Who Are We
Founded by Kimberly, Poetically Brushed is a team of professional Hair and Makeup stylists working with brides and their parties. We are based in the Hagerstown and Frederick area and travel onsite throughout the Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and DC areas. Services that we provide include airbrush and traditional makeup, with false lashes included with both blowouts and, of course, updo styling. Having you feel confident and completely beautiful as yourself is our main goal! It would be our pleasure to work with you, we do not take it lightly at all!
What Does A Wedding Day Look Like?
All stylists will show up 15 minutes before the scheduled time to set up. We ask for a well lit area with table space and seats. You will be provided with a schedule for all the contracted services to ensure a smooth day! Once all services have been completed your stylists will head on out.
Trial Runs
We recommend that you set up a trial run 2-4 months before the wedding! If you would like to set up a trial before booking, that is not a problem! You will want to book a trial run immediately. Please keep in mind we are working with brides on Saturdays; a trial run may need to be planned during a weekday, depending on the season. Trial runs generally take two hours. Feel free to bring a buddy, hair accessories, or any jewelry to your trial! We ask you to have guided ideas in mind; coming to a trial run, not knowing what you are envisioning for your wedding day, will not set us up for success.

From the trial through the wedding day, Kim was professional, helpful, and supportive. I could tell she is invested in her art and clients. She posts great tips on her social channels so you can prepare your face and hair for the big day. She gave me guidance in selecting my hair extensions, recommended moisturizers for my skin, and helped me work with my florist on specifications for my floral crown. It's obvious Kim spends time getting to know her brides and learning their vision for the day. She knows exactly how to create the look you want. Not only that, but she also makes sure your hair and makeup will withstand whatever your special day throws at you, be it wind, rain, sun, happy tears... I was able to wear my hair (and eyelashes) the next morning for my farewell brunch -- talk about bang for your buck! I highly recommend working with Poetically Brushed!
