The food is amazing, the service is above and beyond, the staff feel like friends, the guest were blown away! How many times I was told that it was the best meal someone has had in years I lost count! My cousin and officiant mentioned that you could tell that our catering coordinator was respected and loved by her staff by the way they performed- with a smile and a pep about them that made everyone feel so taken care of. Anytime we needed anything they were happy to help and got the job done. The food was delicious, hot, and timed just right. For this detail oriented bride that doesn't miss a thing- this was the absolute right choice. Tawney and Jimmy were excellent and by the end I felt as if we were best friends! Thank you for giving these newlyweds lasting memories of great food and great service!Sent on 06/08/2021

The BEST wedding food!!
We worked with Tawney at Copper Kitchen for our wedding, and I can't recommend her (and the whole team) enough! We initially picked Copper Kitchen because they were recommended by the venue we had planned to work with. When COVID hit and we had to cancel our big wedding, Copper Kitchen was flexible with us. We ended up renting an AirBNB for a weekend with our immediate families, and we had Copper Kitchen cater the whole weekend! Tawney was so great in helping us think creatively through what foods would travel well and how much of each thing we needed (we brought everything from CK preassembled in foil pans, and then heated it for each meal in the oven of the AirBNB). They also made us a custom wedding cake based on something I saw online, and it was to die for. I seriously cannot emphasize enough how delicious their food is. Even though we brought everything in foil pans, it was still some of the best food I've ever had! Our family can't stop talking about how good the meals were- they've even asked us several times if we can get their favorite meals delivered to them again. Thank you Tawney and team!!Sent on 11/15/2020

Team of Copper Kitchen
My passion for great food began at an early age, as well as discovering my spiritual gift – hospitality. Coming from a huge family, my mother was always hosting all the holidays and many events at our house. My passion grew as I took on various positions in restaurants for 10 years starting out as hostess, then moving to server, bartender, and then eventually to restaurant management. My last position as a restaurant manager was where I met Chef Kevin in 1997, where we worked together for 2 years. I went off to the business world, and we remain great friends over the years. We would often co host the most outrageous dinner parties a few times a year.In 2008, I opened a personal assistance company, In 2009, I asked Chef Kevin if he wanted to do some private chefing for some of my clients. We began a meal delivery service, where all you needed to do was heat up the meal in the oven. The private chefing and meal delivery then led to dinner parties, cocktail parties, luncheon drop offs … eventually we decided it was clear we needed to make our unplanned business official – and did just that in March 2011.Our love and passion for food extended to traveling around the world together and through extensive research and brainstorming sessions to discover new ideas and flavors, so our menus are always changing. We are not afraid to try new ideas, and strive to always stay ahead of the curve, and support local farms as much as we can.We have a great ability serve others and can easily understand what the client wants in bringing their vision to life.

As a little girl, I remember my grandparents hosting epic Christmas parties in their basement. I know now that my love for planning and creating events came from this. I even inherited my Grandmother’s love of long to-do lists to help keep her organized! I love a good party and have owned my own event production company for the past 12 years. My organization skills, along with my slight OCD and attention to detail help to make event planning that much easier! One of proudest moment was turning a very large venue into a full-on circus complete with décor, performers and, of course, circus appropriate food! I’ll never forget how it felt seeing it all come together after months of planning.

As early as high school, if there was an opportunity to plan something, my hand was always the first one up. That followed throughout college taking on multiple positions within my sorority and post college when many of my sisters and friends started getting married, I was asked to help them plan. This transitioned into working in corporate events at a hotel which led to starting my own wedding planning company. I truly relish in using my Type A logistical and organizational based skillset to help others and see the wedding unfold exactly the way the couple envisioned.
I closed my own company because as much as I loved my clients, I missed the working collaboration of being on a team and so I joined Sacha’s Catering in Mt. Vernon. After a year with Sascha’s, the West Coast came calling and I moved to Los Angeles, doing events within my department at the world renowned museum, The Getty Center. After two years, I moved to Las Vegas (fun place to visit, strange place to live) for a year and a half working in business consulting and on small scale events. Since returning to Maryland in 2017, I worked for a country club running private and club events and I was an Event Manager at MICA. I am thrilled to be with Copper Kitchen as my return to wedding planning and be working with a wonderful team of planners and creatives with a collective goal of exceeding expectations for all of our clients.
Copper Kitchen is fantastic to work with! Their food is delicious and the presentation is so unique and forward-thinking. Jen and her staff are so professional. We love working with them!
Copper Kitchen is one of my favorite caterers in Maryland! They are a pleasure to work with, and their staff executes events flawlessly, which enables me to do my job more effectively. Most importantly, their food is superb! Chef Kevin Miller is a true genius at his craft. I'm just as enthusiastic about his product as he is! I would highly recommend Copper Kitchen for any special event, big or small.
