Romance at Water's Edge....
Located in historic Fells Point, the Frederick Douglass – Isaac Myers Maritime Park defines Baltimore industrial elegance. As one of Baltimore City’s oldest waterfront buildings, there are several unique spaces that are available for private event rentals. With its exquisite brick and woodwork, it will be sure to make the most perfect backdrop for your private reception. Choose to host an indoor event within the Founders’ Room, exhibiting exposed brick walls and industrial wood beams reminiscent of Baltimore, or within the Bearman Gallery with floor-to-ceiling windows and access to balconies overlooking Baltimore’s harbor. Events hosted outdoors on the bricked courtyard and Cardin Pier boast breathtaking panoramic views of the harbor and backlighting from Baltimore’s iconic Domino Sugar sign, making incredible backdrops for your event photos. Whether you choose to host inside or outside, your private event is guaranteed to be both exceptional and memorable.
It's Rich History...
The Frederick Douglass – Isaac Myers Maritime Park celebrates the contributions of African-Americans in the development of Baltimore’s maritime industry including the establishment of the Chesapeake Marine Railway and Dry Dock Company, the nation’s first African-American owned and operated shipyard established in 1868 by Isaac Myers. The site honors the legacy of Isaac Myers and Frederick Douglass and their contributions to African-American history, including voting and labor rights, while preserving one of the city’s oldest industrial waterfront buildings.
Maritime Park is now the headquarters for Living Classrooms Foundation who provide hands-on education, job training, and health and wellness programs for children, youth, and adults from diverse backgrounds, with an emphasis on serving disadvantaged youth. Living Classrooms also maintains the site as a museum and art gallery with rotating exhibitions open to the public. Proceeds from the rental of Maritime Park benefit the Foundation’s ongoing educational and public programming that are hosted at this site.

Beautiful Venue with a wonderful staff
We picked the Frederick Douglass-Issac Myers Maritime Museum because of the flexibility with their spaces, but we were so happy that we received a lot more. Natalie was wonderful to work with and made things so easy for us to envision our dream wedding. She let us walk through the venue so many times to show it off to family. While Natalie wasn't there the actual night of the wedding, her team that was were so accommodating. We got married on the pier with the fabulous view of the city. Everyone talked about what a fabulous venue it was and they had never seen anything like it. Initially, I was concerned about the restaurant being open, but once we got there I didn't even think about it. If you're looking for a unique, flexible venue with a wonderful staff, this is the one for you.Sent on 05/14/2019

Dream wedding location in heart of Baltimore
Working with Natalie and the team at the Museum was a dream! They allowed us to tour the facility several times (after hours!) before we finally decided to book with them and then several times thereafter during the planning stages. They provided recommendations for layout and vendors but were also totally supportive when we did something different! Someone was there manning the front of the facility thought the wedding night which made it feel very secure. There was no issue with the attached restaurant and the location could not be beat for convenience for our out of town guests! So many hotels and parking options are within walking distance! Love the fact that we supported Living Classrooms when we booked the Museum and couldn’t have been more pleased with the way things turned out! Highly recommend having your wedding or other event at the Frederick Douglass Isaac Myers Maritime Museum!Sent on 02/02/2019

The Frederick Douglass Isaac Myers Maritime Park Museum is one of my favorite Baltimore sites along the water. We were excited to meet Marsha and learn about our options to host our reception at this site. Marsha's enthusiasm and open and honest suggestions for the day were a welcome addition to her services. We knew we were going to be reaching the maximum comfortable capacity for the space and she easily navigated that constraint and helped us fulfill our vision for our day.Sent on 03/07/2016
