About the Owner...
Like any of our masterpiece weddings, Once Upon a Dream ~ Bridal Consulting began as a dream. Catherine Ann Young, Founder and Lead Consultant, sought to do meaningful work for good people, while pursuing her business ideas and passion for design. After years of searching for this fulfillment in architecture, she realized she wanted to create her own opportunity. Catherine began to search elsewhere, hoping to bring dreams to reality and create something special and dear to her clients’ hearts.
It was in weddings that she found what she was seeking. Catherine was delighted to use the same skills she had developed as an architect to communicate the plans for her own special day. She created a complete set of wedding design drawings which she used to coordinate every detail. Many wedding professionals said that she was the most organized and detail oriented bride they had ever seen! Catherine embraced her new found talent, and began planning weddings for her friends and family. Thus, Once Upon a Dream ~ Bridal Consulting was born.
Beyond the design, coordination, and details, Catherine found that weddings celebrate one of lifes most precious gifts... Love. A wedding is supremely dear and meaningful to each couple as they embark on the adventure of marriage. Catherine hopes to be a part of weddings always, to help other couples celebrate their love, and to bring dream days to life for many others.

Hiring Catherine was by far the best decision we made. I could not have imagined a better person to work with or a more perfect wedding day. We first approached Catherine because we knew we wanted to get married at home, in San Diego, but we lived in Maryland, and trying to plan a wedding from the other side of the country was proving to be a very difficult task for us. Once we contacted Catherine she immediately set to work helping us get ideas for what we wanted, setting up a budget, and putting together a timeline for us, so we knew exactly what we needed to do. The entire process from setting a budget, to discussing venues, to talking with vendors, and coming up with a seating chart was so easy! I can honestly say that I was not stressed at any point during our wedding planning, not even the week before. And the day of the wedding was absolutely perfect, from the decorations, which Catherine put together, to the flawless movement of vendors throughout the day. If you are looking for a planner who is easy to work with, is extremely organized and ready to help you in any way they can, I highly urge you to give Catherine a call and talk with her. I was worried we couldn’t pull off a wedding in San Diego on the budget we had, but Catherine worked tirelessly to make sure we had a wedding we were happy with, and I can say that our wedding day was by far the best day of my life. The entire experience of working with Catherine was incredible. She was always available through email and phone calls, and she kept us on track and organized. The whole experience was incredible. Like I said, hiring Catherine was the best decision we made when it came to our wedding.

Catherine and her team did an amazing job organizing, planning, and implementing all of the many special details of my wedding this past August! She took time to meet with me, understand the specific details and desires I had in mind for my special day, and also give me the guidance and expert advice I needed in order for my big day to go as smoothly as possible! On my big day, as luck would have it, one of my vendors experienced some issues and actually arrived to the venue much later than planned. Catherine still made the day go perfectly and because she is so good at what she does, I had no idea (nor did my guests) that any issues had even occurred (until a few weeks later of course)! My day went so smoothly and every detail was covered, thanks to Catherine and the amazing team at Once Upon a Dream! Thank you Catherine again, for an amazing day!
