Skip started the business with his wife, Laurie. He has over 8 years of experience planning, coordinating, and performing at rehearsals, weddings, and receptions, in addition to birthday and gradaution parties. He has a love for what he does that many do not. He is our only full-time DJ and does not do it as a hobby. He is licensed as a DJ, entertainer, and ordained minister, and is also an amateur photographer/videographer and seconds for his wife, Laurie, in their photography business. He is a former IT professional and does all the editing for their photography. Skip just doesn't DJ your wedding. He gets involved every step of the way from booking to the end of the reception and treats his couples as friends, not just clients. He strives to exceed expectations at each and every wedding, attempting to always get as close to a "perfect" day for you as humanly possible.

Laurie started the business with her husband and DJ, Skip. Together, they strive to be the best in the business, constantly honing and improving their skills to exceed their clients' expectations. She assists Skip in his weddings and performs the basic video recording for him when she is not the photographer.

Laurie founded Star-Crossed Photography, LLC, with her husband, who acts as a second at their weddings. Laurie has always loved photography, and a few years after Northern Lights Entertainment was founded, she began doing some photography at some of the weddings Skip was the DJ. After being the sole photographer at three weddings in 2017 and 2018, she began to study professional wedding photography. In 2019, the business was incorporated and all the professional equipment was purchased. She continued to study over the winter off-season and began booking for 2020.

Of course, 2020 was a horrible year, and all her weddings cancelled or rescheduled except one. She is looking forward to helping Skip and Northern Lights fulfill the dreams of couples and their special days by photographing many weddings to come in the future.

Jim has been with Northern Lights Entertainment since it's inception. Jim has been in the wedding and entertainment business for over 20 years and was actually the mentor of Skip, one of the owners. Jim operates at the same high level of service that is expected at NLE and has 100% 5-star reviews with wonderful compliments for all the weddings he has done for us.

Jim is a veteran and actively served in the Army in Kuwait. He loves his country and respects our veterans. He also does events for schools and non-profit organizations, including MS Walk and MS Bike Michigan for the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation of America. He is passionate about everything he does, and our couples love working with him.
