Romance at Water's Edge....
Located in historic Fells Point, the Frederick Douglass - Isaac Myers Maritime Park defines Baltimore industrial elegance. As one of Baltimore City's oldest waterfront buildings, there are several unique spaces that are available for private event rentals. With its exquisite brick and woodwork, it will be sure to make the most perfect backdrop for your private reception. Choose to host an indoor event within the Founders' Room, exhibiting exposed brick walls and industrial wood beams reminiscent of Baltimore, or within the Bearman Gallery with floor-to-ceiling windows and access to balconies overlooking Baltimore's harbor. Events hosted outdoors on the bricked courtyard and Cardin Pier boast breathtaking panoramic views of the harbor and backlighting from Baltimore's iconic Domino Sugar sign, making incredible backdrops for your event photos. Whether you choose to host inside or outside, your private event is guaranteed to be both exceptional and memorable.
It's Rich History...
The Frederick Douglass - Isaac Myers Maritime Park celebrates the contributions of African-Americans in the development of Baltimore's maritime industry including the establishment of the Chesapeake Marine Railway and Dry Dock Company, the nation's first African-American owned and operated shipyard established in 1868 by Isaac Myers. The site honors the legacy of Isaac Myers and Frederick Douglass and their contributions to African-American history, including voting and labor rights, while preserving one of the city's oldest industrial waterfront buildings.
Maritime Park is now the headquarters for Living Classrooms Foundation who provide hands-on education, job training, and health and wellness programs for children, youth, and adults from diverse backgrounds, with an emphasis on serving disadvantaged youth. Living Classrooms also maintains the site as a museum and art gallery with rotating exhibitions open to the public. Proceeds from the rental of Maritime Park benefit the Foundation's ongoing educational and public programming that are hosted at this site.

The Frederick Douglass Isaac Myers Maritime Park Museum is one of my favorite Baltimore sites along the water. We were excited to meet Marsha and learn about our options to host our reception at this site. Marsha's enthusiasm and open and honest suggestions for the day were a welcome addition to her services. We knew we were going to be reaching the maximum comfortable capacity for the space and she easily navigated that constraint and helped us fulfill our vision for our day.

I had a wonderful experience with Marsha Jews, the event Director at the Frederick Douglass Isaac Myers Maritime Park Museum. The staff was responsive and helpful with all my questions and concerns. The venue itself is beautiful and made for a wonderful wedding reception. Of course when checking out venues be sure to factor in the cost of renting tables and chairs, as this venue does not provide them for you, however they are helpful with delivery, set up and break-down. I can't say enough great things about this venue. I had an incredibly special day. The setting was perfect. Parking is available close by for your guests as well (at a small cost), which is something to think about for a city wedding. Also there is a list of preferred vendors when it comes to catering, as this venue does not have a full kitchen. I used ROUGE fine catering and they were AMAZING as well.

There are a lot of great ceremony/reception sites in Baltimore but I think this one ranks near the top of the heap. It really has it all. We had a beautiful outdoor ceremony on the promenade at sunset overlooking the harbor. We used the third floor spaces for cocktail hour and the reception for about 200 guests. The views from the third floor are gorgeous in every direction and look incredible in our pictures. The staff was rally helpful and had great suggestions in terms of lay-out and decoration. Oh! Did I mention that this place is a much better value than many other sought-after Harbor sites?!
A fun and unique venue! Great views of the Inner Harbor!!!!!
