Intimate day of love
My parents brought me to the Inn at Weathersfield one winter evening for dinner. I had an exquisite meal and knew I’d need to visit again in early summer with my fiancé to do a proper venue tour. A few months later we fell in love with the inn on a rainy summer day. The inn and the grounds are effortlessly gorgeous and encapsulated the perfect woodland garden vibe we were looking for. Ivan welcomed us with open arms, explaining the rich history of the inn. His passion shined brightly, and he was magnetic. We exchanged emails over the next year to plan the wedding of my dreams. Ivan and Richel were sometimes slow to respond over email, but the reality is that the bulk of the wedding comes together 2-4 weeks beforehand. We accomplished a lot over the phone. They executed the weekend FLAWLESSLY. We had to plan around a rainy weekend, and the team jumped into action to organize chairs inside the inn for a ceremony set-up that had not been done before. It was the most intimate ceremony I could’ve asked for. The drinks were flowing. The food was divine. The service was excellent. The weekend flowed perfectly. My guests were raving about the food and the inn’s beauty. Ivan, Peter, Richel and their team made every guest feel welcomed and cared for, which is exactly how my husband and I felt when we visited a year earlier. We can’t wait to return for a relaxing weekend soon!

We loved it!
We had a unique situation with the Inn at Weathersfield as the (former) owners sold the Inn literally three weeks before our wedding. It was a whirlwind three weeks as I began working with the new owner and I was SO worried. Fortunately the new owners were so lovely and helpful and FRIENDLY! The food was amazing, and they worked so closely and carefully to ensure those with food allergies were okay. The servers were so nice and friendly. The venue is beautiful, from the rooms to the grounds. I was so grateful for the team who made my day wonderful. I felt fully taken care of by the new owners and they genuinely seemed happy to be part of our day. I cannot wait to go back and celebrate our honeymoons to come. Definitely recommend this venue.

A beautiful venue run by wonderful people
I love the Inn at Weathersfield so much that I’m not sure how I can write a review without filling several pages. We got married here on September 10, 2022. It was a beautiful, wonderful day, and the whole team at the Inn made it basically perfect.
Marilee and Richard (and everyone else who works there!) were an absolute joy to work with during the entire wedding process. Every time I had a planning call with Marilee, I would start the call feeling anxious and worried that I hadn’t done enough planning, but I would leave the call feeling relaxed and happy, knowing that everything about our wedding was in the best hands. Marilee was so helpful in making sure everything went smoothly, and she is truly one of the kindest and sweetest people I’ve ever met. The attention to every detail from everyone there was truly above and beyond what we could have expected. They are genuinely wonderful people, and they cared so much about making our celebration wonderful. We’re so grateful to Marilee and Richard and Chef Addie, and everyone at the Inn for making our wedding day so lovely.
The food was incredible, almost every one of our guests commented on how good the food was, and several people told me they were going to try to replicate the second-course squash dish at home! It was so tasty. The grounds and the Inn itself were so beautiful, even more beautiful than they look in pictures. We kept our florals and décor pretty minimal, because we knew we wanted to let the natural beauty of the space shine through. Almost all of our guests commented on what a beautiful space it was, and how gorgeous the grounds and the ceremony site are. When the sun set, I saw many of our guests taking pictures of the gorgeous orange sky through the tall pine trees! At least a dozen people told us that they plan to come back again for a weekend getaway.
I can’t keep writing forever, so I’ll just end by saying that anyone would be lucky to have a wedding at the Inn at Weathersfield. We had a great experience, and one of the most fun days of our lives so far. Thank you so much to the team at the Inn for helping us have such a wonderful wedding day.

Completely Magical in Every Way
We had our September 4th wedding at the Inn at Weathersfield--there simply aren't words to describe how incredible the day was and so much of that can be attributed to Marilee, Richard and everyone at the Inn who went out of their way to make everything absolutely perfect. We heard from many of our guests that it was their favorite wedding they've ever attended and all of our vendors were asking us how we found the location. The inn looks beautiful in photos but even photos don't do it justice-- the ceremony spot, the grounds, and the inn itself are all absolutely stunning and beautifully maintained.
We wanted a smaller wedding (35 people) and to have the focus of the evening to be a long, incredible meal with all of our friends. When we shared this idea with Marilee she was enthusiastic and encouraging. She never once tried to fit our wedding into a standard formula or cookie cutter approach-- instead she worked with us to create a day that felt entirely like us and unique to who we are as a couple. We rented out the Inn for two nights so our friends and family could stay there and had two nights of absolutely incredible food created by the Inn's chef (our wedding dinner included an amazing pasta course among other delicious courses!) For our cocktail hour we had a raw bar and the inn served the most delicious oysters I've ever had.
Finally, I'd be remiss not to call out two instances that really impressed us in terms of how good the people who run the inn are: 1. We were one of the many couples who ended up moving a wedding from 2020 to 2021. Throughout the whole process, Marilee was sympathetic to that decision and readily moved the date to this year no questions asked and with no additional charges. She just wanted to do what was right by us and our guests. 2. When we arrived the day before the wedding some of the grass has died because of the recent heat. Marilee was so worried it might not look good for our pictures if any shots included that angle that her family had gone out to buy planters and flowers to put in front of that part of the lawn. I wouldn't have thought of that at all and we were really touched that she cared so much about making sure everything was perfect for us and capturing our memories of the day. Marilee is definitely the magic behind weddings here. We can't wait to go back to the inn for our anniversary and relive all the special memories she helped us to create here!

Beyond Our Wildest Dreams!
We unfortunately fell into the group of engaged couples that were affected by the pandemic and were forced to make the difficult decision to postpone our wedding. Marilee was very accommodating in these uncertain times and worked with us over the course of two years to bring about our dream wedding.
Everything about our experience with the Inn at Weathersfield was incredible, we truly could not have been happier with how things went. It was the perfect place for our small wedding. We booked all 12 rooms of the inn for our wedding weekend celebration so that our families could spend quality time together. In addition to being sparkling clean, the rooms are all very unique and have so much character. All our guests felt truly at home staying at the Inn.
The owners, Marilee and Richard, in addition to their staff were so kind and easy to work with. Everyone went above and beyond for our wedding weekend and we are so grateful.
The only obstacle in the way of our perfect wedding came as our florist was unable to set out our floral arrangements as planned on our long dining table. This could have been disastrous, as the 28 foot loose floral table runner required a large amount of prep to complete. Marilee was unfazed by this and jumped into action immediately to ensure that everything went as planned. She gathered her entire staff and worked tirelessly to trim roses and other flowers and weave eucalyptus and greenery to pull of an incredible centerpiece just in nick of time.
Our family raved about the incredible food carefully crafted by Chef Kyle and the beautiful presentation and attentive service by Marilee and her team.
The Inn’s well-manicured landscape created an abundance of picturesque backdrops that were a photographer’s dream. Our photographer had no trouble finding locations for breathtaking wedding photos. Pictures do not do justice to the beauty of the Chapel in the Woods where we held our ceremony and surrounding greenery.
We are looking forward to returning and know that our wedding guest feel the same way!

Picturesque Winter Wedding
We cannot say enough wonderful things about The Inn at Weathersfield, we wanted a small and intimate elopement with our immediate family, that embodied New England charm with my NYC roots and sophistication and that is exactly what we got with The Inn. Marliee and Richard were great to work with and gave you a wide array of vendors that were equally as professional. Chef Michael prepared an excellent feast each night and catered to our and our parties unique preferences. The weekend wasnt even complete and we were talking about when we would be coming back. It was a weekend to remember and the only thing I can say about it when anyone asks is; "it was perfect". Thank you, thank you, thank you!

A magical event on our most special day.
What an unbelievable experience. We have spent many wonderful evenings at the Inn for dinner, as well as weekends for a quick getaway. It seemed only natural that this would be the place where we would exchange our vows, in an intimate setting under the trees. This was something out of a storybook. The details make the difference. Thanks to Marilee and Richard, our day was so magnificent, and more memorable than I could have imagined. We are so grateful.
