My experience with this designer was very positive. I feel secure in my choice.

We just placed our order yesterday....however, my experience here was amazing!! Claire was so great to work with...not pushy, super honest, she literally listened to all of our questions, and made us all feel so comfortable. After deciding on the dresses she helped us select the perfect petticoats and sashes. As the bride to be, I can’t tell you how easy she made shopping for our bridesmaid dresses online. I’m even going to have her design my wedding dress because I absolutely fell in love The Chloe Halter!! She took care of EVERYTHING. Be sure to buy fabric swatches as her studio has so many amazing colors, you’ll just love it. My bridesmaids can’t wait to get their dresses, we went with custom necklines and my bridesmaids all chose their favorite styles. Everyone is happy and I can't wait to get our dresses!

Do Your Research

I've been hoping to get dresses from this shop for over two years, but I had to wait because we weren't getting married right away when I found the original shop, Hardley Dangerous. It seemed perfect, custom everything, swatches, etc.

I waited until end of last year to start following up, but there was a lengthy period where the shop and all social media around it disappeared. It seemed odd, and freaked me out. I trusted it anyway, ordered the swatches and they came quickly, with a personal note, stickers, etc.

Then the prices kept changing on the site, the site name kept changing and being "not found" and then popping up elsewhere, which was so confusing.

There are no real reviews from brides anywhere to be found and the items on offer have changed so many times that I didn't know what was going on.

I tried to message through various means, email, insta, etc, with no responses at all.

Flicking through Etsy, I found a completely different shop, with an unrelated name, selling the same items and being updated, saying they'd been on there since 2016! No real reviews on it, only two sales, etc.

I decided I couldn't risk my wedding day being ruined by an unstable shop, as a bride and someone putting bridesmaids money at risk, I don't trust it, unfortunately even though it may be legit, until the shop is more stable, I wouldn't recommend to anyone at this time if you want to relax and be reassured your wedding attire won't be subject to change on a whim's notice.

I hated writing this, but I don't want another bride to go through this worry when I could help and suggest they do their research thoroughly first.

Disappeared!

In June 2018 I submitted an order through the store on Etsy for a grooms' gal dress for my close friend's wedding. When I checked in a month later for a proof and a status update I received an automated message that the store was closed. I gave her a few weeks to respond or reopen, then used Etsy dispute resolution to get my refund, which was processed over two months after ordering and paying. None of us (6) received our dresses, forcing us to find a last-minute replacement. I never received any correspondence from Claire about this incident. I would avoid this vendor, but if you have already submitted an order, make sure to request a proof and check in regularly about the status of your order.

Fraud - do not believe

Wow this situation has really evolved and so I have decided it best to include the whole story.

When I first discovered Claire she was operating under the name of "Hardly Dangerous Couture". I was incredibly excited about the dress options she offered. We were planning a wedding with two grooms and six "grooms gals" and Claire's dresses were exactly what we were hoping for. Initially, I ordered two fabric swatches from Claire. These came in very quickly. Our ladies were distributed across both the US and Canada and so we told the girls which dresses to order in order to simplify shipping.

After four weeks of not hearing back from Claire, we got concerned. The wedding was approaching and we had no dresses. We attempted to reach out to Claire over email and through her site, but she would no longer respond to our messages. We attempted to reach out to Etsy (the platform we had gone through) but they also could not provide any updates. With only four weeks until the wedding, we had no choice but to buy dresses elsewhere.

Given the stress of wedding planning I was incredibly frustrated by the dead end and started to do some digging. I soon discovered that "world renowned Claire" had a large number of reviews from single-review anonymous accounts. Her Etsy account had been suspended and her webpage taken down. Google searches actually return a scary low number of results for someone who is so "world-renowned". I was also able to find a previous business she had operated under known as "Moonboot Studios" with the same type of followers/reviews that had also gone cold a couple of years prior. It was at this point that we again reached out to Etsy and reported the scam. Two of our girls were able to get refunds from Etsy directly. Enough time had passed that I think the others deemed it not worth the prolonged efforts.

For two years there was no sign of Claire. Then she sent me a marketing email. I reached out to her right away, heated with some harsh words of my own and determined to report her before she could scam more people. At first things went well and she offered to issue a refund for the dresses. I would have been willing to accept the refund for the other girls and distribute it (seeing as this was all my wedding, my planning, my fault). Claire was not keen on the idea and instead wanted to reach out to the girls and refund them directly. She claims to have emailed each of them and to date, not one has actually received an email from her.

Several back and forth emails, and suddenly she snapped and started cursing me, wishing me to go "F..." myself (conversation here: https://imgur.com/gallery/JVT84Ig). My girls are still waiting to hear back about refunds and now she is trying to blame the aggression and vulgarity on me. One should get to feel special on their wedding day, but working with Claire is nothing but disappointment, hassle, and dead ends. At no point has she shown remorse for the hassle that she has caused me and instead, wrote me a diatribe about how she had been wronged by her ex-husband and that I should actually feel sorry for her. If you're lucky she'll make up lies about you in order to detract from her own shortcomings.

She doesn't like that I have chosen to take this situation public and is lashing out in retaliation, but alas, that is what these review platforms are intended for.

Best of luck to those who follow.
