Abby did an incredible job as our DJ, from the earliest stages of planning, all the way to the day of our wedding when she kept our guests dancing until the very last song! We had initially found her through a friend of a friend’s recommendation and I’m so glad that we did, because she really turned out to be the perfect choice for us. I was blown away by how thorough and thoughtful her process of getting to know us was, and was really impressed with how clear and accurate a sense of our music taste she managed to piece together while still keeping it fully danceable.

For those of you preparing ahead for the inevitable stress of planning your wedding, know this: Abby is an absolute professional. Once she has all of her questions on timing and tech answered, you will not need to worry about her again. She hit all our queues when she needed to, always had our microphones where they needed to be and at the right volume, and this bears repeating, absolutely killed it keeping people dancing and having fun. Major bonus points: she had great suggestions for our reception tent setup and she even jumped in and helped manage our quick rehearsal with the wedding party before the ceremony, because we didn’t have a planner or coordinator. Her years of experience doing weddings was invaluable.

Music was one of our top priorities and Abby and Tom delivered! Everyone was dancing all night and raved about the music after. They are so awesome, relaxed, and so quick to respond and really open about our music preferences (and also added their own recos). Abby also is the perfect emcee - totally not cheesy. I can not recommend them enough.

Cannot recommend Abby & Tom enough.. nearly ALL our guests were on the dance floor the entire night, and a huge number of them made it a point to tell us either that night or later about how much they loved the music. These people ranged from our friends in their 20s/30s to family members and older family friends with vastly different tastes than ours. It wasn't like there was "something for everyone" (meaning everyone got to hear 1-2 songs they liked) but instead the music was everything for everyone...!

Beyond that, Abby and Tom met up with us a few weeks before the wedding just to talk music, and by doing so, they completely nailed our taste on the night of our wedding. They played all the songs we asked for, and chose others based on their huge knowledge of what falls into our musical tastes and is also great for dancing.

AND beyond that, they are kind, super responsive, and really easy to work with. They even kindly helped us out in a few extra ways with no charge.

Book them - book them early (I know two other friends who missed out on them and regret it) - and you will not regret it.

My husband and I both are really into music and we were really nervous about picking a DJ but Play Something Good were awesome. Abby and Tom are a great team. They consulted with us on our music choices and played the best set list we could ask for. I honestly kept saying to myself during the wedding "I love this song". Our wedding photographer commented that he had never seen so many people rush the dance floor like they did at our wedding. We could not be happier with our choice to work with them on our wedding. They were so great and professional, always approaching and asking me first when wedding guests want to take the mic (this is really important because people do this). More importantly everyone danced all night until the very end and this was because the music was so good you just couldn't NOT dance.

My daughter picked Play Something Good for her wedding which just took place. I know she is super picky about her music and she spent a lot of time relating exactly what songs and type of music she wanted. And that is exactly what was played at the wedding and it was a HUGE success. The dance floor was full from the minute the music started until the very last song. All the guests, young and old, couldn't stop dancing. I've been to a lot of weddings and some good ones, too, but nothing like ours. I have never seen so many people having so much fun the entire time! Good music makes the party. Thank you, Play Something Good, for providing the best!

Abby and Tom just get it. They take the time to get to know you, what music and vibe you want, and create an amazing dance party. We had a full sit down dinner and then a three hour dance party. We were a bit worried that people would get tired of dancing for so long without splitting the time up, but Abby and Tom kept our guests dancing the whole night. They more than delivered. We did not miss having a band at all. We also didn't want a formal MC to host the evening, so we asked Abby to introduce the speeches. She was unobtrusive and did a fantastic job. We would use Abby and Tom for any event that we plan in the future.

Despite not really knowing how to pick a DJ based on conversations, we interviewed several. We knew we wanted music that was tailored to our tastes, minimal cheesiness, a good party, etc. However, we weren't really sure what else we were looking for or how to distinguish between DJs. Once we talked to Play Something Good, our decision was obvious. They were the first DJs to research the venue in advance and reach out to the venue directly to determine what additional equipment would be needed. I was initially concerned about the size of the venue and the acoustic challenges. It sounds odd, but one reason we went with Play Something Good is that they were concerned too. While most DJs we talked to brushed off our concerns, Play Something Good was focused on making sure everything would work out in advance. They are very professional and they do their homework! They made us totally comfortable and confident that the day (or at least the music) would run smoothly.

We worked with Abby, and she was phenomenal. She was willing to work around our crazy schedules, and she spent a lot of time with us patiently going through our musical tastes - even reminding us of songs and genres we had forgotten about. She is both professional and warm, and she made our lives during the wedding planning process sooooo much easier!!!

On the day of the wedding, Abby managed to use our guidance and preferences and play music that had everyone up dancing. She did a great job reading both us and the crowd. We had so many guests tell us how great the music and the DJ were! She totally nailed it. :)

My husband and I used Abby and Tom for our wedding and it was one of the best choices we made in our lives (sounds like an exaggeration but its entirely true). We originally were going to just use an ipod, then we decided to hire an amateur DJ friend... and finally decided last minute to book them after we read their reviews and we feel so unbelievably lucky that we stumbled across them. The entire night everyone kept commenting on the music selection- numerous people told us the music was the best they had ever heard at a wedding... they played such amazing music that my husbands grandmother, who can barely walk, was dancing. Everyone danced all night long, everyone teared up at how powerful some of the songs were- they incorporated all the music we are into (which we discussed over a very detailed meeting about all the music we like and dislike!). They are subtle in their announcements and aren't over the top entertainers at all- they let the music move things along, and they definitely know how to read a crowd. On top of all of this, they are such sweet, wonderful people with beautiful souls and wonderful marriage advice (if you ask!). They earned every single penny, and them some. We have so much gratitude for all their hard work.

Tom and Abby were professional and delivered beyond what we could imagine. They took the time to understand what we really wanted for our non-traditional format and executed and cared about it. They added a level of energy to help make a great party even better and were applauded after the final song played.

When we originally started looking for DJ's for our wedding, my husband and I were not impressed with any of the options we found. Everyone was suggesting generic "party" music, and we wanted to create a special night with amazing songs to support it. After our meeting with Abby, we knew that we had to have Play Something Good at our wedding! They were extremely thorough in asking us the types of music we wanted to hear, we literally went through all the music era by era. The day of our wedding they provided the sound for our ceremony, which went off without a hitch. As for our wedding night, all I can say is the crowd was dancing so much that Tom had to stop using records because the needle was jumping off due to the shaking of the floors. Unreal how amazing they were. Highly recommended.
