The Fitchburg Art Museum is one of the most treasured cultural institutions in Central New England and serves the cities of Fitchburg and Leominster and surrounding communities in North Central Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.
FAM was founded in 1925, and its four-building complex, with over 20,000 square feet of exhibition space, features exhibitions from its art historical collections as well as special loan exhibitions focused on regional contemporary art. Collection strengths include 19th Century American Art, American photography, African Art, Greek and Roman Art and Egyptian Art. The Egyptian collection is presented in an interactive gallery designed for families and school groups.
FAM plays a vital role in the cultural life of the region. Area schools, community groups and artist organizations are featured in FAM’s Community Gallery, and the Museum maintains active educational partnerships with public and private schools and Fitchburg State University. FAM also participates in efforts to stimulate the local creative economy, particularly by partnering in community-based festivals and public art projects.
FAM is an engine for creativity, education, community building and fun!

My husband and I chose the Fitchburg Art Museum for our wedding reception and we were not disappointed! The entire museum staff did a fantastic job in helping us organize our event. The museum itself is absolutely beautiful, and our guests did nothing but compliment us on our choice of venue. We highly recommend the museum to anyone looking for a classy, historic and unique place to have their event.Sent on 10/24/2013

How many people have their wedding reception at an Art Museum?
We love the Fitchburg Art Museum! It's an interactive museum with permanent exhibits like "Evoking Eleanor" and "Discover Ancient Egypt." Find out what the revolving exhibits will be when your wedding occurs! Unfortunately, the exhibit in the event room was not the most appropriate for a wedding. Fortunately, no one really noticed. However, the exhibit upstairs was the local artist show! There was a wonderful mix of fascinating paintings, mixed media, sculptures, and art installations. You'll see our amazing gallery photos we took in our whole wedding gear! We also loved that we were able to have the entire museum open for our guests for the entire reception for a low additional cost! The caterers loved that the kitchen (though small to us, plenty large enough for them) was right next to the reception room!Sent on 09/05/2019
