Daryl helped us customize everything from the piano at our ceremony to the jazz trio during dinner to the full band for the reception. They were tight, funky and just a blast. We're still getting texts from friends saying “that band though” We couldn’t agree more. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

We didn't get a chance to see them live before we booked them, and hands down still the best decision we could’ve made! Trust me, Daryl is on top of it, he definitely helped in no small part in keeping us organized. We had a piano for the ceremony and they learned our song requests and played it beautifully. The band came out into the crowd during the night and our guests lost it. They kept telling us it was the most fun wedding they’ve ever been to and we couldn't agree more. Funk Almighty exceeded every expectation!! From the moment the music started, it felt like the whole room came alive. Daryl and the band were incredibly easy to work with leading up to the big day; professional, responsive, and genuinely invested in making everything perfect. They had everyone on the dance floor. Funk Almighty went above and beyond all of our expectations!!! Our dance floor was packed the entire night with guests of all ages. We had relatives that typically don't dance at weddings, up and dancing all night. Funk Almighty was very professional and always available for emails and calls with any questions we had. They asked us to make a list of songs we liked and they did their best to incorporate those songs or similar songs to the set list. Funk Almighty was the absolute highlight of our wedding!! They brought so much energy and talent to our dance floor, and guests of all ages were dancing the night away. We hired Funk Almighty to play for 850 guests at our charity fundraiser gala. The guests absolutely loved them! Many of our guests who had also attended the previous year's gala commented on how much better the music was this year, and that's entirely thanks to this band. I wish we had booked them longer because of the overwhelmingly positive reception. The crowd kept chanting one more song at the end of the end of their set! Ahead of the event, we worked closely with them to share the vibe we were going for and identified some must-hear songs from their song list. Wow. Professional, easy to work with, and SO fun. These guys are so cool I just want to be them. Really nice about getting the right set list too. Would easily hire again if we had a reason to.

Funk Almighty was one of the best parts of our wedding! We've seen them play at a few of our friends weddings, so the choice was obvious! Their management was super responsive, they played all of our favorite songs, and absolutely brought it! Every set was incredible and our guests could not stop complimenting the band. Would recommend to any bride + groom for their big day!

As the groom and also a trained jazz musician, my #1 wedding priority was the music. I knew that we needed some traditional wedding fare to get everyone dancing and singing. But, I also knew that a typical wedding band (no offense to those) were not going to do it for me. I feel lucky to have come across Funk Almighty and to have booked them for my reception. Their manager, Daryl, was very professional throughout the booking process. We hopped on a phone call after I inquired and he walked through all of the details with me, including providing pricing immediately. One of the first things that jumped out at me was Daryl's offer that the band would learn ANY song that we requested for our event. That was not typical based on my research. Leading up to the wedding, Daryl and I checked in a couple times to make sure the schedule was in place. I was really pleased with the communication before the event. We talked about what kind of set I was envisioning for the night and they delivered. The band was able to let us use their audio system for the ceremony and toasts, which was convenient. They set up early in the day with plenty of time in case any issues arose. Finally, once the time came to dance, they blew me away. Seriously, I had so many guests come up to me and express they COULD NOT BELIEVE how great the band was. The band played a lot of traditional wedding songs, but took a lot of solos between the trombone, trumpet, sax, keyboard, and guitar. I had asked Daryl for a lot of solos and improvisation, so I don't think you can do better than Funk Almighty if that's what you want. But, I have a feeling they can play the tunes straighter if you prefer. The singers were incredible, especially the female singer. They had awesome stage presence and were actually interacting with the guests, making sure the party never stopped. When the time for the finale came, everyone was spent from 2 hours+ of straight getting down. I could not recommend Funk Almighty any more. As a musician myself, I am EXTREMELY picky about music performances, and they knocked it out of the park. My only point of disappointment was that the venue we chose was very boomy, which made the echo a bit unpleasant if you were far from the stage. Obviously, that's in no way the band's fault -- I just wish I had thought of it earlier. Also, make sure that you provide Funk Almighty with whatever insurance details your venue requires with plenty of time beforehand. We had a bit of a scare the night before, but the band and venue were able to work something out.

Funk Almighty was incredible. They matched the vibe perfectly for our smaller wedding at a restaurant. They played jazz during cocktail hour and sounded amazing. Then by the time the dance floor was open, the energy was high and the band sounded incredible. Aaliyah and Troy sounded amazing, and the rest of the band was perfect. Funk Almighty respected our song choices, and were able to understand the vibe of the reception. 10/10 thank you Daryl and Funk Almighty.
