Every wedding, or vow renewal, ceremony is unique, designed with the participants so that it will be a memorable event for them and for their guests. Some weddings have very religious overtones, while some include religious aspects but are more secular. The ceremonies reflect the participants, the most important people attending. No two ceremonies have ever been the same.
A perfect choice for interfaith or same-sex weddings.

Words Cannot Describe the Special Feeling that Skip Imparted on our Ceremony
Skip brought a sense of uniqueness, tenderness, and wit to our ceremony that I truly believe we could not have achieved with anyone else. The serious and heartfelt moments were complemented by small moments of humor and warmth that kept our guests entertained throughout the approximately 30 minute ceremony. We cannot overstate how much we would recommend you choose Skip for your wedding. If you want someone who is understanding, helpful, and genuinely kind, this is your guy.Sent on 08/11/2019

He led a beautiful ceremony, and made it uniquely ours.
Just shy of five years ago, Reverend Skip officiated the wedding of my sister and brother-in-law. After witnessing first hand Skip's friendly and warm personality, and sense of humor, I knew he would be someone I would remember for my big day. I was thrilled when I reached out to Skip and he told me he was available for our June 30th wedding. Leading up to the big day, he was wonderful to work with. So responsive, and so helpful with our questions about the marriage license process. After a phone call and a meeting in person, he took what he learned about us as a couple and weaved it through the ceremony he wrote to make it uniquely ours. He also helped us select readings for our two young ceremony readers. On our wedding day he made our ceremony so special with his sentiments and storytelling, and he reminded us to really stop and absorb the moment that we are pronounced husband and wife. Surrounded by our loved ones, it truly was a magical time and Skip made sure we would remember it always.Sent on 07/11/2019

Skip is the Best!
Skip was the best! My husband and I weren’t sure what we really wanted for our ceremony. We wanted a little bit of everything- not too much of this, not too little of that. Skip had all the answers. He is so knowledgeable and helpful and was so fun to work with. We sat down with him at the start of our planning process and it was so easy to talk to him. He made us feel so comfortable and he really took the time to get to know us. After our first meeting with him we knew that he was the one for us! He made it a point to make sure our ceremony was perfect and everything we wanted. He even included our pride and joy- our golden retriever. The day of the rehearsal Skip put our minds at ease- he kept it lighthearted while making sure we knew what we were doing! Our bridal party and families kept commenting on how great he was. I would 100% recommend Skip to anyone looking for an officiant for their wedding ceremony, no matter your religious or non-religious background!Sent on 06/15/2019
John Skip Sweeney - Officiant's reply:Stefanie & Steven (and Stanley),
Skip is our favorite officiant! Always on time, professional, caring and goes above and beyond our couples expectations. I always breathe a sign of relief knowing he was hired to do the rehearsal/ceremony which in my opinion is one of the most important part of the wedding experience. ,
John is always very easy to work with. He comes right over and talks to the string quartet, and is very clear about cues for the musicians. From the perspective of the ceremony musicians, this makes working with him a breeze. He is a personable and energetic officiant during the ceremony as well. We always enjoy watching and participating in his ceremonies.
