When I thought about what kind of food we wanted for our upstate New York wedding at Gather Greene, I knew I wanted something farm to table and family style. We looked at several vendors, but nothing felt quite right until we found Fancy Girl. Living in California, and planning the wedding during the height of the pandemic, we ended up having to book catering before even tasting the food. Because our planners hadn’t worked with Fancy Girl before, we relied heavily on Wedding Wire and Knot reviews when making our pick and I’m not going to lie and say I wasn’t a little nervous doing so. So I’m here to tell anyone in even remotely the same boat that you WILL NOT REGRET hiring Jeanette and her team. When I wanted to create an off menu salad to celebrate the tastes of summer (heirloom tomato, peach, basil, and burrara), Jeanette didn’t even blink. She just created the freshest, most delicious salad with the ripest tomatoes and peaches from nearby farms, and creamiest burrata I’ve ever had. When we saw the menu and saw pigs in a blanket and a shot of beer, we thought how freaking cute is that (spoiler alert: our guests LOVED them and couldn’t get enough of the tiny beer mugs). We’ve heard more times than we can count now how our food was the best meal anyone has ever had at a wedding, and while we couldn’t agree more, I’d also add that frankly it was just incredible food period. I’d pay good money any day of the week for the cedar planked salmon or tender short ribs or fusilli that must have had crack in it I couldn’t get enough. And though we originally intended to have only s’mores for dessert, when Jeanette tossed in some caramel bars during our eventual tasting, we couldn’t help but add those to the menu. They were, in a word, delicious. There’s so much more I could say, like what a big smile we had on our faces when our planners told us Jeanette was foraging the day before for our wedding, or how the food was not only incredibly delicious but also INSANELY beautifully presented, but I’ll try to keep this brief and just say Fancy Girl helped make our day positively perfect and anyone would be lucky to have Jeanette and crew on their team.

Jeanette and her team at Fancy Girl Table were a delight to work with! Super professional and organized! We had a tasting in Manhattan months before the wedding! Jeanette worked tirelessly with us on making sure we had ordered all of the equipment we needed for our Cocktail hour and reception at Hutton Brickyards in Kingston, New York. All of our guests were blown away by the quality of the food and its presentation (e.g., edible flowers on salads). I highly recommend Fancy Girl Table for your next event in the New York or Hudson Valley areas!

When we booked our wedding venue, the owner told us the first thing we needed to do, before even calling our parents, was call Fancy Girl and book Jeanette. He was right, and I am so glad we did! More than anything else about our wedding, our guests are still raving about the food weeks later. From cocktail hour to dinner, to dessert, to late night snacks, everything was perfect. The food, the service, the presentation were all above and beyond. Jeanette was a pleasure to work with and I cannot recommend her enough.

Every single guest we have seen since the wedding has made a point to RAVE about the food we had. Fancy Girl did an incredible job at taking our random thoughts and ideas and creating a cohesive meal that was able to accomodate every one of our dietary restrictions, from a vegetarian who is also allergic to mushrooms, to gluten free needs. Most impressively, not a single person with dietary restriction felt like they were missing out in any way. Everything that made it onto the table was fresh, delicious, and perfectly presented. Jeanette also took excellent care of our vendors, and was so good about keeping everything on schedule and running smoothly.

Hands down the best food ever - Jeanette and her team are amazing! My husband and I are major foodies and we knew the food had to be the best thing at our wedding at Crested Hen Farms in High Falls NY. We had an unfortunate circumstance and had to get a new caterer less than 2 months to the wedding. And we realized it was a blessing is disguise because Jeanette was amazing and her food and her service exceeded our expectations. She was so helpful and responsive throughout the whole process and we couldn't be happier. She was flexible and open with our menu options and helped us tailor the whole menu to the way we wanted it.

Every single one of our guests compliment the staff and food and said how AMAZING the food was and still continues to compliment 2+ weeks after the wedding. Our menu consisted of an amazing beet/granola salad, rosemary lemon chicken (best chicken I ever had, no joke) Hanger steak (omg amazing), smashed potatoes, cornbread and roasted carrots with pumpkin brittle. The desserts, WOW - chocolate milk shooters with mini chocolate chip cookies, bourbon popcorn brownies & carrot cake whoopie pies -they were all amazing!!! But not only did the food taste good, the plating was so beautiful presented and went perfect with our rustic romantic theme.

I can go on and on but if you book Jeanette and Fancy Girl Catering, you will not be disappointed and it will be the best decision you make for your wedding.

Fancy Girl was probably the best vendor choice we made. The tasting was wonderful and comfortable. Jeanette and Margaret are wonderful people with immense talent. I love cooking and food in general very much, some would say too much, and it was very important for me to have good food at our wedding.

We did family style, steak and monk fish with a salad and some amazing vegetable driven sides. Everything was fantastic. Cocktail hour food was very good as well, and there was plenty to go around. I really can't recommend Fancy Girl enough.

Amazing amazing amazing! My husband and I were really focused on having amazing food at our wedding and not typical "wedding" food and Jeanette and her team DELIVERED!
Im still hearing weeks after the wedding how amazing the food was. The steak for mains and the "mini hot dogs and beer shots" for cocktail hour were particular hits!
Jeanette was so great throughout the whole process and extremely flexible - we asked if she'd be able to use a protein not on her list (monkfish) and she not only accommodated to us but made it an amazing main meal!
Enough about the taste though - the LOOK! This is some of the most photogenic wedding food ever. Her plating is incredible and the addition of edible flowers is fun, vibrant and elevates every dish to a work of art!
From the first email when she was so responsive and helpful to our tasting I KNEW she was going to be incredible and I really couldn't recommend her more!

Fancy Girl were so far beyond professional and exceeded any and all expectations my wife and I could've hoped for. Jeanette was so personable, so fun, helpful, accommodating, and incredibly responsive throughout the entire process.

The food we had at our tasting with Fancy Girl was so incredibly delicious, and I'm not sure how, but the entire menu we chose tasted even better the day of our wedding. We've been getting non-stop compliments from our guests about how delicious the entire menu was, from the hors d'oeuvres, to the salad to dinner & desert.

Jeanette also went out of her way and helped us with finding all the vendors we used, and the wait and bar staff she provided were so attentive and took care of absolutely everyone, especially going out of their way for my wife and myself, consistently checking in on us.

I really cannot say enough great things about how amazing Jeanette and Fancy Girl Table were. Would recommend using them as they made the entire process so easy and helped us so effortlessly to make our wedding the biggest and best party Brooklyn has ever known.

"The best wedding food we've ever had!", is what we hear most from people after our wedding in Upstate, NY in October 2018. We were on the verge of a catastrophe after having a falling out with our first caterer only a few months prior to our wedding date over unexpected charges and exorbitant prices. Jeanette was there to pick up the pieces. She provided an excellent tasting on short notice, worked within our budget, and was transparent about ALL costs upfront. She went above and beyond the call of duty by working hand-in-hand with the rental company to ensure we had all we needed for our wedding, which took a lot of the stress off of us. Her menu was nothing short of incredible, from all of the plentiful options, it's great taste, the beautiful presentation, and on. Best of all, it was all organic, farm-to-table food, exactly what we envisioned people enjoying at our wedding. I cannot say enough great things about Jeanette and her team (wonderful day-of coordination, to boot) and highly recommend booking for your next wedding/big event in NYC/the Hudson Valley region!
