Founder Jessica Ireland offers creative boutique events to couples in Coastal Virginia. She has more than 15 years of experience in event management, and in the past co-owned Elizabella Weddings, curating events in the States and internationally, and then received her MBA to deliver even greater expertise. Together with her team of professional planners, Jessica helps custom-design your wedding, collaborate with your vendors, and oversee the myriad of details and logistics.

My Perfect Nor’easter Outdoor Wedding

As I sit here 1 week from the day I got to say “I Do” I am still in awe and at a loss for words at just how magnificent last Saturday turned out. If you don’t live in Hampton Roads Virginia you may not understand so let me, explain (sit back and grab a coffee because the story is worth it). Last week Hurricane Ian hit Florida and its storm path was taking it right up the east coast, set to hit Hampton Roads, Virginia at its worst on Saturday…. My wedding day. Now I’m not completely shocked that a hurricane was set to hit my wedding weekend because of our luck and that October is in the middle of hurricane season however, I was not expecting a category 5 hurricane double the size of the last major hurricane to follow this particular path which took place back in 2004. Now in order to have a magnificent wedding a lot of planning needs to take place and I like a challenge so I decided to plan my wedding, start my master's, begin a traveling career, and even get a new puppy the week before the wedding. How did I keep it all together you may ask? Jessica, was my saving grace, my soundboard, my motivator, and the person who would speak on my behalf to keep everything running smoothly and to ensure that I got exactly what I wanted on my big day. Jessica was available whenever I needed her and was always quick to respond. She was flexible with my crazy schedule when it came to scheduling meetings, picking up my decorations, and my last-minute changes on the day of the wedding. Leading up to the big day she kept in touch with all of my vendors which took a large load of stress off of my shoulders considering the weather report kept looking worse and worse as we approached the weekend. Now, like I said we were hit with a Nor’easter and Friday was a full-blown Nor’easter, winds hit 30mph, it was cold and rain was just being dumped on the area. Having the most amazing family and friends a couple could ask for everyone showed up to the rehearsal dinner Including Jessica with a big smile on her face ready to ease not only my worries but those of my family and friends. We had come up with multiple backup plans and she was ready to work through them all with everyone. She also made it very clear to everyone, especially my maid of honor and best man that anything and everything needed to go through her, that My husband and I were to do nothing Saturday morning except enjoying ourselves, eat, and stay hydrated. All decision-making and “issues” were to go through her so that the bride and groom had nothing to stress about. Now I don’t know if it was prayers, people’s tears, or the numerous rain dances that may or may not have taken place around midnight to the rain gods and any other weather god that was watching but when we woke up Saturday morning the weather was perfect. The sun was shining, the sky was clear and the temperature was spot-on. At 11 o’clock – noon, I nervously went to Jessica and Chuck (my venue host) and asked if there was any possible way the (4:30 pm) wedding could be moved outside. They went outside where the ground was by some miracle, not a mud pile Chuck said give me an hour, Jessica said we’re on it and the next thing I knew everyone went into overdrive to shift our plans yet again without any hesitation. By the time the guests arrived, you would’ve never known a nor’easter as hit the day before. My wedding took place outside just as I had dreamed and it went magnificently. I had nothing to worry about on the day of my wedding except having a blast getting ready with my girls which I am incredibly grateful for. Absolutely Amazing!! HIRE HER

If I could give Jessica more than 5 stars I would!! Her and her team exceeded every expectation we could've imagined and was the person behind the scenes who made our wedding so amazing. Our wedding day went so smoothly and was effortless for my husband and me. She started working with us about two months out and went over all of our contracts for accuracy, helped us gather all last minute things, and created the most DETAILED itinerary that all of our vendors adhered to. On the wedding day she brought and set up every decoration, made sure the whole day went according to our schedule, and broke down every thing after our event. She's so easy to talk to and work with. Even people in my family and wedding party were raving about how amazing her and her team were! If you need a coordinator, hire her!

MVP of our wedding

Hiring Jessica was the BEST decision we made when planning our wedding. I cannot say enough good things about her so I'll just list all of the things we loved about her!
- She was so helpful & responsive throughout the whole process (even as early as 9 months before the wedding, when she started helping us organize our vendor contracts)
- She was great at directing people on the rehearsal & wedding day. She literally told our wedding party not to text me and my husband on our wedding day (to text her instead if anything went wrong) so that we could stay calm and enjoy the day.
- She put together an itinerary for every second of the day and thought out every tiny detail (even including a reminder for me to eat lunch). She kept things moving quickly all night and always asked if we were ready to move on to the next things (e.g. cake cutting, bouquet toss).
- When a couple of things went wrong at the wedding, she immediately stepped in to help. My dress's bustle broke - she found a safety pin. The photographer didn't bring the shot list - Jessica made sure we got all the photos we wanted.
- I had several different decor elements I didn't know what to do with. I asked Jessica to place them wherever she thought would look best and all the decor turned out looking so beautiful and cohesive. Walking into the reception space to see everything in its place was a dream!
- She and her team set everything up and broke it all down so we didn't have to think about it at all. She even picked it up from our house and dropped it back off (I didn't even know she had done this until my mom told me a few days later!)
- Her prices were SO reasonable for the amount of time and effort she put into making our wedding day happen.

Seriously, Jessica was truly a dream to work with and I can't imagine what our wedding would've looked like without her! HIRE HER!!!
