We took over all the rooms at Edson Hill for our guests for our mid-September wedding weekend and hosted our Friday night welcome BBQ and Saturday post-wedding pizza & s’mores after party there. We could not recommend Edson Hill more highly, both as a place to stay and as a venue to host a large wedding event. Edson Hill is a really special place, and Jesse, Kristen and the entire staff are wonderful people. The setting is idyllic Vermont at its best – rolling hillsides covered in foliage, a winding dirt road that takes you up to the main house, beautiful grounds to walk around on and so on. The rooms have been recently updated and are beautifully and luxuriously done, incredibly comfortable and reasonably priced for what they offer (we have stayed in both the Manor House rooms and some of the guest house rooms, and they’re all great). The food is some of the best we’ve had in Vermont or anywhere for that matter (we are from New York but spend a lot of time at my parents’ home in Vermont) – and amazingly the delicious meals we had experienced in the Edson Hill restaurant and at our tasting translated into equivalently delicious food done for 100+ people at our Friday night BBQ. Our guests raved about Edson Hill throughout the weekend – everyone loved their rooms, loved that everyone staying there was part of the wedding party and couldn’t stop talking about how good the food was. I think many of our guests who had never been to Stowe are already planning second visits to stay at Edson Hill! A bit more on the Edson Hill staff – they were exceptional to work with leading up to the wedding, brought fantastic ideas to the table in terms of food and wine selection and made our tastings so fun and special. They did so many things over the course of the weekend to help make it even more special than it already was for us and our guests. Thank you so much Jesse and the entire Edson Hill team! We are so grateful to you for hosting us and can’t wait to be back!

I truly cannot have imagined getting married anywhere other than Edson Hill. It was a perfect day. The setting is unbeatable - true Vermont, absolutely stunning landscape. We loved being able to have most of our family and our wedding party staying right on the grounds with us though the grounds and rooms are so spacious and spread out that everyone could easily relax with their own space. The staff are incredibly dedicated and helpful. The nature trails on site were great for day hikes for friends and family visiting. The flowers provided by Juliet O'Neil of Edson Hill for incredible and exactly what we had envisioned. Edson Hill was completely flexible in letting us use the grounds for certain added touches to our wedding, including using small battery-powered candles to light the path down to the water after dark for a lantern-lit canoe ride. Words truly fail to describe our appreciation and love for Edson Hill. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Edson Hill Manor was the perfect choice for our wedding. Billy O'Neill was great to work with, and his wife Juliet did my flowers, and they came out amazing. They made our whole experience very easy and stress-free. The food was excellent and service was terrific. I highly recommend it for a wedding!

I was married at Edson this past August and the wedding was absolutely beautiful and went off without a hitch. Billy did a wonderful job and was on top of everything during the ceremony and reception. The grounds are beautiful and it's a very private location with great views and great photo ops. We did not work with his wife, Juliet, who I had heard does wonderful flowers. I had emailed her and gotten one response and emailed back with more questions and then I never heard back from her, so I had to change my plan for flowers. At the beginning of the wedding planning process, we had some miscommunications with Billy about how many rooms he was holding for us and for how long, so I would just recommend being very specific when telling him what you want. Other than that, he was very flexible and made sure everything was perfect for the wedding. It is a great venue if you are on a tight budget because they don't charge an outrageous site fee, like other places. I would highly recommend this location to anybody!

We had a beautiful wedding this fall at Edson Hill Manor. Billy O'Neil was easy to work with and was very flexible with all of the details. We found it to be a beautiful venue and found that our wedding budget went much farther here.

The food and cake were absolutely delicious!

My only complaint is with regard to the handicap accessibility of the Manor. I had several guests in attendance who were elderly and who could have benefited from handrails, ramps, raised toilets, etc. Additionally, the carriage house room labeled as "handicap accessible" isn't. The only difference between it and a regular room was that the doorway was a little wider. This was incredibly problematic for my husband's handicapped grandmother.

My husband and I were married this past June and our wedding at the Edson Hill Manor went on without a hitch. Billy O'Neil is very easy to talk to and very flexible. The location is beautiful, with many great areas for pictures. A few things that I would tell Brides about it that I would not seat more than 8 guests per table any more would be way to crowded, Billy had told me 7-9 and I heard him mention to another prospective bride that they could seat 8-10 per table. 8 is definitely the max. Also make sure to give them very specific details on how you want things to be set up. i had brought most of the decor for the ceremony and reception and forgot to tell them that the flower petals that I brought were for the ceremony Isle, they were never put out and I never got them back after...not sure what was done with them. Also keep in mind that there is a two night minimum when renting a room at the manor and they charge %10 tax and %15 service fee, but they will give wedding guests a %15 discount. I didn't really notice at my wedding but we attended a wedding there before we got married and all the employees that were working the reception (serving food, bartending etc..) were very grumpy and hardly smiled. My mom mentioned something about the not so smiley workers at my wedding as well. All these things are minor though and I am just very detail oriented and like everything to be just so. At the end of the day I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day! We were very happy with everything, our guests had a blast, and we have many great memories. Edson Hill Manor is a beautiful location and very affordable for the area, i looked in to many ceremony vendors and EHM is by far one of the most beautiful affordable places. highly recommended if your on a tight budget.

I loved the venue we chose but the reason why I scored this location is due to the owner of this property. I had heard that they did amazing weddings from other people and ours was done wonderfully as well but working with the owner can be hard at times and I felt like they looked at things from a dollar sign more than a happy event. I would recommend this venue to others for having weddings but just make sure that you are on top of everything.

I was married at Edson Hill Manor this summer (2014). We were so happy with how everything turned out. The venue is absolutely beautiful and the staff is professional and took care of the set up/tear down of everything. The food is delicious and they give you great portions. We also had them do our cake and people said it was the best tasting wedding cake they ever had. I did have some communication issues with the owner. Several guests told us that they found the people answering the phones to be rude. If you are the kind of person who wants someone to work through the details with you, you should hire a wedding planner. They present as if they will take on that role but only on the day of and only if you give specifics on how you want everything. If you go with this venue it is very beautiful and a good option in Stowe for the money, however you need to be sure you clearly explain everything you want done and how it should look. They do not inquire much about these things and if you do not stay on top of all the details they may not get done.
