  The party did not stop

  Look no further and book Funktastic NOW! We absolutely loved working with Mike, Amber, and the whole team. The planning process was so collaborative, we loved having a part in building the setlist with the band to ensure they played our favorite songs-- which they did!!!!
  
  Not only did we have the AMAZING 10 piece band, we also had the Jazz Trio for cocktail hour, Photo Booth, and dance floor lights. On top of all of that, Amber was the best MC and kept the night moving swiftly while keeping the energy high. Our friends and family cannot stop talking about how amazing the band was and how fun the dance floor was, the party truly did not stop.
  
  Live Music was the number 1 priority for us while wedding planning and Funktastic exceeded all of our hopes & dreams!!!!

  The best in the biz

  Mike and Funktastic made our wedding. They’re the best in the business - had at least 20+ people compliment the band and ask who they were. Had the crowd going the whole time and made the party. Couldn’t recommend more!

  They provided the A/V for the pre-ceremony, ceremony, cocktail hour, speeches, and dinner; they guided us in selecting music and creating playlists for every segment of the evening; they blessed the dance floor with their musicality (throughout the night, multiple guests told us that they felt like they were at an actual concert); their repertoire is unparalleled; and their DJ hosted an incredible afterparty, one that was memorable to all of our guests: even the ones whose memories were otherwise suspect by that point.

  This Band Rocks!

  I've waited a little while to write this review so that I can come down from the wedding day vibe, and also experience a few other wedding bands since the big day. I can now officially say that Funktastic is the best band I've ever seen at a wedding. They have an extensive collection of songs, and they're very generous with their offer for special requests. I did not leave the dance floor to stop dancing once while they were playing, and we didn't need to encourage our guests to come join us - Funktasic's playing ability and energy were magnetic throughout the entire night. Alysha is an INCREDIBLE frontwoman, and the rest of the band did an outstanding job of jamming out the music to add a little variety and keep the people dancing longer! 10/10 would absolutely hire again

  Bringin’ the Funk AND Professionalism

  Disclaimer: this review is being written before our wedding day. It may seem like I’m putting the cart before the horse by writing this, but our experience with Funktastic Productions thus far has been so positive that I think it’s worth sharing with any couples who are in the preliminary planning phase.
  
  Booking a band was the most important part of wedding planning for my fiancé, which would make one think it would be the most stressful/daunting, but from our first call with Mike to the moment the contract was signed it has been the farthest thing from that.
  
  From the moment we got engaged and started mapping out our vision for our wedding, my fiancé and I agreed that the most important facet of the event was the band. We are live-music fanatics with our taste spanning from The Grateful Dead to a Taylor Swift, so it was important to us to find a band with a range to match. The band’s massive catalog and clips of their repertoire on their website made it a no brainer.
  
  Pair that with Mike’s receptiveness, responsiveness, and insight and we truly feel like we hit the jackpot.
  
  Lastly, of all the bands we met with, Funktastic has the most sophisticated and empowering platform (Releventful) that grants the couple ease of access to communication and collaboration. While some bands gave a vibe of “leave the creative control all to us, we’re the pros” (which we respect) the genuine interest in us as a couple and the invitation to work together to have our vision come to fruition has us confident that we made the right choice.
  
  Stay tuned for a follow up after the wedding, but for now, if you’re a couple who in the midst of planning, I strongly encourage you to check out Funktastic productions.

  Hire them!

  Funktastic was INCREDIBLE. My husband and I cannot recommend them more.
  During the planning process, they were extremely communicative and flexible. There were a lot of moving parts at our wedding, as our ceremony, dinner, and reception were all in different locations at the venue. Mike and Amber problem solved and came up with solutions that allowed full sound set up in all areas.
  Mike and Amber collaborated with our musician friends and provided sound set up and instrumental support during our ceremony and first dance. THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT PIECES and we will never forget these moments.
  They have a huge repertoire but also took song requests that they've never performed before and absolutely rocked them!! We were really specific with out vision for the day, and they understood it and helped us bring it to fruition.
  They were super interactive with our guests and everyone is still raving about them a month after our wedding!
  If you are looking for an epic band for your wedding or party, look no more. Funktastic is the band for you.

  The best wedding band EVER

  Absolutely Perfect!!! Funktastic was incredible to work with from the very beginning. Mike and Amber took a genuine interest in what sort of music and vibe we wanted for the wedding. The band has a big and varied catalogue of songs to choose from and are more than willing to learn songs outside of that. They played all our first songs and many of the requests we had for the setlist. These guys are true musicians dedicated to what they do, nothing was sloppy or low effort.  We had a small electrical issue with the venue during the wedding, but the band rolled with the punches and found a solution while keeping the crowd hyped up. Everyone said the band was the best part. I truly cannot imagine our wedding with a different band. Amber was also the MC all night and brought the energy and good vibes. I play guitar and when we booked them a year before the wedding, Funktastic offered to have me play on stage with them. At the time I chickened out but decided to do it a week before and it went perfectly despite the limited time. They were so accommodating and helped me achieve another dream of playing live music! Totally epic, I would recommend this band to anyone for any event. Ill be racking my brain for an excuse to book them again!

  Five Stars!

  Funktastic MADE our wedding! We knew we wanted to work with them after seeing them perform previously, and we actually planned our event around their availability. I HIGHLY recommend Funktastic in any form. We went all out with a 13 piece band, and it was worth every penny. Working with Michael and the band was SO easy, and they were incredibly kind, patient, flexible, and professional while we took our time deciding our setlist. Even though about a month has passed, people are STILL coming up to us and complimenting the band! They did an amazing job reading the room and knowing how to keep the dance floor packed the entire night. They were able to play a wide variety of music ranging from Bruce Springsteen to the Hora to Florence and the Machine. I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to be a part of our special day. Thank you!

  Amber and the Funktastics blew our MINDS!!! Not only were they insanely talented, personable and engaging on the dance floor, they were also so timely and communicative and kind throughout the process. We loved how interactive they were, getting the crowd going and coming onto the dance floor with us! We had an unbelievable night, we didn't leave the dance floor for a single second. I truly couldn’t recommend The Funktastics enough!! We had SO many guests (many of whom are performers themselves) pull us aside and ask who they were saying that they were the best wedding band they’ve ever heard. THANK YOU Funktastics!!!

  The best wedding band!!!

  Funktastic was absolutely fantastic!!!!!! They were the best decision we made for our wedding day and I cannot emphasize that enough. Their 10 piece band absolutely rocks - they had the dance floor filled the entire night. Amber was fabulous to work with and worked with us leading up to the wedding day to make sure the MCing and the playlist was perfect! Thank you, Amber!! We also hired Funktastic's string players for our ceremony and used their photobooth, which both added so much to our day. I HIGHLY recommend Funktastic for all of their services - they are great people, very professional, and so talented at what they do!

  Need this band at your wedding!

  10/10!!! We got married in May at Morgan's on Fulton and people are STILL raving about Funktastic! They are SO amazing! Their musical talent and stage presence is unmatched. The dance floor was packed the whole night! They were fun and easy to work with throughout the whole wedding experience. HIGHLY recommend!

  Amazing from Start to Finish

  Finding a a fun wedding band was our number 1 priority for us because we love to dance! We found funktastic on instagram and then saw them at the Bassment as soon as we could. The energy, range of music genre, camaraderie on stage and most importantly the talent blew us away! We contacted mike then next day and the rest is history!
  
  Mike and Alysha were both such a pleasure to work with- friendly, professional and understanding. They blew our expectations out of the water and would recommend funktastic to anybody who likes to have a good time!
  
  Some of our highlights include the custom Beyoncé mashups, flawless execution of our requested playlist and interaction with wedding guests/the dance floor on stage. Additionally, we are so grateful that alysha also MC’ed the wedding- she brought the crowds energy for us during dances, speeches and our entrance!
  
  Highly recommend getting a stage, the lights and adding on a DJ if it’s in your budget! We did a DJ cocktail hour that made the space feel lively!

  Best Wedding Band Ever!! Book Funktastic ASAP!

  Funktastic just played our December 2022 wedding and we cannot recommend them highly enough!! They have a HUGE catalog of music to select from and work hand-in-hand with you to create your perfect, personal set list. And if they don't know some of your favorites - they'll learn them for you!! The energy they bring is unmatched - talent through the roof with all vocalists and all band members. Everyone was highly interactive with us, our guests, and each other throughout the performance. Get ready to dance & sing with them the entire night! We had many guests comment how incredible they were and have had multiple guests already inquire for their info. Two thumbs up, 10 out of 10, would absolutely recommend them and book again!

  The Star of the Night

  Please book this band. This group caught our eyes back in 2019 and we were immediately hooked. When we got engaged in 2021 the first vendor we called was Funktastic. Our guests were blown away by their talent and continue to still ask us about them and where we found this amazing band. They also are able to learn songs that pertain to you and give you a show like no other. Amber, I don’t think Stevie Nicks could perform as well as you did when you sang Edge of Seventeen. I have never had more fun singing that song than with you leading the way. Thank you for going out of your way Funktastic. You were worth every penny and I would do it all again if I could.

  Please book this band. This group caught our eyes back in 2019 and we were immediately hooked. When we got engaged in 2021 the first vendor we called was Funktastic.   Couldn't be better!!

  My husband already wrote a raving review, but I have to write one too because WOW! The band was the most important part to us, my husband is a musician and without a doubt, we found the perfect band! I mean the song selecting spreadsheet won me over immediately, but also working with Alysha - who is the kindest person and an AMAZING MC, and just getting non-stop compliments all night. Our first dance song was a little different and they knocked it out of the park, their energy is amazing, and they let my husband join them on stage for a couple songs and just made his night. I will recommend Funktastic to everyone I know, I am so happy they were our wedding band!

  Killer Dance Floor with Funktastic!

  We had an amazing wedding with Funktastic at the helm for our music on our big day. We had a perfect jazz trio during cocktail hour led by Amber and she also kicked off the dance floor with the 5 piece band to get everyone dancing. She can SING!! Then DJ Servaun took over for the rest of the night and kept the good tunes going and the dance floor flowing! All of the music, from the live band to the DJ hits were fantastic and kept the dance floor busy all night. Having a fun dance floor was priority #1 for us for our wedding day, and Funktastic delivered on our dream. Funktastic was also great throughout all of the planning stages, song selections, timeline planning, and MC'ing. We love music and it was important to us to have some live music at our wedding and with Funktastic offering the option of 1/2 Live music 1/2 DJ was a perfect for our budget and fulfilled our dreams for our wedding day. We strongly recommend Funktastic for your wedding day if you want a killer band/DJ to keep your dance floor lively!

  Funktastic was the absolute BEST wedding band we could have ever dreamed of!   Great Funktastic Productions Experience

  We came to Funktastic Productions just 5 weeks before our wedding desperate to find a band. Our previous band cancelled and left us without entertainment just 5 weeks before our date. Mike and Funktastic Productions were great from the start. The were able to answer all our questions, and had great communication before our date. They were highly recommended and made us feel comfortable from Day 1. From a process stand point, Funktastic Productions was extremely professional and made us very comfortable. Day of performance was unbelievably good. The sound and vibe of the band was just what we were looking for. The band sounded even better than what we were able to listen to online. We received compliments throughout the night and post our wedding. Could not recommend this band enough not only for the day of performance but for how they handled our stressful situation.

We were in a tough spot with only a month to find a wedding band, and this team came through with an incredible performance (and with only 3 weeks to plan!). I feel like every one of our wedding guests had something positive to say about the band, and it truly made our night unforgettable. From the first conversation with Mike, to the planning and day-of coordination with Alysha, we were thoroughly impressed with the professionalism and preparation this group demonstrated. The vocals, instruments, and MC-ing matched/exceeded any live concert we had been to. Don't look any further, book these guys.

  Funktastic BEST band in Chicago

  Funktastic is the BEST band in Chicago! Having amazing music and making sure our guests were dancing the entire wedding was the number one priority for our wedding day. After looking at a few other high end chicago wedding bands, we heard Funktastic frequently played at the Basement and wanted to check them out. Mike invited us to come listen to the band at the Basement and we quickly knew this was the band for our wedding. Throughout the planning process Mike was responsive, attentive, timely and super helpful. He also seamlessly worked with my wedding planner and was happy to come to the walk through to ensure the day of would be smooth. When we started picking songs, we worked with Mike and his team to curate our songs across genres, and map out the night of music. Our guests never left the dance floor. They played every type of music from EDM to disco to 90s rap to Beyonce. They learned 6 songs for our day and rocked every single one. Guests were at the wedding from Chicago, New York, California, Israel, Florida and every guest kept commenting how amazing the band was. We booked the 16 piece band + the electric violin and DJ. The horns together were INCREDIBLE. The rapper was also a highlight of the night for songs like Crazy in Love, Roses and more. We wanted the singers on the dance floor, and they got on the dance floor with all of us. This band is truly incredible. I could go on and on about how amazing Funktastic is, look no further than Funktastic and know you'll be in amazing hands on your wedding day.

  We had the most amazing experience with Mike, Alysha and the entire team. We'd recommend them 10/10 times - they were the talk of the evening and truly made our wedding exactly what we envisioned- a massive party/celebration!   Best in Chicagoland

  After listening to at least 10 event bands in Chicagoland, I’m confident Funktastic is the best wedding band for anyone looking for a talented, kind, and FUN group of musicians for their big day. We had many professional musicians and recording artists on our guest lists, so I knew it was going to be a tough crowd. I’m pleased to say that all of our guests were impressed and had a great time.
  
  Funktastic was engaging, energetic, and skillful. They connected with the audience, and even the kitchen staff came out from the back to see where that incredible sound was coming from.
  
  I highly recommend this band. You can trust them to deliver on a variety of song genres, roll with any changes on your big day, and bring a positive and fun attitude to your party.
  
  Perhaps the best perk of this group is that they bring a sound tech to the event who is working the whole time - not just during setup or initial sound check. This was so crucial for us, as the mic was being used by different people for speeches throughout the night, and the performers sometimes moved through the crowd. This let everyone speak and sing with confidence; if the sound was a bit off, it was rebalanced within 7 seconds.
  
  All of our guests said how much they loved the band, and several people took contact information from me or the band members to hire them for their own weddings. You can have absolute confidence in Funktastic when you decide to hire them for your party.

  So happy with our decision to hire Funktastic for our wedding! We used them all night from our ceremony through reception and they were beyond amazing. The rotating quartet added the perfect vibe I wanted to capture during dinner and then they got the party started after dinner and it did NOT stop. All of our guests loved them and keep asking for their name, they were so much fun! Mike and Alysha were awesome to work with. I definitely recommend Funktastic for your wedding or event!
