We are so so incredibly happy we chose Kay as our engagement and wedding photographer. Before working with Kay, I was a bit camera shy and not a fan of photos. Kay's photos made me feel beautiful. She captured all the emotions and her photos are works of art. Plus, she is so kind and fun to work with. I am so grateful we were able to hire her, and I will cherish her photos for a lifetime! -

Kay was a dream to work with! I mean this in the best way when I say, I had no idea she was there. She’s a photographer that does an excellent job at staying out of the way and not distracting from the wedding itself. I’ve been to weddings where you can’t see the ceremony because the photographer is blocking the view but this wasn’t the case with Kay. She is so subtle but still captured all of the important moments.
My husband and I are so happy with our photos. My favorite photos are the real and authentic candid shots she captured of our guests throughout the entire day. It was so fun to go through our photos and relive the day. -

THE BEST!! Amazing Experience and beyond beautiful work!!
Kay and her husband, Derek, are the best photo team in Tahoe!! When we got engaged I knew right away that I wanted to lock Kay in for our big day. We had our engagement photos at the restaurant where my husband and I had our first date, and Kay recreated our vision perfectly! Then on our wedding day, Kay & Derek captured every moment. Somehow they were everywhere at once and never missed a beat. They exceeded all our expectations and interacted with our family and friends so well. Kay is so personable and made us always feel so comfortable and ourselves. When we got our wedding photos back we cried happy tears loving every single photo! We can not thank Kay & Derek enough for capturing each moment.

We are so glad we hired Kay & Derek to photograph our wedding. I knew from the moment I saw Kay's Instagram and read her reviews that she would be great, but I was still blown away when I saw the final product. She is so talented at taking raw, emotional photos and turning them into something beautiful. Her light & airy style is absolutely gorgeous and I could tell how much love and care she put into editing each photo. I've never felt natural posing in front of a camera, but Kay's posing instructions and her sweet, cheerful personality kept us feeling comfortable & relaxed all day. Kay's passion for photography shined through, and I was especially impressed by her willingness to go above and beyond for us. Wedding days are long and photographers are on their feet all day. There were many times when she could've said "good enough" and stopped shooting, but instead she kept trying different angles and poses to get as many good shots as possible. She has an amazing eye and will bring out the best in you & your partner, your wedding party, and your guests!
I can't stop staring at these photos and can't wait to hang them all over the house and look at them for years to come. Choose Kay as your wedding photographer - you won't regret it! -

Choosing a photographer felt like the easiest and most complicated choice all in one. Half of our happy couple is incredibly photogenic and natural in front of the camera and the other half always seems to look mid-sneeze or "yikes" in the eyes when smiling too long. When looking at Kay's enormous portfolio, it was clear that not a single person she and her team have ever captured have come out looking less than magical. It was easy to select her based on her tremendous skill and her familiarity with our venue and the overall larger Tahoe environment in general. She had great ideas of where to stage, how to get me out of my comfort zone, and how to capture the true beauties that are my wife and golden retriever.
At our engagement shoot and on our wedding day, she let us feel naturally in the moment with each other while providing subtle direction to capture us in our best lighting/interactions. After our ceremony, Kay stood in the snow as a wintry mix drizzled down for over an hour and a half to make sure she provided us with the absolute best experience possible.
Despite having been with her throughout the day, we never in a million years expected the photos we received. At all. We knew with our wedding, we would have an experience of a lifetime with the people surrounding us and how that feeling would include the amazing vendors we had the opportunity to work with. When we look at these pictures, we are immediately transported back to every smile, every "edge of tears" word, and every precise feeling we had while being surrounded by all the love we had on that day. Now we are just under the extreme dilemma of which 843920 pictures to pick for albums, prints for the house, and another big canvas to hang!! Kay has given us the gift of being able to relive that day for the rest of their lives and that is a gift that has no equal in appreciative words.
We have these photos as every background possible on all work computers, personal laptops, ipads, and phones. Her work is now part of our home and with that, her gift is part of what will be a daily reminder of the love we have for each other - we are forever grateful for that. Kay's work is simply amazing and truly speaks for itself. Not only is her work top-notch, but she is also an absolute joy to work with. She has a relaxed and easy-going demeanor, allowing the wedding photography to seamlessly blend into the background. At the same time, she made sure to attend to all of our requests and exceeded our expectations. I cannot recommend Kay highly enough and believe she is a true talent in the wedding photography industry.. -

Captured our day beautifully!
I am so happy I booked Kay for our Tahoe wedding - My husband and I are not the type to love individual photoshoots and we find ourselves pretty awkward when we need to pose - Kay made us feel so comfortable in our engagement session and she was a dream on our wedding day. She understands the angles, the lighting in Tahoe, and is able to really capture the best moments.
She flew through our family photos (which was a big ask with how many people we tried to organize) with ease and I'm not sure how she did it, but everyone is looking, eyes open & looks good in the photos, which is rare.
Kay really took the time to get to know us as a couple and captured our day perfectly.
I loved my experience with Kay and highly recommend booking her for your wedding! -

No second guessing, BOOK HER!
If you are looking for light and bright mood boosting photos Kay is hands down the best. The way she edits her photos is magical. We had a chilly winter/early spring wedding. I am also very awkward in front of the camera and neither of these showed in the photos! Kay was very patient with some of the crazy wind gusts. She is kind, responsive and very easy to work with. She was able to capture everything we were hoping for and we received our photos back faster than I expected! I also love that she uses her husband as a second shooter. -

The BEST photographer we could have asked for!
Kay and Derek were a DREAM to work with, they photographed our wedding day and the whole experience was just amazing and seamless. They made us feel comfortable from the engagement session forward and were so easy to work with. We enjoyed getting to know them as people and are SO glad we chose them to shoot our wedding day. Kay is the absolute best photographer and all around person, ever! I cannot say enough good things about her and could not be happier with our decision to hire her (and her husband, Derek!) for our engagement and wedding day photos. From our first interactions in booking, to our first actual meeting at our engagement photo session, Kay made us feel so comfortable and confident. She is so sweet and kind and makes you feel like you’ve been friends for ages! She is also so creative and has the most beautiful, artistic eye. She’s not afraid to get in the weeds to get the perfect shot -- literally, she was pulling up weeds and moving rocks during our wedding first look photos, and climbing rocks / scaling mountains during our engagement photos! She is so great at guiding and encouraging organic movements, so you’ll get the traditional photos you want but also sweet and raw moments. All of our photos turned out SO BEAUTIFUL and we are so, so happy! -

I am overwhelmed by how perfect our wedding photos turned out!! There were several aspects of our big day that made me nervous, but Kay's photography was NOT one of them. And she delivered ten-fold! I’ve actually been following her on Instagram since 2017, so to have her capture our wedding was a dream come true. I can't recommend her enough!

I can't thank Kay enough for capturing my intimate wedding in North Lake Tahoe! She was very patient with my planning process and efficient with her photos, so it didn't feel like the photoshoot was the center of my wedding or dragging on and on. I was still able to be in the moment to connect with my husband and our families. She also balanced the natural vibrant setting of Sand Harbor Beach really well with our portraits- I.e. the background wasn't too washed out. Kay was easy and pleasant while still giving direction to get the best possible photos. Typically, I dislike 9 out of 10 photos of me and honestly feeling happy with my photos was my biggest wedding stress. It's a day with so much meaning and effort and money put into how you look. Kay BLEW US AWAY. We are soooooo thrilled with our photos, we've never looked better. I can't overstate how good she made us look! We've since hired Kay again for another event. She's incredibly talented. She will capture you at your most beautiful. -

Kay and Derek were wonderful to work with and they take incredible photos! This was one of the first vendors we booked because great photos were important to us and it payed off. We're so happy with how all of our photos turned out and everyone who has seen them said they were gorgeous. Would absolutely recommend working with them. Their work is beautiful and unique. -

We are beyond happy with our photos and wedding video! We highly recommend Kay and Derek! They didn’t miss a beat with our requests and made us feel so comfortable! I added some last minute additional shots that I wanted Day of and Kay captured all of it perfectly and was so willing to add the additional ones I wanted! The wedding video was more than we could of asked for! We have watched it multiple times and everyone cried who watched it! You will not be disappointed working with this dynamic duo! -

The absolute BEST decision we made for our wedding was hiring Kay as our photographer. Not only is she extremely talented but she is the sweetest human. Words and 5 stars are NOT ENOUGH to describe how incredible Kay and Derek were to work with.
Right from our first interaction, (which was our engagement photos) they made us feel so comfortable, confident and we built an immediate connection and most importantly, we had FUN together. It was such a pleasure getting to know Kay and Derek and working together, they simply are wonderful people and spectacular photographers.
On our special day, they were pros. They offered endless support, advice, and guidance and through the whole day, we felt confident in there ability to capture our special moments. We received our photos and videos, and we couldn't be happier. These are memories that will last a lifetime and we are just SO THANKFUL for the moments they were able to capture.
If you are lucky enough to have the chance to work with them, DO IT!!! I highly recommend photos and video!!

They were professional but still managed to get our herd of unruly bridesmaids and groomsmen where they needed to be to take some gorgeous photos. Kay managed to get great shots without being obstrusive during the reception. Our bride and groom photos came out amazing and wondering through the sage brush with her to get the best shots was a blast. She even sent us a sneak peek of the photos within a week while we were on our honeymoon which was such a treat. We Highly recommend Kay!

My husband and I didn't get our pictures back until 2 months later and just looking at them, we were able to remember that exact feeling we felt that day! She captured all of our guests and all the little details that we were too busy to notice. I highly recommend kaylynne, she is a rare photographer. You can tell she absolutely loves her job!

We needn't have been concerned at all. The photos from Meghan and Cody's wedding are stunning! Viewing them brought back such emotion and such wonderful memories of the day and the event. Kay was so organized and excellent at preparation and giving everyone directions on that day. We can't thank her enough for the incredible job that she (and Derek) did. They both have a gift and are artists. Their use of the environment, the light, and then sprinkling in a few black and white photos was incredible. We couldn't have made a better choice for photographer than Kay Kroshus!

We had such a blast shooting our engagement pictures with her and cannot wait for her to do our wedding. She is a little ray of sunshine and so easy and fun to work with, she makes you feel like you have known her for years as soon as you meet her. I did a TON of research for our Lake Tahoe wedding photographer, I promise Kay is who has to do your wedding. Her talent is insane and she is super responsive and accommodating. We purchased an engagement & wedding photography package with Kay Kroshus, and the pictures are nothing short of amazing. From the very beginning, Kay made us feel confident that we were making the right decision by hiring her. One worry we initially had when searching for a photographer was finding someone who could who could adequately photograph both my husband and I (he is black and I'm white, which can make correct exposure difficult). Kay explained the process to us, which put us at ease and made our decision much easier. Furthermore, neither of us have had much experience in front of a professional camera lense. That being said, her kind demeanor and knowledge of beautiful photography made us feel comfortable and, quite frankly, she made us look like pros! I cannot wait to hang our photos all over our home. I can say with confidence that you will not be disappointed with your photos or the quality of service that you receive from this amazing photographer. -
