them to everyone we know.

Let's start off with a disclaimer: If you are looking to have a budget wedding in which you are happy to trade the quality of your pictures/experience to save a few bucks just walk away now.

These two were fabulous. Words cannot describe the looks on our face when we finally saw our wedding album. We sat there in awe at the attention to detail they provided. Not only did they find our 'good side' but they also made each picture look like it was straight out of a fairy tale.

The dynamic of both of them is night and day between them. In Greg you find quietness, solace, and structure.., in her you find eccentricity, leadership and direction. Coming to both of them as a client - we knew generally what we wanted - right? We quickly became overwhelmed at the details that go into documenting/picturing your perfect day. They not only knew this, but they were willing to comfort us and give us direction - all without us having to ask.

Without rambling on, I truly believe that per dollar this is the best quality you can receive. If that isn't incentive enough, you get their leadership, personality, and caring for absolutely free. We were very picky clients, who even took the time to dissect their contract (it was good - by the way), and we cannot be more pleased.

Do yourself a favor - hire them if you can - before they book up.

So happy we went with Solas Studios! Being a photographer myself it was no easy task finding someone who met up to what i was looking for. But luckily i did! They were very fun, easy going, and even willing to do some of our own ideas! We laughed and joked which made everything for us more comfortable since we all know i am way more comfortable behind the camera than in front lol. The end product was beautiful and we couldn't be happier to have found them and have them capture our special day for us! Highly recommend choosing Colleen and Greg for your wedding if you want a ton of awesome, fun, high quality images to remember your day by!

We couldn't be happier that we hired Solas Studios for our wedding! We recently had our engagement session with them and they were fun, professional and very creative with the shots they chose. The pictures we've seen so far and other pictures on their site are gorgeous and really stand out against other engagement photos I've seen. Colleen and Greg are fun and easy to work with, and make us feel very comfortable. They also spent a significant amount of time getting to know us in our initial consultation, more time than any other vendor we've hired, including our officiant. Their pictures are stunning, and they do a great job of telling a personal story with their photos. They also have listened to and addressed our concerns and suggestions. We cannot wait to work with them again at our wedding!

I'm so happy we chose Solas Studios as our wedding photographers. When I was comparing different photographers, Solas Studios stood out with their bright, beautiful colors and heartfelt moments that they caught with their photos. Their prices were also some of the most reasonable I found.

After meeting with Colleen and Greg, they seemed very personable and organized. They sent out a series of questionnaires to help make sure they got a good feel for what we wanted.

The actual day of the wedding Colleen and Greg were awesome. They were cheerful and relaxed, while still being organized and professional. They seemed like they were having fun and really enjoying what they do. It was nice having both of them there, so many angles and aspects of the wedding were caught all at the same time. They were also great at getting the formal photos done in a short period of time. While most of their packages include full day coverage, we chose one that had 6 hours of coverage. Unfortunately, it was pouring rain on our wedding day, so we decided to do fewer formal photos. Colleen and Greg were able to get beautiful shots, even in a dark indoor venue they captured gorgeous colors and flattering lighting. They also got some amazing shots of my husband and I in the rain (under umbrellas). Colleen and Greg were willing to get soaked in order to get artistic portraits. They even stayed later in the night to make sure they got a large number of guest pictures too.

Overall, out of all of my vendors, I am most happy with my choice of Solas Studios. They are a great team, you can't go wrong. The only thing I would have changed is to have chosen a bigger package so we could have had an engagement session too. (My husband and I had even thought about doing a "honeymoon shoot" to make up for it.)

The BEST photography by far! Colleen and Greg are extremely talented and professional. They are organized, responsive, fun, easy to work with, and their work is a cut above the rest. My husband and I are complimented constantly on the amazing photos they took of our wedding - so many perfect shots! We had a BLAST with them at meetings, the engagement session, and the wedding, because they are fantastic photographers and awesome people. Highly, highly recommend.
