In order to provide guests with the freshest oysters, Red Oyster USA sources its cuisine from family-owned oyster farms. During your event, the professional oyster shuckers open the mollusks on the spot for your guests, giving them the chance to enjoy flavorful shellfish. The shuckers, referred to as Oystertainers, are excellent at conversation and knowledgeable about the oysters they serve.

Hi, I am Angelique and moved in Summer 2017 from the Netherlands to US to set up Red Oyster USA. We are doing Oystertainment® for almost 20 years in Europe and it was time to expand our business to the US. Since then we did many weddings, rehearsal dinners, cocktail hours, receptions and all kinds of parties and events. To set up a new business in a new country is not always easy with the diference in culture and language (you still hear my Dutch accent). In my free time, I am busy with our 3 kids (who love it here in the US) and their sports. And I love to walk with our brown Lab, Sam through the woods.
Sidney is our first Oystertainer in the US and from the first training she was hooked! She traveled to Europe to get more inspiration and was part of the team which ran the TEFAF oysterbar. Because of her expertise and craftmanhip, she trained all the American oystertainers, oystertained many parties and events and does our virtual oyster shucking classes. She is a very creative and free spirit, a graphic designer and loves her two cats!
Matijn is the founding father of Oystertainment®. Driven by his great passion for oysters he wanted that everyone could enjoy the experience of eating oysters. More than 20 years ago he started the Oestercompagnie in the Netherlands. It was an overnight succes and we have been oystertaining in Europe and now also in US. Oysters are fascinating and he can talk about oysters for hours. Matijn had the idea of roving oystershuckers because he enjoyed working with great oysters and great people, and 20 years later, he still loves it. He can be very proud that the Oystertainment that he has invented is still very much alive and kicking! Whether it's a high end art fair, a small reception or the wholesaler who sells our oysters, he connects instantly with everyone. His ideas for new oyster products or services are endless and its hard to stop him. He likes to ride his bike, to cruise with his dreamcar on the country roads or buidling a new treehouse. And whenever he is in France, he will search on the local fleamarkets for authentic oyster plates! The wall in our headoffice is almost full!
