IT'S LIT Weddings & Events provides dance floor-shaking setlists for weddings in Rhode Island. Our DJ's draw on well over a decade of combined experience and hundreds of weddings, to provide a professional service that is responsive to our clients’ needs. We offer thoughtful entertainers who relish each gig they play and every opportunity to make others happy through the magic of music.

Services Offered

We work closely with couples to find out what they want from a wedding DJ, before tailoring our services to respond to their requests. IT'S LIT Weddings and Events DJ's often bring an assistant DJ on the day of events to ensure the best service possible. In conjunction with our performances, we can provide dance floor lighting, cocktail hour music, innovative monogram/logo projections (see below), music and microphones for ceremonies, dancing on a cloud, and many other popular effects. Couples can also add our photo booth rental service to add another fun dimension to their celebrations.

He Does it All!

We could not of asked for more support from Alex. Not only was he an outstanding DJ that was willing to work with us during these unprecedented times in 2020, creating custom games and activities for our guests during dinner but he was also the glue that held together all of our other vendors. Without being asked, Alex assisted and essentially became our day of wedding planner. He coordinated with the catering vendors as well as the property staff to ensure we had a smooth evening from beginning to end. We have received nothing but complements from our guests who again and again reference this as not only a fun Covid event but one of the most entertaining weddings they have ever been to. This is all due to Alex.

Must book!!!

Nothing but incredible things to say about Alex and IT’S LIT!!! Literally exceeded all expectations that I had for having a DJ, keeping the floor packed all night to the point that after 4 hours of dancing, people were going crazy chanting for more songs!!! So many fun surprises from Alex to keep the people going, awesome MC too! So easy to work with in the planning process as well. Don't look anywhere else for a DJ! Everything was perfectly timed and so glad our first dance and parent dances went smoothly, all thanks to Alex!

Alex & Team Rock!!!

Alex and the IT'S LIT Weddings & Events team were fantastic to work with for our wedding. Their communication was quick, resourceful and helpful throughout the entire planning process. The quality of their work was excellent - they were super fun to collaborate with and made the day run smoothly from start to finish. They provided DJ services, a photo booth, uplighting and custom giant letters that added such a special touch. Alex even helped create a custom song for a special dance with my mom, making our day even more magical. The party kept going the whole night and we didn't want it to end! I highly recommend IT'S LIT Weddings & Events for any couple looking to make their wedding day unforgettable.

Alex Brown DJ - The BEST!

Hired Alex for our sons wedding on September 6th at the Boathouse. From start to finish he was a pleasure to work with. Professional, organized and full of great ideas and advice. The Boathouse presented some challenges with design and logistics but Alex completely executed the vision we had .
His drapery and lighting work completely transformed the space and it was GORGEOUS!
As for the music.....even with last minute curveballs that I threw at him he was PHENOMENAL! Dance floor packed all night. We still have people talking about the night.
If you are contemplating DJ, design, lighting, etc.....look no further. BOOK HIM!

DJ Alex Brown - Newport Wedding

My wife and I hired Alex as the DJ for our wedding in Newport this October. He was absolutely incredible. From the ceremony and recessional to the photo booth, greenery wall and dance floor, Alex and his team crushed it. The uplighting was great and the marquee letters really brought the room together and made a great background for photos.

One of the things that I was most passionate about as a groom was finding someone who would set the tone for the night. Alex brought the energy from the moment he stepped on site that day. Whether he was behind the DJ booth working the 1s and 2s or on the mic, he was fantastic. Since the wedding, all of our friends have been asking about Alex, his team and where we found them.

There's no lack of DJ's for a Newport wedding but if you're reading this review then congratulations because your search is over! DJ Alex Brown is simply the best there is.

Wedding DJ

We had DJ Alex Brown for our wedding this past week and we could not have been happier with our choice. I can be very selective and particular with what kind of music I love to dance to so I was nervous when looking for a DJ. I wanted EDM, 90s techno, and dance music and when I tell you he nailed it, I mean it. Every single song that was played I LOVED. I gave him a few must play songs and he 100% understood the vibe I wanted. If you are looking for someone that understands dance music (think also old school Show me Love- Robin S) then I truly could not recommend him more!! He was also extremely professional and kept everything running smoothly.

Best dj!

alex is AMAZING!!! we literally loved every song he played and we had the absolute best time. he’s so talented and we loved having him be apart of our day and he was able to bring it to life so authentically and beautifully!!

10/10 Marquee Letter rental experience

Great experience working with ITS LIT for marquee letter rentals for a corporate event! Pre-event communication was quick and clear, and the letter installation and presentation was top notch! Even when I asked for the letters to be set up, secured, and then moved at least 3 times, Alex was happy to help! The team even went above and beyond to provide a photo booth backdrop to assist with other event logistics challenges. Would absolutely recommend and work with again for any future needs!
