We held our wedding ceremony and reception here and it was a like a dream! I felt like a princess. Everyone from the front desk to the restaurants to the event management listened to us and helped us plan for an incredible wedding night! We also stayed here for our honeymoon and the view and room was gorgeous! Would highly recommend staying at the Park Place Hotel!

Our reception was at the Top of the Park Place Hotel. We worked with Jesse Rollo to plan our event and he was phenomenal. He answered 100s of my questions over 10 months of planning, was able to accommodate all of our special requests with place settings, different table sizes, and special beer requests, and made us feel at ease. The service, food, and decor was perfect the night of our reception. Everyone was incredibly friendly, efficient, and made the night easy and so special for my husband and I. The Top of the Park is absolutely beautiful -- our guests loved the panoramic view of Traverse City and West Bay as the sun was setting.

Park Place was great! Jesse was my contact, and he was quick to respond, nice to work with, and very easygoing. We had excellent service and the food was even better than expected. Top of the Park has awesome views and I am sooo happy with the reception we had there! (Just fyi though...Top of the Park room shape is a bit odd, so I wouldn't have any more than 50 guests if you are having a dance floor. Even though the shape is not your standard square/rectangle, it works out great!)

Everything at the Park Place was fantastic. The staff was accommodating, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure that our day was special. We had to make some last minute adjustments due to a family emergency, and they were simply amazing to us. Any changes we requested were happily made and their professionalism greatly reduced our stress. The Top of the Park is a beautiful venue, the food was incredible, and our guests were very impressed with both the staff and location. I would highly recommend The Park Place Hotel for a reception or similar function.

The food is AMAZING and a great value. The dance floor was very out dated and needs replaced. Some of the staff were rude to some of my guests and the lady handing out cake clearly hated her job. Overall you cannot beat the food and view from the top of the park. The view made the wedding awesome. I would not advertise the top of the park for 80 people. We had 55 total people and it was about as tight as you can go. Loved the flexibility for decorating and access to the top. Overall the few hiccups were minor things the scheme of it all.

They were great to work with. The PP was very flexible and helpful. There were very few issues on the day of, and they were more than willing to work with us to take care of them. Everything came together wonderfully.

I realize that part of the reason for how much flexibility and attention we received is probably due to the time of year. The room wasn't booked the night before or the next morning, so there was no pressure on set up or take down. During the busier times of year there might be more of a crunch.

We used the Park Place for our room block for our wedding. Working with them was a little difficult, however everything worked out and our guests were happy! We did our post wedding brunch at the top of the park and the food was great, service was awesome, and the view was the best. I would recommend them to use for a wedding block or event.

Overall our experience at the Park Place Hotel was slightly above average. The good: food was excellent, service people and event coordinator (Jesse) were kind and attentive, the hotel is clean and has incredible views from the Top of the Park. The bad: we were talked into having our wedding on a Sunday to "save some money" however the hotel has a goofy rule that guests staying on Saturday also have to stay on Friday (and vice versa) for the room block. We did not know this until after we made our deposit, so virtually none of our guests ended up staying in the hotel. When we contacted the sales person, her personality did a 180 and she became abrasive and demeaning. Also, the few guests that did stay in the hotel said that the hotel employees were not easy to work with. The hotel rooms were small and that the quality was not equivalent to the price that Park Place charges. One other gripe that we had was the way that PP presented it's additional fees for catering services. Instead of saying that prices are subject to an 18% gratuity and 6% sales tax (as was common when we were looking for a reception hall), they simply say there is an "18% taxable service fee". So it sounds like a 12% gratuity with 6% sales tax but they charge an additional 6% on top of the food + 18% service fee total.

The final problem, and the biggest, was that Park Place threw away a big portion of our flowers after they had been delivered from the florist (but before the reception). These included: cake flowers, a toss bouquet, and three bunches of loose flowers for table arrangements. The hotel did reimburse us for the lost flowers but my wife had to toss one of her bridesmaids bouquets and half the tables we set up didn't have arrangements. We still don't understand how new flowers can be mistaken for old flowers left over from the previous night's reception (the explanation given to us).

BUYER BEWARE: In all honesty our wedding was great because of what we did, Park Place providing the room and the utensils was great. Dealing with the Sales manager on the other hand was very unprofessional, at first it seemed very simple, however, there were no receipts given for transactions, and it took time to collect contracts.

At first it seemed as though they worked with us, and then when I got to the reception on the day of I was surprised after asking every question that I could to prevent surprises, I got surprised. The situation on the front end with the staff seemed to be resolved until Park Place then charged the wrong account for our final balances after being instructed on which account to charge and given the necessary information to do so. On today, July 22, 2016 Park Place charged the wrong account on Monday and on Friday still has NOT resolved the situation. Their solution was to charge over $2100.00 to the wrong account and then attempt to return $1800.00. After discussing the issue with the sales manager at large, the situation has been pushed off and treated as leisurely as possible. When discussing the situation with the management Deborah and Diana in accounting, both seemed annoyed that it is Friday and that I still had questions, mind you, we had to push for a receipt and the receipt was not sent until Friday.

Attempting to resolve their mistake has been a chore, the sales manager did not return phone calls and continued to blame others for her role in the situation. It does alarm me that card information was kept on file for so long and used without proper consent. After this outcome, anyone looking at Park Place ask for receipts and get a written breakdown of the transactions with the bar and how it is run.
