Facilities and Capacity
This venue has six different event spaces available, as well as a comfortable restaurant space. The Grand Marina and Sunset Ceremony Garden spaces are waterfront, outdoor spaces that can accommodate up to 150 people. The Grand Marina Ballroom can accommodate up to 150 guests with a dance floor and panoramic views of Point Loma. The Sunset Ballroom holds upto 100 people with vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows with beautiful views of the marina. The Harbor Room is a more intimate space with natural wood ceilings and dramatic lighting for 60 guests. The Bay Room holds up to 50 people, and the Santa Barbara Room, with views of the pool and marina, can hold 80 guests.
The Island Palms Hotel & Marina offers amazing accommodations that you and your guests can enjoy, including beautiful suites, pools, and more. Your friends and family will have access to discounted sleeping rooms to enjoy your wedding weekend with you. If guests are coming in just for the wedding they will have free access to our hotel parking lot during the hours of the event.

We chose Island Palms for its location right on the bay and closeness to the airport. They have great, affordable choices for wedding packages. Our reception had a little over 100 guests and was held in their largest room, the Grand Marina Room. Most of our guests were from out of town just as we were and stayed at the Island Palms as well. Everyone complimented on the beauty of the place and the menu was awesome. The rooms were wonderful, especially their suites. We definitely recommend the Island Palms.

I cannot say enough good things about the Island Palms and Lauren and Samantha, their event/ banquet coordinators. Lauren was super helpful, answering all of my questions before and after we signed the contract. We were able to drop off the decorations that we were providing the night before, and the banquet staff set everything up for us. They even picked up our flowers for the reception hall when our florist messed up our order. If you want an as stress-free as it can be experience, with multiple package options to choose from, amazing views from both the marina and harbor side of the hotel, this is your place!!

A hidden gem in San Diego! I love working with the Island Palms because the service is stellar, the support is ample and there are no surprises… They don’t take advantage of couples like other venues might, with ridiculous wedding “up-charges” and hidden requirements or fees. In my experience, their marketing materials are straightforward and comprehensive, with reasonable event packages and a number of fun perks. The location is fabulous. Also, the upgraded rooms are both spacious and well-equipped (with ample outlets and mirrors!) – checking all the “boxes” for bridal parties and out-of-town guests. I had the pleasure of working with Lauren Miller (Sales and Conference Service Team) on my most recent event at Island Palms and her performance was impeccable. She was friendly, resourceful and extremely helpful and she made sure her team was ready for the big day we had planned! Here’s a BIG shout-out to Lauren and her coworkers for keeping my clients happy, and for giving an event planner (like me) some much-needed peace of mind.
