About
Only 4 miles south of Alexandria, Hollin Hall and the Meeting House are located on a 7-acre campus that was originally a part of George Mason's estate. Hollin Hall is a gracious Georgian manor house surrounded by mature boxwood gardens. The Meeting House is a spacious, contemporary site for larger weddings and receptions. A beautiful curved brick wall surrounds our romantic, 3-tiered boxwood garden that is the perfect site for weddings. Photographic opportunities abound.

I cannot say enough good things about Hollin Hall, or recommend it highly enough to couples on the market for the PERFECT venue. When we began our venue search, it was clear that there were a lot of venues that were either too big for our smaller wedding (~75 people) or came with lots of hidden costs and strings attached. We also didn’t want to be the center of public attention by choosing a venue in the middle of DC or Old Town Alexandria. When we visited Hollin Hall, we knew that this was the spot for us and we moved to snap up our desired date roughly ~8 months ahead of our wedding day.
Hollin Hall is extremely convenient to get to. For local guests, it’s an easy drive; for folks from out of town, it’s an easy uber from any hotel in Alexandria. When you *do* get to Hollin Hall, you’re welcomed by this wonderfully quiet, private space that feels worlds away from the rest of Washington. And the best part of all—one of the reasons that I think it is a true gem—you get the ENTIRE grounds with your rental. There is tremendous flexibility in how you organize your wedding, whether outdoors or indoors, rain or shine. There are 3 different spaces to use: the gardens, the meeting hall (church space), and the historic home. The permutations of options are endless! We planned for good weather and held our ceremony in the garden space, then moved into the meeting hall for the reception.
The venue coordinator, Amanda Casey, is an absolute delight to work with. She is kind, patient, warm, and extremely well organized. If you go with Hollin Hall as your venue, pay the extra money to have Amanda serve as your day-of coordinator. She will take ALL of the day-of logistics off your plate, coordinating with vendors for delivery, ensuring that everything is set-up, and overseeing the entire night. When it came to setting up all of our centerpieces, I gave Amanda verbal instructions and put notes on boxes of stuff—and she did all the rest. Not a single item was out of place, and everything ran so very smoothly all night. Spending the extra bit of money for Amanda’s support was easily the 2nd best planning decision we made (the 1st best decision, of course, being our choice to get married at Hollin Hall!).

Amanda at Hollin Hall was very easy to work with and very attentive to our many questions. We had to make a last minute change bringing the ceremony inside and Amanda made it happen with ease! She was present at the rehearsal and the day of the wedding and was very hands-on making sure everything went well. Great facility, beautiful well-kept grounds, and kind attentive staff!! Great wedding venue!

Choosing a venue was a challenge for us but from the beginning Hollin Hall was a front runner and turned out to be a great choice for us!! The value is incredible-beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces between 2 different buildings-one with historic charm, the other a modern beauty! And the outdoor gardens are just gorgeous! The location was great, ended up being 15 mins from our home which was perfect for consultations, walk throughs, and of course day of convenience! And the abundance of free parking for our guests was great! Not to mention, it's a beautiful and quiet oasis that feels both spacious and intimate. We wanted an outdoor garden wedding but the great indoor spaces gave us an excellent backup plan should it rain on our parade; which it did-but NO MATTER, we seamlessly moved to Plan B and the party continued on as planned!! The venue also has a ton of chairs and tables which helped us save money on rentals. And Amanda, the Coordinator, was a joy to work with; very professional, always happy to answer questions and easy to get in touch with! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this venue. We loved having our wedding there, and were extremely happy with our decision!!

Hollin Hall and The Meeting House were lovely facilities for our daughter's wedding! The space was ample yet intimate. We chose to use both buildings, which provided variety to different parts of the event. It kept the party moving and flowing to use both spaces. Amanda was most helpful and personal through the entire planning phase! She accommodated us in many ways with complete kindness, understanding and professionalism. The caterers
( Heart2Heart) and Amanda worked well together which made the wedding go smoothly! I felt that Amanda and the caterers were most sincere in meeting our needs. The place was also very clean and handicap accessible which was nice. There were places to stand or sit or step outside if guests wanted to move away from music too. Everything was handled efficiently and professionally! I think you will be happy working with all that Hollin Hall and the Meeting House offer!

We had our wedding reception at Hollin Hall, and it was such a wonderful experience! Amanda Casey (the coordinator extraordinaire) made sure everything went smoothly, and it did! We had many requests and requirements for the reception, and she went out of her way to accommodate our needs and wants. She recommended excellent vendors who also went above and beyond for dietary restrictions.
The location of Hollin Hall is also nice, and close to 495, but you wouldn't know it. Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood with beautiful grounds, it feels secluded and has beautiful gardens to wander. We were married in March and even though there were no leaves or flowers blooming it was a pretty backdrop for all our photos. I would definitely recommend Hollin Hall to anyone looking for a DC area wedding venue!

Hollin Hall was perfect for our 120 person wedding. We had wanted to be outside, but the weather just didn't cooperate. Having the Meeting House as a backup though worked perfectly. We were still able to get some pictures on the beautiful grounds and the Mansion was a great site for our reception. We had dancing in the Fireplace Room, the bar in the sun room, the buffet table set up in the foyer, and 8 round tables in the other two rooms. Our guests were able to spread onto the Wisteria Arbor and around in the gardens. The venue doesn't need much decoration, which makes it super easy. We were worried about the 9pm end time, but it really worked out perfectly for our guests, many of whom had kids or weren't really into partying until the wee hours of the night. The rest of us moved the party to a bar in Old Town after. This is definitely the place to get married if you're looking in Alexandria.

My husband and I got married at Hollin Hall on 1/1/17 and it was the most perfect day (even the weather cooperated!). This is a lovely place to get married and the main draws were the property, being able to have the wedding and reception in one place, the outstanding wedding coordinator (Amanda Casey), and being able to have a lovely wedding on a budget. This was the only place we looked at and just decided it was the one. The rates are competitive and you even get your deposit back quickly after the wedding is over, assuming everything is left in its proper place and you go with one of their preferred caterers. We used one, To Your Taste Catering, and they are phenomenal (if you choose them, Cheryl Connors is amazing and so is their main chef -- get the steak w/ chimichurri sauce!). I can't say enough about this hidden gem in the Mount Vernon area. I'm sure it's gorgeous in the summer (outside weddings) and fall when the weather is crisp. Since we did ours over the holidays, there were still Christmas decorations up and that was a-okay with us... beautiful scenery and less to decorate!

Everything was great from start to finish at the Mount Vernon Unitarian Church. The wedding coordinator, Amanda, is wonderful to work with and very responsive. Plus, she made sure the garden was perfect for our wedding. The white gates were cleaned and so were the chairs. Also, on the day of she made sure nothing (within her power) went wrong. She even asked some kids to be quiet on the playground nearby so they wouldn't disturb our ceremony. And as for the grounds, this place is full of great photo opportunities. The rental included the historic Hollin Hall as well as the Meeting House and the beautiful grounds. So there were plenty of places also to have the ceremony indoors in case of rain. I liked the room that us girls got dressed in at Hollin Hall. There was good lighting in the early afternoon and plenty of space to spread out to get ready. All in all I am very happy with our decision to have our ceremony at the Mount Vernon Unitarian Church. Not to mention the price was better than my own church down the street and much prettier inside and out.
