Hodge Podge Lodge, located in the heart of the Historical District of the small town of Montgomery, Texas, combines historic elegance with its own unique eclectic twist. This bed and breakfast was originally built in 1854 is not home to a gorgeous event space and quaint bed and breakfast.

Hodge Podge Lodge is able to accommodate up to 120 guests, and can even provide overnight accommodations for your out-of-town guests or you and your partner on the night of your big day.

History

Hodge Podge Lodge was originally built in 1854 for Richard S. Willis, Melrose. It has wide plank flooring — some of which still remain in the house — four bedrooms, and a story-and-a-half structure. This house was well known in the town of Montgomery and during the Civil War. When housing was hard to come by, Melrose opened its doors to those in need. In the 1960s, the Waldrop family took over the home and renamed it “Cathalorri” in honor of their two granddaughters. When they were living there, they worked to restore the house and bring it back to life.

This home did not become known as Hodge Podge Lodge until 2012 the property was designed for weddings and events as well as a B&B and five-star restaurant. These caretakers added the brick courtyard, round patio, and pavilion. The venue is now owned by Chef Jeff Angelo who continues to work to preserve the history of the home, while still adding some new additions such as the Redwood pergola, concrete aisle for the brides, a photo lounge, and renovated open-air pavilion reception space into the Gless Garden.
