Exceptional to work with!
We truly enjoyed working at Frederick Douglass. We really appreciate how well cared for and welcoming the venue is. It’s always a pleasure being part of events here, and we’d happily recommend the venue to couples and fellow vendors. -

Our Guests Keep Complimenting our Venue!
We had a 10/10 experience with our wedding at this venue. From initial contact during planning, the venue manager Natalie was responsive, professional, personable, and knowledgeable. She helped with questions and even a few vendor recommendations. The location could not be more perfect, as you can see from photos and from the moment you enter. It captures Baltimore in such a special way, in the shadow of the Domino Sugar sign and walkable to Fells Point. We also had great support with logistics; the venue allowed us to do biodegradable confetti and worked with us on other details. We had perfect weather, but the rain option here would have been just as stunning. Plus, your event supports a good cause, as the Living Classrooms' work benefits local schools (including mine when I was little!). The only thing I will note is you may need a generator for outside--like we did--and we didn't realize it until a bit late in the process, but it all worked out. I truly have no complaints, though. Our guests continue to comment on how wonderful our venue was, and I don't think we will ever get sick of hearing it! We hope to be back for another event one day! -

Beautiful venue - the best of Baltiomore!
This was the perfect location for our Baltimore wedding. The ceremony on the harbor was beautiful, and we adjusted for the colder-than-expected weather and rain by moving the cocktail hour inside without changing how we were doing dinner and the reception. The venue is the perfect size, and everyone was extremely helpful and responsive. I would definitely recommend it! -

Wedding Celebration at Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park
We recently had our wedding at the Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park and it was absolutely fantastic! The entire staff is incredible - especially Natalie, the Director of Private Events. She was wonderful to work with and very responsive. Plus, the location and the building are both beautiful and historically important. We couldn't recommend them highly enough! -

The Beauty of Baltimore: Where Baltimore & NOLA Merged
My husband and I loved the location. We are from port city and like being near water. This was the perfect location for our guest to experience the outside deck then progress inside for the remaining festivities. We utilized the outdoor and indoor spaces. Due to the size of our wedding we held our cocktail hour on the pie, dinner and first dances in the main gallery on the 3rd floor, and dancing on the outer gallery on the third floor that leads outside on the decks. This space worked perfectly for our guests. Natalie was great to work with. It was also nice to know that a portion of the fee going to Living Classrooms. Our guest loved it, especially our out of town guests. I highly recommend this venue.-

We had the most incredible wedding at the Frederick Douglass Maritime Museum. The staff is incredibly helpful and was so accommodating. Natalie Halpern is a hero and did everything she possibly could to make the day a success. I am so happy we got married here. Best decision we ever made!-

Baltimore's Most Beautiful Venue!
One of the number one things our guests are talking about after our wedding was our Venue! Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park was the perfect location! The Promenade and the Pier created the perfect backdrop for our Ceremony and Cocktail hour.So Many incredible picture opportunities with this venue
The Venue truly showcases the beauty that is Baltimore. The Venue director was there every step of the planning and our day would not have been as special as it was without her and her team working the day of wedding.

Beautiful are great staff
We cannot say enough good things about FDIMMP! Natalie her team and the whole venue were amazing. They were responsive and flexible and it’s a beautiful spot. Worth the views alone. Our only warning is remember you are only paying for the venue! Natalie made that very clear to us but we didn’t realize how much that would entail as we are wedding newbies. Rentals and lighting and only their approved list of caterers ended up being way more expensive than we thought. The venue is worth the price but remember how many other things are needed! Thank you FDIMMP couldn’t have asked for a better bmore wedding!-

Amazing Venue in Baltimore that Also GIves Back
My husband and I just got married at the Frederick Douglass- Isaac Myers Maritime Park on 11/5/22 and we could not be happier! Natalie and her team were very easy to work with and the venue itself is so flexible. We held our ceremony out on the pier, cocktail hour inside on the second floor where guests were able to go through the museum, and our dinner and reception were on the third floor in a beautiful room full of exposed brick. We had so many guests compliment how unique and beautiful the venue was! We were also so happy to work with a non-profit space where money goes back towards Living Classrooms and the community. That was a huge factor in our decision. Natalie and her team were also very helpful in recommending vendors who work well in their space. We had the best time and we cannot thank the team at Frederick Douglass-Isaac Myers Maritime Park enough! -

Dream Venue in Baltimore
We were SO EXCITED to find Frederick Douglass - Isaac Myers Maritime Park for our wedding. Searching for a venue was the first (and hardest) task on our wedding planning checklist. I knew I wanted water views and easy access for all of our out-of-town guests, but we also wanted both an indoor and an outdoor reception option (outdoor for COVID safety, and indoor in case of bad weather). FDIMMP checked all of our boxes and was absolutely beautiful. The venue coordinator, Natalie, is so nice and easy to work with. I lost track of how many guests complimented our venue, and our photos turned out absolutely gorgeous. Maritime Park is an awesome Baltimore wedding venue! -

Amazing breath taking wedding
Natalie was amazing and responsive. She was so helpful in answering all of our questions. The venue itself was the best back drop we could have asked for. With all of our guests mostly coming from out of town, it was great to show them a beautiful part of Baltimore. -

Gorgeous Venue!
This was the only venue that I site an in-person site visit for and I immediately knew this was going to be my wedding venue. The city views from the dock are gorgeous and the interior views are just as pretty. The entire Living Classrooms team was wonderful to work with and made the day go so smoothly. They worked with me through a postponement and answered all of my million questions that came up during the planning process without any hesitation.-

Absolutely perfect venue!
I would highly recommend the Frederick Douglass Maritime Museum for a wedding venue. From the beginning Natalie Halpern was very responsive and accommodating. Although it was a challenging year with COVID, she sent us pictures until we were able to see the space. She was very professional and great to work with. She provided guidance on the set up and was amazing throughout the entire process. The evening of the event could not have gone more smoothly thanks to the staff member, DeChantal, that was there that night. She too was friendly and accommodating and everything went very smoothly and the venue was beautiful. -

Wonderful Venue!
This location couldn't have been more perfect, and we're sooo happy we chose it! I looked at hundreds of venues in the DMV area, and the first time I laid eyes on this location, I knew it was the one. I kept looking at other locations to make sure another location wasn't a better fit, but FDIMMP was always in the back of mind...and nothing else compared. Thankfully my husband shared my enthusiasm.
We chose FDIMMP, because it spotlights the fight for freedom and equality. We wanted a meaningful location for our future family to visit, and it seemed like the perfect destination for the kids of an interracial marriage. We also loved that it was located on the water; had the rustic, industrial elegance of exposed brick and wood; and in the heart of Fell's Point so our guests could explore all the fun bars and restaurants nearby while visiting for the weekend.
Please note that that they have a list of selected vendors you have to work with. All of the vendors are really good but make sure you get quotes from them to ensure you stay within your budget. -

It was a picture perfect wedding venue
We loved having our wedding here! It was a perfect spot. Majority of the guests were from out of town. It gave a beautiful view of the harbor and Baltimore with air conditioning in August! The venue itself is beautiful and has so much character. Natalie is fantastic and truly awesome to work with!! -

Absolutely beautiful!
The Frederick Douglass Maritime Museum is beautiful - we ended up changing our original planned date for one that they had available, and we are so glad that we did! Natalie was great to work with - she was very helpful, especially in the beginning with recommendations for vendors, and very responsive to emails! We definitely recommend making sure at least some of your vendors are familiar with the space - most of ours were, and it showed in the end results! Everything came together beautifully! -

Beautiful Venue with a wonderful staff
We picked the Frederick Douglass-Issac Myers Maritime Museum because of the flexibility with their spaces, but we were so happy that we received a lot more. Natalie was wonderful to work with and made things so easy for us to envision our dream wedding. She let us walk through the venue so many times to show it off to family. While Natalie wasn't there the actual night of the wedding, her team that was were so accommodating. We got married on the pier with the fabulous view of the city. Everyone talked about what a fabulous venue it was and they had never seen anything like it. Initially, I was concerned about the restaurant being open, but once we got there I didn't even think about it. If you're looking for a unique, flexible venue with a wonderful staff, this is the one for you. -

Dream wedding location in heart of Baltimore
Working with Natalie and the team at the Museum was a dream! They allowed us to tour the facility several times (after hours!) before we finally decided to book with them and then several times thereafter during the planning stages. They provided recommendations for layout and vendors but were also totally supportive when we did something different! Someone was there manning the front of the facility thought the wedding night which made it feel very secure. There was no issue with the attached restaurant and the location could not be beat for convenience for our out of town guests! So many hotels and parking options are within walking distance! Love the fact that we supported Living Classrooms when we booked the Museum and couldn’t have been more pleased with the way things turned out! Highly recommend having your wedding or other event at the Frederick Douglass Isaac Myers Maritime Museum! -

My now-husband and I were looking for a unique, nautical wedding venue in the Baltimore area and sure did we find it! Even in a torrential downpour on the wedding day, our guests couldn't stop raving about the venue -- and the cannon firings! Natalie and the entire staff at Select Event Group and the Constellation / Historic Ships were so wonderful to work with. They let us, our vendors, and our family on board multiple times leading up to the wedding to get the lay of the land and, on the day of, helped make everything perfect -- despite the rain! The Constellation speaks for itself in so many ways, but the staff really made the experience as magical as it was -- I couldn't recommend them enough! -

The Frederick Douglass Isaac Myers Maritime Park Museum is one of my favorite Baltimore sites along the water. We were excited to meet Marsha and learn about our options to host our reception at this site. Marsha's enthusiasm and open and honest suggestions for the day were a welcome addition to her services. We knew we were going to be reaching the maximum comfortable capacity for the space and she easily navigated that constraint and helped us fulfill our vision for our day. -

I had a wonderful experience with Marsha Jews, the event Director at the Frederick Douglass Isaac Myers Maritime Park Museum. The staff was responsive and helpful with all my questions and concerns. The venue itself is beautiful and made for a wonderful wedding reception. Of course when checking out venues be sure to factor in the cost of renting tables and chairs, as this venue does not provide them for you, however they are helpful with delivery, set up and break-down. I can't say enough great things about this venue. I had an incredibly special day. The setting was perfect. Parking is available close by for your guests as well (at a small cost), which is something to think about for a city wedding. Also there is a list of preferred vendors when it comes to catering, as this venue does not have a full kitchen. I used ROUGE fine catering and they were AMAZING as well. -

When I first saw this ship, I knew that I wanted to get married there. 3 years later, my fiance and I called up the museum and proceeded to plan for a pirate themed wedding. Laura was a huge help and the event was a huge success (and who doesn't enjoy a cannon firing?)! -

It is very hard to plan a wedding in Baltimore from Texas let me say that first! Second, Laura with the Constellation made the process so easy, kept everyone on track and happy. We had our offbeat fairytale/ NAVY wedding. weird but it works so beautifully in a little mermaid sort of way. Laura made the whole experience wonderful and the constellation gave the guests a unique way to enjoy the event as well with guided tours and them allowing hour d'voures passed throughout the ship. A great choice for a way to please the traditional family members for a bride and groom who dont like tradition too much. And it was a great way for us to celebrate my now husband who served in the NAVY. They allowed us to do colors during our ceremony which was important to us. -

There are a lot of great ceremony/reception sites in Baltimore but I think this one ranks near the top of the heap. It really has it all. We had a beautiful outdoor ceremony on the promenade at sunset overlooking the harbor. We used the third floor spaces for cocktail hour and the reception for about 200 guests. The views from the third floor are gorgeous in every direction and look incredible in our pictures. The staff was rally helpful and had great suggestions in terms of lay-out and decoration. Oh! Did I mention that this place is a much better value than many other sought-after Harbor sites?! -

Our wedding on the USS Constellation was incredible and more than surpassed our expectations. The pricing is reasonable, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The venue itself provides an excellent backdrop, and with multiple decks and all the trimmings of a sailing vessel, it can support many different wedding themes if you have the imagination.
Laura Givens, the Director of Promotions and Special Events, helped us develop a floor plan, worked with our vendors prior to the wedding day, was on hand for a walkthrough a few weeks before, helped the vendors setup the day of, and made sure the ship’s staff was available to help us put on the event. The staff was dressed in period attire, provided tours for our guests, and shot a cannon for us during the ceremony—all included in the price. Our guests were very impressed with the tours and the cannon shot; they still talk about how unique and fun they were. The staff was on hand all night to help with everything and was very kind and attentive to the elderly guests that needed assistance with the lift to get down to a lower deck.
The ship was clean, safe, well lit, and provided a great private atmosphere even though we were in the middle of the Baltimore Inner Harbor. It easily accommodated our ~75 person wedding with plenty of room for everyone to walk around. We had a plated dinner and were able to squeeze everyone under the big awning. It was probably a little tight when everyone was seated, but understandable given the fact that it’s a ship and not a ballroom. We had string lights hung up under the awnings by a vendor and it made for a gorgeous backdrop in pictures. We had to make a last minute change the floor plan because of main deck’s design, but Laura helped us figure that out during rehearsal and worked with the caterer to make it happen.
We have no complaints and would recommend this venue to anyone looking for something unique. Laura, thank you for helping us put on a great day!

Beautiful Venue
We wanted a unique venue to get married at in Baltimore and Frederick Douglass - Isaac Myers Maritime Park perfectly met our needs. We had a beautiful ceremony on the pier overlooking the harbor with perfect weather at the end of October. Our reception inside was great, the only complaint that I can make is that a projector in the reception space was left on and no one at the venue would help us get it turned off. Besides that it was a beautiful evening and Natalie was a huge help in the booking process. -

Beautiful Place along the water!!
This venue is amazing! Natalie is wonderful and really cares about helping you make your day perfect. We had an important vendor cancel on us a few weeks prior to our wedding and Natalie jumped in immediately to help us find a replacement, who was even better than our first pick. And there are so many amazing aspects to this space, you really get it all. You get water and dock with boat vibes, old time building with brick vibe, and industrial vibe. This was the first and only venue we saw and I'd do it over again the same way. We received so many compliments that our wedding was the most beautiful wedding from so many friends and family and I don't think they were just saying that! If you want a wedding along the water in Baltimore, this is the place to do it!-

The perfect setting for a night to remember
When looking for a venue, we knew we wanted to get married in the city where we fell in love and to support a place that gives back to the community. FDIMMP was our top choice for its space, location, historic landmark, and its reputation for working with the community through Living Classrooms. Being in the heart of Baltimore with a gorgeous backdrop of the water, ships, and the Domino Sugar sign, it was exactly what we wanted. -

We chose the perfect venue for our June wedding! Marsha Jews as well as Lauren Givens were great to work with and the staff was friendly and extremely helpful! When we first located the venue, we did encounter issues with receiving timely responses from the wedding specialists. My advice is to just show up during working hours! Once we popped up at the venue, we were able to get in touch with Lauren and Marsha immediately. From then on, it was smooth sailing! The day of my wedding I had issues with a flower delivery and they stated that they would not be able to deliver the order to the venue. Marsha was able to voice her/my concerns on social media which got the attention of the shipment company and they delivered the flowers iwthin the hour! Talk about going above and beyond for your clients!!! I am extremly grateful for their service and for making my wedding day absolutely PERFECT! -

Beautiful location right on the harbor. It has 3 rooms you can use along with a large outdoor area and pier. Great back-up room for those brides who want an outdoor wedding but are concerned about what happens if it rains. The site coordinator has great suggestions on decoration options. The value in comparison to other options on the harbor is outstanding. We looked everywhere in the area and couldn't find more space with more beautiful views. -

Great location! Dog friendly!
The Maritime Park was the honestly the only venue we needed to look at. As residents of Fells Point we had our heart set on this venue and it could not have been more perfect! Plus it is COMPLETELY dog friendly, so our buddy could be there start to finish! The backdrop of the city is gorgeous, the boats add such a nice touch, and the versatility of the space is amazing. We were able to have both a rain plan and a severe weather plan (which we were dangerously close to needing to use) and this space provided so many options to accommodate all weather. Thankfully, the rain cleared just in time and we were able to use the dock for our ceremony, the promenade for cocktail hour, and the third floor for the reception. Natalie was incredibly helpful in providing recommended vendors. potential floor plan ideas, and general advice throughout the process. We could not have hoped for anything better!-

Best location in Baltimore to host your whole wedding day!
The FDMM was a great venue for our wedding day. We loved being able to use the outdoor space for our ceremony with the option to have our cocktail hour and reception outside as well. Since we had our wedding in November we opted to have the cocktail hour inside on the 2nd floor with the museum and the reception on the 3rd floor. The flexibility and movement from outside to the different floors inside made the night fun and exciting for us and our guests. This venue comes with vendors already vetted and made narrowing down a caterer and rental companies is simple. If you're a Baltimore couple like us with Fells Point as your old stomping grounds, the FDMM is the venue for your special day! -

September Wedding
This location was perfect and beautiful and had the guests talking about it even after the wedding event. Inside and outside are both very nice. We did a ceremony on the pier, cocktail hour on the promenade, and a tented reception on the brick patio. Loved it ! -

We held our November wedding at the Frederick Douglass / Isaac Myers Maritime Park & Museum - what a spectacular spot! Ours was a small wedding, less than 30 people. The ceremony was in the Boat Room, with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out on the harbor. Cocktail hour was spread between the Boat Room and the exhibit room across the sky bridge, and dinner and reception upstairs in the Bearman Gallery. The venue offers unlimited indoor and outdoor photo settings, especially around sunset. Marsha Jews and her assistant were good to work with, especially when I dumped a table full of glassware trying to be "helpful." But most of our interface was through our caterer, the on-site Waterfront Kitchen, and their event planner, Sara Faulkner - highly recommended! You can't beat the combination of location, ambiance and water view! -

We initially decided to go with this venue after being shown around by Marsha. We were lucky to see the venue as it was being set up for a wedding and were able to see how specific Marsha was about making the bride's preferences perfect. After booking the venue, we worked with Quantana who was great. We did have some trouble with contacting Marsha a couple times, but it all worked out as it become closer to the wedding date. We were also able to take our families by the venue at random pretty much, and were allowed to show them around without any hassle.
The venue is so unique and didn't require a lot of decor. It is in the heart of Baltimore with great scenery. Our small wedding (~90 people) was perfect for this smaller space. There is nothing that we would have changed about our wedding venue. -

This reception hall is a museum that sits right off the water absolutely beautiful backdrop with the ships passing by you can have your wedding indoors or out it's so lovely and high ceilings. The contact person is a flirt to the point that a few times she was touchy feely and buttoning and unbuttoning her blouse around the men but once you get pass her unprofessional behavior the place is a dream! -
