We had the pleasure of working with Love is in the Hair Weddings for our big day, and we couldn’t have been more pleased! As a same-sex couple (with no bride, just two grooms), we wanted to make sure our bridesmaids, moms, aunts, and other important women in our lives felt just as special. Michelle and her Love is in the Hair team are the BEST choice for HMU! There are not even enough kind words for me to express how grateful I am to her and her team! From the beginning, Michelle has seemed like one of my best ensure you feel your best! For my engagement photos, I decided last-minute I wanted HMU and she graciously worked me into her day. Love is in the Hair is very responsive to emails, texts, and all communication. I felt like I was a true Tahoe bride from that point on! I knew I was in good hands for my wedding HMU with Michelle! She made me feel so beautiful by accentuating my natural features. I typically don’t wear a lot of make-up day-to-day and she knew exactly what kind of HMU would be best. My mom came with me for my HMU trial. We showed her a few Instagram and Pinterest inspiration photos and Michelle began her magic! We had so much fun with Michelle and it got us even more excited in the month leading up to the wedding. She was showing us which products work best and why. We gave me several tips on make-up application. She is so wonderful! She has a passion for HMU and you can tell. She sincerely listens to what you want and has the expertise to bring it to fruition.
Michelle did my HMU for my rehearsal dinner and for my wedding. I felt so relaxed and had so much fun with her and the Love is in the Hair team. I completely trust her and she is a true professional. She knows that this is your big day and makes you feel and look like your most beautiful self! Michelle gave me a blow-out for my rehearsal that would have lasted the entire weekend! I have super straight hair and she has figured out the secret to giving me beautiful beach curls. I loved it. For my wedding, she created this chic, classic chignon with intricate twists that added volume and accentuated my highlights. Nicole and Dori were amazing; my bridesmaids can’t stop raving about them! A lot of my bridesmaids said this was their best wedding HMU experience ever! My bridesmaids and mom felt so special and were STUNNING! The Love is in the Hair team are so talented and up-to-date on the latest and best techniques and trends. We had 8 people total for both hair and makeup, and they were able to tailor to each of our preferences, dress color, personality, and hair/skin type. They gave my bridal party a glowy, natural, and cohesive look.

I honestly don't even know where to begin, I have so many positive things to say about Love Is In The Hair and Michelle. The moment I inquired, I knew my wedding day hair and makeup dreams would come true. Email communication with Love Is In The Hair was responsive, informative, honest, organized, and made this type-A bride relax a bit. Michelle is beyond talented - I chose to do a H&MAU trial (with the MOB in tow) and we left raving about the outcome/how much we loved Michelle! The Love Is In The Hair team was such a pleasure to be with on our wedding day, my bridesmaids and VIPs were raving about the team - everyone was obsessed with their H&MAU/we left the day wanting to be 'real life' friends with the girls. Michelle created the most enviable messy, low chignon for my updo, it was perfection! I had such a wonderful time working with Michelle. She was amazing. I love how she listened to what I wanted and gave me honest feedbacks about my vision of how I would look on my wedding day.
First off, highly recommend that you do a trial first. I initially wasn’t planning to have one but after some convincing I decided to come in for a trial. My trial went well. I liked how I looked and I was so glad to meet Michelle. We got along really well. She had said that now she knows how my hair was she had some ideas for the wedding day. Also she told me to make sure to keep hydrated and keep my skin moisturized. Im so glad I listened to her.
On my wedding day, I was expecting to have the same look but it turned out to be more than what I expected. Michelle had said that she was going to do some changes based on my feedback to her and that it would look great. I trusted her completely and I was not mistaken. She knows how my hair was and I got the look that I have envisioned with some added touch. The placement of my veil was perfect. My make up was amazing. I was going for a “glowy” look and light make up, sort of a no make up look. She was able to achieve that. My skin was glowing and she highlighted my features perfectly.
She truly made me feel beautiful and I think thats what every bride want to feel on their wedding day.

Also Michelle’s team were great. My mom who is always hard to please got off the make chair looking so happy and beautiful. They also did a great job on the rest if the bridal party.

I’ve never felt so good about myself in my life. Michelle did my hair and makeup for our wedding in San Diego and she made magic happen. As someone with a tendency to shy away from wearing too much makeup, I was worried about not looking like myself on such an important day. I expressed this to Michelle, and she assured me that she specializes in natural looking makeup and that she can tailor the look to each client’s preferences.

My expectations for what I would look like on my wedding day were surpassed by a long shot. Everyone was talking about my skin - how I was “glowing” and looked “radiant.” My mom, who has a tendency to be brutally honest when it comes to my appearance, couldn’t stop telling me how beautiful I looked. And my hair! I showed Michelle three photos from Pinterest and she created a work of art. I liked my hair more than the photos. I was originally planning to use extensions, but didn’t need them. Her technique was so elaborate; I couldn’t believe it was my own hair. The style went perfectly with my dress and the venue (a castle). My dad cried when first he saw me, and so did the groom. The best part is that I felt like myself, and yet I also felt like a queen the entire night (and everything stayed in place too).

On a day that can sometimes bring a lot of stress, it was so great to have absolutely zero stress when it came to how I looked. I’m so grateful to Love is in the Hair. I can’t wait to see the photos.

Michelle and her team are incredible! I felt so lucky to have found them for my Lake Tahoe wedding. All of my girls, mother, and mother-in-law loved their looks on the big day! On the morning of, Michelle was so great at keeping me calm, relaxed, and helped me remember to have fun during all the chaos of a wedding morning. I can’t thank Michelle and her amazing team enough for making my entire bridal party look absolutely gorgeous!! Stefani and her team were phenomenal to work with on my wedding day. What stood out to me the most was her professionalism. There are a ton of great makeup/hair artists out there, (which Stefani is one of them), but to make a bride feel relaxed on her wedding day is an additional skill that is SO necessary.
