Julie and Jake met through a series of fortuitous events, which inspired us to base their wedding event identity on the concept of time. Their New Year’s Eve nuptials are announced through this accordion folded invitation. Illustrious clocks and event information are silk-screened onto deep chocolate cover stock. The ceremony program followed this aesthetic with an accordion construction. Additionally, Mélangerie designed a delicate clock with a customized face to serve as the wedding cake topper.

A gift of hand-picked products from San Francisco (the wedding location) was placed in each guests’ hotel room along with a customized pocket-map noting the couple’s favorite restaurants and activities in the city.

For the couple’s “save the date” we used imagery from a vintage postcard of the bride and groom’s event location. The front of the card features a vintage illustration of the casino, and the back includes original postage marks from the vintage piece. We added event information to the back of the postcard in classic, archived typefaces for a charming yet easy to produce save the date card.

Throughout her life, all generations of Rena’s family have come together over wonderful meals prepared by her loving hands. So for Rena’s 90th birthday we created this custom book of everyone’s favorite recipes, along with a spice box containing the appropriate seasonings with which to make them. Rena’s family is of Middle Eastern descent, so the recipe book was entitled “Mazza,” which means “small plates” in arabic. Recipe books accompanied by spice boxes were tied with chocolate ribbon and positioned at each guest’s place-setting.

Oscar and Olivia tied the knot in St. John in the US Virgin Islands. Mélangerie helped welcome guests to the festivities by creating a mélange of beach day essentials “for two”. Packaged in a beach tote, guests received a two-person towel, vintage copies of the classic beach reads “Robinson Crusoe” and “Swiss Family Robinson”, St. John’s native Cruise Bay Rum wrapped with a mixed drink recipe, sunscreen, and of course, sustenance: bottled Fiji water and two bananas. Each component of the gift was labeled with whimsical tags, beckoning guests to frolic in the sand and savor their tropical getaway.

Stacey & Oz were married in NYC in July of 2008. This mélange featured a few of their favorite New York treats, as well as a Black Book NYC guide, and a custom wedding itinerary including locations of all the wedding events and a handful of Stacey & Oz's favorite places to eat, shop, and enjoy NYC.

We offer our highest praises for Melangerie - they exceeded every expectation!

I didn't realize how special custom invitations were until we did them - they set a distinctive, thoughtful, beautiful tone for everyone way before the event even happens. We got constant compliments on everything they did for us: save the dates, invitations, thank you cards and programs (literally, friends went out of their way to tell us these were the most amazing wedding invitations they had ever seen!) and we were proud to tell people we designed them with Melangerie. This was money well spent.

Both owners met with us several times, educated us on all options, price ranges and designed the most ingenius concepts. They really listened and melded both of our styles. This is a small company with very talented people and nothing falls through the cracks. They kept us on schedule and in passing conversation even gave us great ideas for projects they weren't even working on for us. They are a great resource.

We will be working with them on post wedding projects too.

Elana and Julie did an AMAZING job with the welcome gifts for our wedding this past July.

We got married in Brooklyn, NY and they designed a fabulous custom mélange (like a gift basket, but way more nicely designed) that included products from our favorite Brooklyn shops. The mélange also included an awesome custom guide that featured our wedding event locations, as well as highlights of our favorite places to hang-out, eat & shop in Brooklyn. The packaging was impeccable too...they used vintage tins! All the guests LOVED them and thought they were super thoughtful and well put-together.

Elana and Julie came up with the perfect invitations and materials for our wedding. Before getting started they asked us all about ourselves and our wedding. Then we all brainstormed some ideas together, and they came back with great designs to choose from.

Throughout the whole project they were attentive and easy to work with. We love the way they took our ideas and turned them into something that reflects us and our wedding.
