Northern Lights Entertainment went above and beyond to be there for us on our wedding day. They showed up early to set up audio for our ceremony, discussed details with the appropriate individuals, and helped MC the reception like the seasoned pros they are. We were able to meet Skip and Laurie for a brunch a few weeks or so before our big day to get introduced and review important details. This included our wants and not wants, their restrictions (profane music in family settings), and our schedule for the wedding. Meeting up with them before really helped us feel comfortable. It gave us peace of mind knowing our DJ/MC was very aware of what we wanted for the day, as well as when and where they were needed at all times throughout the day. On the day of our wedding, after showing up early to set up and get a lay of our venue, we were again comforted as I (the groom) was able to see everything they got ready for the evening well before we even got things going. The ceremony went by without any hiccups to audio, and after my beautiful bride and I walked down the aisle as a married couple, Skip played us out and instructed everyone there when and how to exit - as well as where to go for cocktail hour etc. Our intro in to the reception was fairly seamless. We had an issue where my bride's dress shoulder strap broke when I hugged her during our grand entrance. Skip saw us signal there was an issue as we walked out to get it handled, and he very smoothly transitioned in to a period of music while letting everyone know there was a slight wardrobe malfunction. We returned and he was right back in to it without missing a beat. It should be noted as well that our reception was a traditional Indian celebration which he was able to MC just as easily as any traditional western reception. Throughout the evening Skip was able to roll with the slight changes, issues, and overall flow of the night. We had a great time with our guests until we had to leave, and Northern Lights Entertainment provided a great atmosphere for the rest of the evening. We are incredibly grateful to Skip and Laurie and the DJ/MC services they provided us. We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a professional, experienced, and family friendly DJ/MC. Skip & Laurie were very friendly and professional from the beginning. We hired them because they were cheaper and had a nice add on package for a video. They recorded our ceremony, and our reception. It was so nice to go back and rewatch our special day! Skip will go over the top for you. You can email him a question at any time and he will usually reply pretty fast. My husband even called him a few times randomly and he answered. Skip will also get out on the dance floor with you! 😁 We had a lot of fun and would hire again! He works with you for anything you need or want. We even added his lights last minute! They are super easy going, and I'm so glad we picked Northern Lights Entertainment. -

Skip and Laurie are so easy going and professional. Having them to talk to and bounce ideas off of was helpful! The flexibility and wisdom they have when it comes to weddings made our day smooth and enjoyable. Everyone wanted to know who our dj was and why he was the first onto the dance floor. Skip’s moves definitely encouraged our guests to get up and groove. Laurie behind the camera was awesome! She got all the best moments. Our friends and family are excited to see the footage of the wedding! We would definitely have Skip and Laurie DJ for us again, 10/10. Thank you!! -

Skip and Laurie are the sweetest people you were ever met! We originally had a different DJ, but the cancelled on us 2 months ish before it’s wedding. I found Skip on wedding wire and my now husband and I met him and his wife for lunch to sit down and talk about pricing and what they had to offer. I am so grateful he had our date open! I was the most indecisive bride and he worked so well with me! Skip also helped me out with the time lining of my ceremony, because I had no idea what I was doing. He really knows how to keep everybody out on the dance floor! My guests complimented on how well our DJ was! I highly, highly recommend Skip to be a vendor at any wedding/event! -

Flexible, Kind, professional & Phenominal!
Skip was the DJ for our wedding on Macinaw Island. My wife (Brittany) had changed songs for the ceremony as well as the reception, many times and Skip was always understanding and a joy to work with. When were getting ready for our grand entrance to the reception, Skip quickly reviewed the plan for the evening and when songs were to be played. Brittany modified some items from what Skip had documented and he changed them willingly and said “hey, I said you could make changes day of, no worries, I got it!”. At the event, he talked with guest, with my
Wife and I, and was all around a pleasure to have DJ our event. I cannot recommend him enough! -

It started out so rough, we were ahead of schedule, my reception was outdoors AND IT WAS RAINING 😂 but thanks to Skip. Saved the day. Was both extremely flexible with scheduling/ timeline and did a fantastic job at getting/keeping the crowd going!! Even in the rain! 🌦️🤣
Just overall amazing job! Well worth the money! And my entire family loved him! He fit right in! 💙

We worked with Skip and Laurie for our July wedding this year (yes, in the midst of a hot sunny day and Covid-19). Skip was the wedding DJ and also helped us coordinate the wedding day. He was very organized, responsive, and helpful right from the beginning and throughout. On the wedding day, he arrived and setup at the venue well in advance. He also did a great job as the DJ and even lead the small group with the line dance every now and then! We are happy with our decision to work with Skip for our special day and would highly recommend him (and the team) to help with yours! -

Our special day was a total surprise to my husband and Eric was able to make it happen on short notice. Eric made it extra special. He wrote a special vow for us. Everything in the vow was about us and our life. Eric puts a lot of Love in his vows. Laurie did a awesome video which we will always cherish. We would highly recommend Eric & Laurie Westmoreland. We Love them. -

We had the most wonderful experience with NLE (Northern Lights Entertainment). From the very start Skip was incredibly helpful with all wedding details. Hiring him to officiate and provide the music for the entire wedding/reception made things SO EASY! Two huge items checked off my wedding to do list! He answered all my my 47 emails incredibly fast and let me be as involved or uninvolved with my music choices and ceremony as I wanted to be. I was one to be VERY involved and he had no problem answering to my every need for the special day and everything leading up to our special day! I can't recommend him enough and know you will have the same experience as I did!
