Originating from his original music band, Mike Zabrin's Funktastic, he performs every year on WGN Midday News, several interviews on WGN radio, Bass Player Magazine, Jazz Corner, and hundreds of other notable world-wide publications.
A graduate of Columbia College Chicago, Mike had his start playing the blues! Throughout college, he toured around the country with Chicago Blues Hall of Fame acts,.
Mike opened for acts like Buddy Guy at his club, Legends, and Bob Seger at The Allstate Arena. He was even recording projects with members of Kool & The Gang. During this time, an advocate for music education, Mike was also the GM of the music school, School of Rock.
Having the best musicians Chicago has to offer under his wing, Mike took the wedding & corporate event industry by storm with his company, Funktastic Productions. A keeper of WeddingWire's Couples Choice Awards & The Knot Hall of Fame, they have become the midwest's premier events band.
