We are so so incredibly happy we chose Kay as our engagement and wedding photographer. Before working with Kay, I was a bit camera shy and not a fan of photos. Kay's photos made me feel beautiful. Kay was a dream to work with! I mean this in the best way when I say, I had no idea she was there. She’s a photographer that does an excellent job at staying out of the way and not distracting from the wedding itself. I’ve been to weddings where you can’t see the ceremony because the photographer is blocking the view but this wasn’t the case with Kay. She is so subtle but still captured all of the important moments.

My husband and I are so happy with our photos. My favorite photos are the real and authentic candid shots she captured of our guests throughout the entire day. It was so fun to go through our photos and relive the day.

Kay and her husband, Derek, are the best photo team in Tahoe!! When we got engaged I knew right away that I wanted to lock Kay in for our big day. We had our engagement photos at the restaurant where my husband and I had our first date, and Kay recreated our vision perfectly! Then on our wedding day, Kay & Derek captured every moment. Somehow they were everywhere at once and never missed a beat. They exceeded all our expectations and interacted with our family and friends so well. Kay is so personable and made us always feel so comfortable and ourselves. When we got our wedding photos back we cried happy tears loving every single photo! We are so glad we hired Kay & Derek to photograph our wedding. I knew from the moment I saw Kay's Instagram and read her reviews that she would be great, but I was still blown away when I saw the final product. She is so talented at taking raw, emotional photos and turning them into something beautiful. Kay and Derek are truly an amazing duo that was instrumental to our big wedding celebration. Not only is her portfolio absolutely beautiful, but she is an incredibly professional photographer. In our first intro call, we already knew she would be a great match for what we were looking for. She was friendly and warm in her approach and empathetic when we mentioned we're extremely camera shy. She offered articles and tips on how to prepare and loosen up for the engagement shoot and wedding day. Day of, her calming presence really helped me enjoy the day and not take everything so seriously. Her style is natural and organic with some guidance but really allows you to be yourself! She made taking photos super painless! Her and Derek went above and beyond and got so many shots of us with our friends and offered to use our friends phones to capture some good shots for our guests. Cannot recommend them enough!

Choosing a photographer felt like the easiest and most complicated choice all in one. Half of our happy couple is incredibly photogenic and natural in front of the camera and the other half always seems to look mid-sneeze or "yikes" in the eyes when smiling too long. When looking at Kay's enormous portfolio, it was clear that not a single person she and her team have ever captured have come out looking less than magical. It was easy to select her based on her tremendous skill and her familiarity with our venue and the overall larger Tahoe environment in general. She had great ideas of where to stage, how to get me out of my comfort zone, and how to capture the true beauties that are my wife and golden retriever.

At our engagement shoot and on our wedding day, she let us feel naturally in the moment with each other while providing subtle direction to capture us in our best lighting/interactions. After our ceremony, Kay stood in the snow as a wintry mix drizzled down for over an hour and a half to make sure she provided us with the absolute best experience possible.

Despite having been with her throughout the day, we never in a million years expected the photos we received. At all. We knew with our wedding, we would have an experience of a lifetime with the people surrounding us and how that feeling would include the amazing vendors we had the opportunity to work with. When we look at these pictures, we are immediately transported back to every smile, every "edge of tears" word, and every precise feeling we had while being surrounded by all the love we had on that day. Now we are just under the extreme dilemma of which 843920 pictures to pick for albums, prints for the house, and another big canvas to hang!! Kay has given us the gift of being able to relive that day for the rest of their lives and that is a gift that has no equal in appreciative words.

We have these photos as every background possible on all work computers, personal laptops, ipads, and phones. Her work is now part of our home and with that, her gift is part of what will be a daily reminder of the love we have for each other - we are forever grateful for that.
