Nestled next to a state park and Holyoke Canal Walk, the venue boasts sublime views year-round. This vibrant event space encourages couples to use their imagination and create a celebration that is individual to them.
Facilities and Capacity
At Mill 1 at Open Square, each detail in the architecture has been carefully tended to. The brick walls were finished and restored during the remodel for an industrial vibe. Above, the wood beams and tall ceilings create an open atmosphere. The building features gorgeous maple floors that complement a variety of wedding themes. The amenities in the event spaces are modern, and there is also a bespoke bar. Natural light pours into the room and illuminates celebrations with a soft glow, thanks to the large windows. As night settles in after the sun dips below the horizon, visible from the windows, the venue can be lit in multiple ways. Fairy lights or lanterns, for example, provide an ethereal mood, while market lighting offers a classic touch to the space. Up to 250 guests can be invited to a gala held at this venue. The space can be configured to fit seating, a dance floor, and an entertainment area.

I traveled from out of town to photograph a wedding here and the the place is amazing. There was a lot to offer both inside the venue and it's surrounding neighborhood. The bride and groom wanted a rustic/ industrial feel to their wedding and Mill 1 was the perfect place. The staff was great and went above and beyond to make sure that everything ran smoothly. I would most definitely recommend this venue to anyone looking the a rustic type of feel.
Maggie at Mill 1 is a pleasure to work with. She's prompt and professional while also being easy-going and creative. Her enthusiasm and skill for her work shines through in all her interactions. Mill 1 is an incredible event space as well. The intimate ceremony site as well as the reception area are totally one of a kind in the area...a real gem!
I'm a huge fan of the old mills, and Mill 1 in Holyoke is just gorgeous! Their rooms have been renovated, the wood floors shiny and bright, but there is still the look and feel of the old mills. Walking in the buildings I like to envision it is a hundred years ago, with the hustle and bustle of the workers moving around, and the sound of machines humming. So much history, and now, so much charm! A real treasure!
