Without Kym, I have no idea how my wedding would have run as smoothly as it did. She was absolutely on top of everything and made sure that our wishes were carried out exactly as we had discussed during the months prior to our wedding. If there was a problem during our wedding, we didn't even hestitate to worry about it because we knew it would be dealt with care and rationale.
Kym has an extensive network of vendors that she can recommend. When it comes to referrals and recommendatins, I take her suggestions on a high pedstal as I know her expectations and level of service are high.
She helped us find vendors, best rate, best quality, and saved us so much money as there were details that my husband and I missed in our contract. From day one of meeting her and seeing her organizer and how specific with questions she asked, I knew I was able to trust in her as I would not do for many people as I've seen and read horror stories on blogs!
If you are on the fence about hiring a day-of coordinator, talk to Kym. Her initial consultation is no-obligation, and afterwards you'll have a great idea of what a day-of coordinator can do for you and whether or not you want one. (You probably do, unless you have a hyper-organized friend who can stand up to pushy people and is willing to take on the stress of making sure your wedding day comes off perfectly or a really really simple wedding.) We decided it was worth the money to let our friends enjoy themselves at our wedding since it was a friends and family reunion as well for the most part.
While she can't guarantee that your vendors will do what you hired them to do, she can make sure that they make it right. She will make sure that the stuff you want to take back home is taken. She will run your wedding rehearsal if you need her to. She will confirm your vendors the week of the wedding. She will arrive at the venue before the vendors do and make sure things are set up properly, and set out your table decorations. (She also helped with decorating our venue, helped light our tealights as our florist set up early and our wedding wasn't until evening, and the hotel would not take liability to do so because it was not their candles.
I recommend her services without hesitation. I'm confident several people at our wedding would too.
I assure you that I write this unsolicited letter of support, recommendation, promotion, or reference for the phenomenal service that was provided to myself and my husband. In the weeks leading up to and on the day of our wedding. As a Technical writer and my husband a Physician by profession, I tend to have a very high attention to detail and expect perfection from others, and I can honestly say without reservation that Kym ensured that our wedding met every expectation. The fact that her service was priced so incredibly reasonably relative to her competitors made it even more impressive. You would think that the more you spend, the better level of service you'd receive but as far as I'm concerned, my friends spent double of what Kym quoted us and nearly lost their minds practically being assistants to planners or having to actually GUIDE THE PLANNER!
Because I did a substantial amount of research and planning as well, , we elected to hire Kym and her sister Susan as a "day of" coordinator(s). In that role, she was responsible for coordinating the perfect integration among the venue (Immaculata Parish, San Diego), the florist (traveling San Marcos), the photographers by the minute (True Photography, Solana Beach), the music, ridiculously entertaining games, the cake (Edelweiss Bakery hotel preferred vendor), the bridal party (who got dressed at a hotel), the grooms party (who flew in different times, day, states), and setting up the 13 guests tables for the 130 guests. This was in addition to ensuring a smooth flow throughout the photography sessions, ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception.
Although hired as a "day of" coordinator, Kym was in constant communication with us during the weeks leading up to the wedding and offered valuable advice in regards to our timeline, ideas for set-up, and contacted all of our vendors. She ran our rehearsal the day before the event, and she was present for over 13 hours on the day of the wedding with 1 additional assistant, her sister Susan that does wedding coordinating as well! Most importantly, because we were on a strict budget, all of this cost, quite literally, a fraction of the quotes that we had received from other popular San Diego wedding coordinators from reviewing yelp, going to conventions, asking around...
Both at the event and since the wedding, we have received multiple compliments from family and friends regarding how professional, calm, and organized Kym is (was). My mother in law just absolutely adored her and knew her personality was so similar to mine as far as how I wanted things done, she felt at ease as well and for me, that was such a relief!
Without question, Kym was the best coordinator we could possibly have hired. There is literally nothing that could have run smoother during the wedding, and we thank her for being so organized, keeping us on time, and doing so in a very professional and pleasant manner.
My experience working with Kym is the best I have ever experienced for an event planner. The way she interacted with me and my guests will earn her multiple personal referrals for as long as she continues this line of work.
Thank you for making our wedding as PERFECT and a fairytale as I envisioned for so long!
