The Island Palms Hotel & Marina is a coastal wedding venue in San Diego, California. This hotel venue offers a tropical paradise setting perfect for any wedding or special event. Located on Shelter Island with gorgeous decor, beautiful water views, and amazing accommodations, this venue is sure to make your wedding or event experience memorable for you and your guests.
Facilities and Capacity
The Island Palms Hotel & Marina has six different event spaces available, as well as a comfortable restaurant space. The Grand Marina and Sunset Ceremony Garden spaces are waterfront, outdoor spaces that can accommodate up to 150 people. The Grand Marina Ballroom can accommodate up to 150 guests with a dance floor and panoramic views of Point Loma. The Sunset Ballroom holds up to 100 people with vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows with beautiful views of the marina. The Harbor Room is a more intimate space with natural wood ceilings and dramatic lighting for 60 guests. The Bay Room holds up to 50 people, and the Santa Barbara Room, with views of the pool and marina, can hold 80 guests.
Services Offered
The Island Palms Hotel & Marina offers amazing accommodations that you and your guests can enjoy, including beautiful suites, pools, and more. Your friends and family will have access to discounted sleeping rooms to enjoy your wedding weekend with you. If guests are coming in just for the wedding they will have free access to our hotel parking lot during the hours of the event. The Island Palms also boasts a full-service catering department with food and beverage choices to help make your event even more memorable.

I graduated in 2022 from San Diego State University with a degree in Hospitality Management. I immediately went into hospitality sales and have been selling weddings in the San Diego Market over a year now.

A hidden gem in San Diego! I love working with the Island Palms because the service is stellar, the support is ample and there are no surprises… They don’t take advantage of couples like other venues might, with ridiculous wedding “up-charges” and hidden requirements or fees. In my experience, their marketing materials are straightforward and comprehensive, with reasonable event packages and a number of fun perks. The location is fabulous. Also, the upgraded rooms are both spacious and well-equipped (with ample outlets and mirrors!) – checking all the “boxes” for bridal parties and out-of-town guests. I had the pleasure of working with Lauren Miller (Sales and Conference Service Team) on my most recent event at Island Palms and her performance was impeccable. She was friendly, resourceful and extremely helpful and she made sure her team was ready for the big day we had planned! Here’s a BIG shout-out to Lauren and her coworkers for keeping my clients happy, and for giving an event planner (like me) some much-needed peace of mind.
