After looking at a few other venues for our wedding ceremony and reception we pretty much knew right away that we wanted to choose Fort Adams - and we're so happy we did! We had our ceremony on the West Lawn, cocktail hour in the casemates, and our reception under a tent on the North Lawn. We loved the variety and uniqueness that each section of the fort provided, and we loved being able to utilize it all! Moving our guests around these different spaces created a really cool (and absolutely gorgeous) experience for everyone. We also loved getting the opportunity to fire a cannon - definitely a memorable experience! The Fort Adams team was so wonderful to work with, always available for questions, and really helped us have the most awesome day!

One of the biggest decisions during wedding planning is your venue. Fort Adams should be at the top of your list when you are looking at venues. The possibilities are endless here and the team there is amazing. Trevor was the most accommodating, patient and organized person that we worked with throughout the wedding planning process. He answered every question we had with confidence and was there on the wedding day making sure everything we planned was going smoothly. The venue was beyond gorgeous and I can't emphasize enough how great the staff was. Absolutely book Fort Adams for your wedding!

Newport is a major destination for weddings, and Fort Adams provides all the best of Newport at a very reasonable price point while also supporting the preservation of the Fort.
The Fort is incredibly expansive which gives guests an immersive experience as they travel throughout the fort during the wedding. Guests can enjoy the Newport scenery and passing by sailboats from atop the Fort and on the lawns. The grounds are truly beautiful and unique!
Trevor, Cara and the team were a joy to work with! They love what they do and care deeply about the Fort and the experience. Trevor and Cara were incredibly responsive and Trevor attended to each detail with amazing care. We are so grateful!

Fort Adams was an amazing venue to work with and it was honestly one of the most beautiful spots in all of Newport. Because you can bring in all your own vendors, you have so much flexibility in terms of budget and style. Jen and her team there were so above and beyond in helping us coordinate everything leading up to the big day as well as on our wedding day. I can’t say thank you enough to their team. If you are looking for a water front venue that is affordable and breathtaking, Fort Adams really fits the bill.

From our first site visit, Andrew and I saw ourselves getting married at Fort Adams. The variety of scenery Fort Adams provides is one of a kind. We have received so many compliments on how unique and beautiful the backdrops from our wedding photos were. With the Newport Bridge serving as our ceremony backdrop, followed by cocktails in the courtyard guests felt comfortable enjoy the outdoors. Due to the COVID restrictions, we had to downsized our wedding guest count. Silver lining was this allowing us to host our Reception in the Casemates. The exposed brick, enchanting lighting and historic charm created the perfect atmosphere for our intimate celebration. Thank you to Jen and the entire Fort Adams team for making October 10, 2020 a day we will never forget.

We had our ceremony and reception at Fort Adams in August and still can’t believe how perfect the venue was! Jen was so helpful throughout the planning process and the staff was so hospitable during our walk through and for the wedding day. They catered to our every need- they drove our guests from the parking lot to the lawn on golf carts and even brought the bridal party around on golf carts so that we could move efficiently from photos to the ceremony, to cocktail hour, and reception.
We had our ceremony on the lawn with stunning views of the bridge and boats- our guests were amazed at how picturesque the scenery was. Our cocktail hour was in the casemates and parade field, which was a great space for guests to sit back, play games, and marvel in the history and beauty of the fort. We had a tent on North Lawn for the reception, and it was an amazing place to see the sunset and the bridge and moon lit up at night.
Having our wedding at Fort Adams was the best decision! Our photographer and videographer had never shot there before and were super excited about all of the great photo opportunities both inside and outside. The venue is a blank slate for you to create the wedding of your dreams with a beautiful backdrop rich in history and views. Jen and the Fort Adams Trust Staff gave us the best day of our lives!

Fort Adams is a special place. In the nighttime it is magical. We had our ceremony inside the fort December 8th. Jen was more than helpful to us throughout the process. She made every request, thought, question seem like no big deal, in a good way, and she worked to make our ceremony as special as we hoped it would be.

Fort Adams is a stunning venue. We had our ceremony outside the walls facing the water and our reception inside the Fort, both in the casemates and in a Tent. Every part of the venue is beautiful and makes for amazing pictures. Fort Adams is where the host the folk festival so the staff are seasoned professionals when it comes to events. There is no request, large or small, that they can't tackle. Jen, the venue coordinator, is absolutely fantastic. She is warm and helpful and incredibly detail oriented. She was super flexible when we needed to show up a little earlier than planned and even put out some of the Fort's Adirondack chairs for our guests to make the space between the casemates and the tent more homey. Next to my day-of coordinator, Jen was absolutely crucial to the success of our wedding. I honestly cannot say enough good things about her. If I had to do it all over again, I would pick Fort Adams a million times over.

We had our wedding this past September at Fort Adams, and have nothing but amazing things to say. There are multiple locations in and around the Fort that can accommodate a wide variety of wedding sizes. The largest are the North Lawn and the Parade Field. We had our wedding on the North Lawn, with chairs set up on the lawn facing the water and the Newport bridge, and a large tent set up on the lawn for our reception. We also were able to use the area inside the Fort (on the Parade Field) for our cocktail hour, where we had the bar setup inside the Casemates (an incredibly beautiful brick-lined room).

The coordinator, Jen, was absolutely amazing throughout the entire experience. She helped answer questions, showed us and our families around the Fort multiple times when we needed another look for planning, and coordinated with all of the vendors leading up to our big day and on the day itself. She was extremely helpful throughout the whole experience, and very responsive to all of our questions as they popped up.

The location itself is absolutely beautiful, and I would recommend anyone considering a Newport wedding to setup a time to visit and take a stroll along the area. The North Lawn has gorgeous views out onto the water; we have great pictures from our ceremony with sailboats sailing in the background out on the water behind us. Having a tent set up on the lawn for the reception gave it a nice, elegant "backyard" feeling, and we had adirondack chairs setup outside the tent for people to relax. The best part is that you can make your wedding completely customizable to whatever your dream is. Sure, it's a little extra work to choose what vendors you want for catering and tents, but there are literally endless possibilities for making your wedding exactly what you want it to be (instead of only being able to work within four walls of a hotel banquet hall).

Overall, 5 stars for amazing location, customizability, and great coordinator/staff!

Spectacular location right on the water. Great for photos and the staff was so nice. Answered all our questions and we had lots of fun.
