What is the story behind Makeup by Ana B?

Makeup by Ana B began as a one-woman show in 2012 as Ana launched her freelance makeup business, after having worked as an artist for MAC Cosmetics. Fast forward to now, the company has flourished into a collaborative team of beauty artists known as MAB Artistry, with a studio space in the heart of Tysons Corner, Virginia, and hundreds of glowing reviews including “Best Makeup Studio” by Modern Luxury Magazine in 2022-2024 and "Best Hairstylists and Makeup Artists" by Washingtonian Brides in 2025.

MAB Artistry is the recipient of WeddingWire’s Couples Choice and Bride’s Choice Award for twelve consecutive years (2012-2025), providing luxury beauty services for Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia and beyond specializing in natural and glam beauty looks.

Absolutely AMAZING — They Made Me Feel Stunning!

I cannot say enough amazing things about **Mindy and Shirley**! They did an absolutely AMAZING job on my wedding day. I felt so stunning, confident, and completely like myself. They truly captured the full look and feel I had envisioned and somehow made it even better than I imagined!

From the trial, I knew they were the perfect choice. **Mindy absolutely nailed my hair, and Shirley made my makeup flawless.** They were both so professional, calming, and SO much fun to be around—which is exactly the energy you want on your wedding morning!

They made getting ready such a fun and special part of my wedding day. Not only did they make me feel incredible, but they also created the most beautiful looks for all of my bridesmaids. Everyone looked and felt amazing!

I’m so grateful I had Mindy and Shirley there on such an important day. Their talent, energy, and personalities made the whole experience unforgettable. I would recommend them a million times over!!

Shirley & Uzma are amazing!

I booked H&MU for myself and 4 other people for the morning of my wedding, and was so happy with the team at MAB! Uzma and Shirley added amazing energy to the day, and were responsive leading up to it as well.
A few months before I did a trial for myself and MOB & MOG, which ended up being super helpful. Would definitely recommend if you’re considering!

Thank you nour!

I’m so grateful for MAB Artistry because it led me to Nour! She is an incredible makeup artist. I wanted a glamorous look but still wanted to feel like myself, and she absolutely delivered. Even my bridesmaids said their makeup was the best they’ve ever had. One of them even mentioned that she preferred her bridesmaid makeup at my wedding over her own wedding makeup! Nour is so sweet and truly listens to what you’re looking for. I can’t recommend her enough and will definitely book her again in the future!

Excellent!

I was very happy with MAB artistry! I loved my makeup trial at the studio and found all of the makeup artists the bridal party worked with to be very good - professional, on time, and attentive. My wedding makeup still looked like me - not overdone.

Amazing hair and makeup team

I booked this vendor at the advice of a friend who manages weddings and has seen their work a lot. I was assigned Alina and Marina for my wedding and they were incredible. The trial was easy and straightforward and I walked out with exactly what I wanted. On the wedding day they nailed both my hair and makeup and everything held up perfectly. They also did hair and makeup for my two bridesmaids, my mom, and my stepmom. Everyone looked great and felt comfortable, and they handled their very specific preferences without any issues. The whole team was professional, organized, and the studio itself is really pretty and welcoming. Highly recommend this vendor.

Truly exceptional service!!

Shirley and Uzma made my day so very special!! They were on time, and very pleasant to work with! They managed to complete my giant wedding party’s make up and hair on time and did exactly what we asked! My hair and make up came out exactly as I wanted and when I saw the pictures, I was stunned how pretty my make up and hair! They truly exceeded my expectations and I am SO glad I booked them for both hair and make up services. My wedding party members were similarly thrilled. They were super fast, flexible and considerate of our individual needs. I will absolutely book Shirley and Uzma again, and well done MAB team!! Definitely recommend!

A Talented and Professional Beauty Team

I couldn’t have asked for a better hair and makeup team for my wedding day! They arrived right on time, were so professional and friendly, and kept everything running smoothly according to our schedule. After my trial, I requested a few changes to my look, and they took my feedback perfectly, the final result was exactly what I envisioned. On the wedding day, they flawlessly recreated the styles for both myself and my bridal party, perfectly matching the inspiration photos we had shared.

Highly Recommend!

I booked MAB team for my wedding day for both myself and my wedding party! I couldn't be happier with how everyone's hair and makeup turned out. From the beginning process of booking with their company all the way up to wedding day morning they were overly flexible, friendly, professional and a fun group to work with! I had a large wedding party with a short getting ready timeframe and without hesitation the MAB team were ready and eager to make it all work for me! I had the privilege of working with Ester, Norma and Marina for hair and Shirley and Ayrehl for makeup. They all did an excellent job and I would highly recommend MAB company to any future bride!

Makeup by AnaB were phenomenal!

I got married on 10/5/25 and had the pleasure of working with Lexi, Nour and Lucy for hair and makeup services for the bride, bridesmaids and MOB/MOG, They all did a wonderful job and were fun and professional! They are all clearly experts at their art and were so nice. I would definitely recommend MAB and hire them again for future events!

Absolutely Astounding Work!

Makeup by Ana B (or MAB) was completely worth the money. Cynthia and Gabby were absolutely great at bringing together the look I wanted for the wedding, and did a fabulous job on my bridesmaids' and husband's groomsmaiden's makeup and hair. I was particularly in love with my hair, but the makeup job made me feel like a princess. If you are looking to get makeup done, go here.
