I'll start with the wedding day. Kelsey is a total boss. She managed the timeline, the other vendors, relatives, working during a pandemic with grace and ease. Any time I asked a panicked question, with no hesitation, responded with exactly what I needed to hear. She knows what she's doing and she was truly a source of calm. Talon is a source of joy. He gets a long with everyone and makes everyone laugh. His easy going nature kept me relaxed and having a good time. Keep in mind this is all ON TOP of being really really really good at photography.

Kelsey and Talon capture authentic moments artistically and skillfully. They have a keen sense for when something special is about to happen. You can tell this as you look through your wedding photos. They are so special (re: our first hugs with our parents after the wedding, friends cheering for us as we entered the reception, big laughs, etc.) I'll treasure the moments they captured for the rest of my life.

Okay so they rocked the wedding day. As people, as photographers, rocked it. THEN, I got my wedding photos. And I can't even believe how good they are. They didn't look like wedding photos you typically see. I loved the raw beauty of so many unplanned moments. Every one was captured perfectly. My husband and I were both blown away, as were our friends and family.

They are dedicated to getting to know you as people, and it makes all the difference on the final product. Throughout the entire process there were so many personal touches that made us feel so special.

JULY 31 WEDDING CELEBRATION REVIEW

Kelsey and Talon are an absolute dream to work with! Being a photographer, I spent hours pouring over dozens of options for wedding photogs in the Austin area, and decided on Feather and Twine for their consistency in editing style, skill in taking both posed and organic portraits/event photography, and their film + digital hybrid approach. We ended up having to reschedule our originally planned wedding twice due to the pandemic, and Kelsey and Talon worked with us easily through all of that as well as documented our minimony we had on our original day with immediate family in June 2020. We finally had our big wedding celebration in July 2021 with the rest of our family and friends, and it was so fun to work with them again on this second special day. Kelsey and Talon make you feel like old friends and comfortably get you in poses while encouraging organic moments. My hats off to them for dealing with our large and numerous groupings for my extended family like pros as well. Wedding day schedules can be hectic, but they make them feel so breezy and keep you relaxed and having fun through the process. They are the best of the best, and you will be so lucky to have them as part of your team on your wedding day!

JUNE 6 2020 MINIMONY REVIEW

Kelsey and Talon are truly the dream team! I work full time as a photographer and videographer, so finding the right photographers was one of the highest priorities on my planning list. I was looking for someone who could capture the day in a documentary way -- getting those authentic moments as they happen -- while also having the skill to pose people and who had consistency in their editing style. Kelsey and Talon had all of that and more! (With the added bonus of being film/digital hybrid, giving you the best of both worlds in photography!)

Before we hired them, we got to meet with them in person and get to know them which was really nice to not only get to know their history in wedding photography but also get to know them as people. They also took them time to get to know more about us and what our vision for our wedding day was. We had an engagement session included in our wedding package and got to spend two hours wandering SoCo as we took photos, listened to music and chatted. They made us feel so at ease in front of the camera that it was like spending a morning hanging out with friends.

Kelsey and Talon are fantastic at communication and have always been quick to respond to email and texts. As COVID-19 became more serious in the states and restrictions were placed on gatherings, we started re-evaluating our wedding plans as our original date was 6/6/2020. Ultimately, we decided to still get married on our date with only immediate family present and reschedule our big celebration to a later, safer date for the rest of our family and friends to join us. It was a tough decision that not only affected us but also our vendors. Kelsey and Talon were so accommodating and encouraging through our replanning and rescheduling. Kelsey even took the time to talk to me on the phone about how I was feeling and processing everything -- just taking that moment to be human meant so much.

They were super flexible and were available to reschedule to our new date as well as be there for a few hours to document our original date. Kelsey worked with us to make a timeline for both days and gave us recommendations for local florists who could do a small order for our now-small ceremony and dinner. (We used their recommendation of The Farmer & I and Carrington was great as well!) On June 6, Kelsey and Talon showed up early and got straight to photographing, getting every little and big moment as they happened, details both big and small. Even at such a small gathering I was worried about running behind, but Kelsey and Talon’s calming presence reminded me to just be in the moment and enjoy it all! They gave posing direction while also giving us flexibility to move in other ways.

We received a very generous amount of wedding photos and we are simply in love with their work! They captured a range of emotions and moments so perfectly and with such authenticity that you feel like you are right there as you look at the pictures. The tones in their editing are bright yet soft in all the right ways, warm and natural, perfectly depicting the sunny summer evening we had.

I realize I basically just wrote a novel about Feather & Twine, but I could still go on and on singing their praises. Kelsey and Talon are not only incredible at what they do after years and years of hard work, they are truly two of the kindest, most thoughtful and wonderful people. My husband and I are looking forward to working with them again on our rescheduled wedding celebration date!

We had to postpone our April 2020 wedding for the Fall and F&T made the experience painless and were super responsive. They've been great at communication and have established literature with updated recommendations for executing your wedding. We shot our engagement photos with them and Kelsey & Talon are so easy to vibe with and we felt like friends and not clients! We'd recommend them to anyone wanting timeless and beautiful photos.

Absolutely incredible work! The work speaks for itself - absolutely gorgeous way of capturing light, personality, and I could just go on and on!

But what I find to truly make them the best photographers out there is their amazing personalities! They were wonderful to work with throughout the entire wedding planning process and were the best team to work with on our wedding day. Let me break down for you why:

1) Kelsey and Talon met us for coffee before we decided to book them as photographers and after our initial meeting we knew we needed to look no further. They were warm, kind and very passionate about their work. They also asked us all of the questions we did not even know we should be thinking about and helped guide us through the process - I loved that they did this for us because we really needed it!

2) They are extremely communicative and helped to walk us through timelines, give recommendations, answer our MANY questions we had -- when it came to planning and keeping things smooth and stress free we were grateful to have Kelsey & Talon to guide us. We also used all of their vendor recommendations and are so glad we did! They have such a beautiful network here in Austin (and beyond! but our wedding was in Austin) and that is a testament to who they are as artists and small business owners.

3) They are so sweet & kind, but can also be diplomatically direct when needed - this was so important for our families to get them in sync for large photos- and it is truly a gift! They are the types of people you need on your big day to get the job done while also making everyone feel incredibly at ease and keeping things on schedule. Seriously - this is a gift and worth the investment in and of itself!

4) A few weeks before our wedding we were able to meet up with them again to walk through our timeline and some questionnaires. They are extremely organized which allowed for our wedding day to be well thought-out and run smoothly because we were all on the same page. They also coordinated and worked beautifully with our Videographer DavidLe (I'll write his review soon too) and just goes to show that they think through everything! And on our wedding day they seemed to be everywhere and no where all at the same time - never intrusive, but always able to capture the intimate moments. Once again another beautiful gift we didn't realize would have such a positive impact on our wedding day.

5) Lastly, let us just say that they both have such beautiful and kind souls and working with such a beautiful married couple is an inspiring thing to have throughout the wedding planning process . They think about their impact on the world, the impact they have on their couples and they are just amazing humans that make the world a better place. When we were hiring and planning for our wedding we wanted to support businesses that we believe in and people who we wanted to invest in.
