A beautiful day in a gorgeous venue

We were looking for a venue that combined beautiful, old world historic charm with the rustic, relaxed vibe we wanted for our wedding. Park-McCullough was perfect in every way. We were sold the moment we stepped onto the mansion’s gorgeous grounds, strolled through the beautiful gardens and strolled along the spacious covered veranda. The grounds, gardens, mansion and carriage house offer a huge variety of locations and options for each part of your wedding day. When some unexpected rain threw a wrench in our ceremony plans, we were able to shift gears and hold our ceremony on the expansive covered veranda, which turned out to be even more intimate and memorable than our original plan. The breathtaking photos of our wedding day captured both the historic interior and exterior of the venue, showcasing all the beautiful details that made us fall in love with the space.

We also need to give a shoutout to Polly and her staff who patiently answered so many of our questions and was never anything but extremely kind and professional, even when plans changed multiple times and we asked so much of her.

Our guests loved exploring and spending time at this historic venue and we loved being able to support a non-profit museum preserving such a unique piece of Vermont history. We can’t wait to continue visiting Park-McCullough over the years to remember the best day of our lives.

A lovely wedding venue

Park-McCullough was the perfect place for our special day. The gardens were beautiful. There were people staged throughout the house so guests could tour during cocktail hour. The event coordinator worked with us personally to make it the most amazing day ever.

After looking over numerous vendors for my daughter's wedding our final choice was the Park McCullough House. We worked with Dahlia from the start and she was able to make recommendations and suggestions to help us make this the wedding we wanted. Truthfully, I hope my other daughter chooses the same venue!

Park McCullough is a beautiful place to have any event, but I loved it for our wedding. The porch itself is perfect for the ceremony and cocktail hour. We had lawn games that we could set up ourselves. The Carriage Barn can be as rustic, simple or elegant as you choose. They are flexible and will help you to personalize the space and grounds to be whatever you dream it to be. All of our guests were amazed with the beauty of the grounds and spaces.

The Park McCullough House is a beautiful venue for a truly unique wedding. The event coordinator, Helene, was very professional and responsive to all of our questions. She was so helpful the day of our wedding. Our wedding could not have been as perfect as it was without all of her guidance and assistance! I cannot recommend this venue enough!

I had a beautiful wedding at the Park McCullough! The grounds are gorgeous and the carriage house was nice for a reception. The people were wonderful to work with and I found them to be very accommodating, flexible, professional and nice. We had a great ceremony in their beautiful garden, a fabulous cocktail hour on the lovely veranda and a wonderful reception in the carriage house. It was very historic Vermont and everyone loved it! It is surrounded by preserved land and the entire area is gorgeous! Also, they were reasonably priced and the price includes tables and chairs! There is almost no one else that provides that! Also, plenty of parking and great people!

Beautiful historic property in North Bennington Vermont. Perfect location for an outdoor/indoor wedding - used the veranda for the cocktails following the ceremony and the carriage barn for the reception. Total support from staff in working through details and scheduling delivery of rentals, coordinating set up, bar, take down, etc. Would love to do another event here.

This was a beautiful location with the most helpful coordinator of all time, Dahlia. She was very helpful and flexible, and was always around to give us walk throughs, answer questions, or make suggestions. We met face to face a number of times as well as often by email. The venue was gorgeous and we didn't have any issues whatsoever. The Saturday ceremony and reception cost was a little more than we had initially intended to spend on the venue, but it was worth it and it's great to know that much of our payment goes right back into the historical house's restoration and upkeep.

Dahlia has been a huge help in the wedding planning process! Park McCullough is a beautiful and affordable option, and she has been very flexible to our unusual wedding arrangement. She even booked us the venue the night before so that we would have set-up time! We look forward to seeing the finished product, which we know will be great.

I hate to rate my wedding venue this poorly. Park McCullough is a beautiful place steeped in history. Yet in looking back at our experience, it was rather bumpy. I'm glad that my husband and I got married there, but my recommendation would be with reservations.

Let me first explain that when I was in the midst of planning the wedding, Park McCullough's wedding and event planner left. They have since hired a replacement (I can't comment on her), but I was without a true wedding assistant while trying to plan the wedding. It was for this reason that I ended up hiring an outside wedding planner. One of Park McCullouogh's staff helped me throughout the planning process, but this was obviously not his forte and I clearly got the impression that he resented having to assist brides. Still, he did meet with me several times prior to the wedding.

Part of the problem was that I was verbally told some things, and when I tried to have them incorporated into the contract that we signed, they balked. Um, I'm not stupid. I pushed, trying to hold them to their word (at this point, so much time had elapsed that all other venues were booked, so I was stuck), and they pushed back. Finally we agreed on the contract. If you have your event here, definitely get everything in writing. I don't think that there was intentional dishonesty -- just miscommunication -- but that can still ruin a wedding!

Park McCullough was a good value, as it was one of the only locations in the area that included tables and chairs. It also has a beautiful garden for the ceremony. The carriage barn was recently renovated and looks great -- new catering kitchen, new bathrooms, freshly painted, etc. The house itself looked lovely, though the paint was peeling off the side of the house. It had been promised that it would be painted prior to the wedding, but that did not happen. They require you to purchase alcohol through them, but it's reasonably priced and they are flexible with offerings and can order anything.

The biggest complaint was that it was beastly hot the day of the wedding -- so hot that Park McCullough called me in advance and suggested that we provide water during the ceremony -- and then did not turn on the AC in the carriage barn until the guests went inside. It was horrifically hot at that point, and guests were complaining to staff, to no avail. We'd asked them to turn the AC on hours earlier as we were setting up, and there were numerous excuses. Come on, if they were that concerned about the price, they should have asked me for more money. I would have gladly paid a little extra to prevent my guests from suffering.

Perhaps the most ironic thing is that Park McCullough has weddings to raise money and is a non-profit. They should realize that every wedding is filled with potential donors. I would have become a volunteer and made donations if not for some of the problems that we encountered.

Despite these glitches, it is truly a beautiful and private setting that is very unique. If you are highly organized and willing to stand your ground, then I would recommend it. Hopefully their new event planner is good and will make some needed touches. I certainly don't regret getting married there.
