About
Every couple has a story. And as a photographer, it's my job to translate that story into beautiful photographs. Thats why I love what I do. I'm passionate about meeting new people, and learning whats underneath the surface. Connecting with my subjects in this way not only helps me understand just how the couple imagines their wedding day, but also breaks the limitations of the labels client and vendor. Rather than distance myself from my subjects, I become friends with them, often meeting up for coffee or just to hang out well after business hours are over.
Before I started photographing weddings, I shot sports, landscapes, and everything in between. Because I've never been formally trained, I haven't had any particular stylistic limitations forced upon me. I've developed my own sense of the aesthetics of photography, an innate appreciation for discovering the natural beauty in everything. My past experiences include photographing for newspapers, magazines, art galleries, university athletic departments, and more -- all of which helped me sharpen my craft. I'm now a proud member of Wedding & Portrait Photographers International, and of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals. Because of my lifelong dedication to photography, I'm now able to travel around the country to conferences led by the world's best photographers, constantly learning the newest techniques and technologies.
Instead of arranging, I observe. I believe people look their best when they aren't aware of the camera. This photojournalistic approach to capturing weddings allows people to stop thinking about what they look like, and allows them to be themselves. However, I still allow time for artistic portraits to be taken at the wedding. I am flexible and always willing to listen and learn from my clients, after all, it's their story I'm telling.
