Liz is absolutely, incredibly, talented. She made my wedding morning so fun and stress free for me and the bridal party. I absolutely loved my makeup and Liz helped my change a couple things from my trial and I couldn’t have asked for better. My makeup was flawless and lasted well into the after party. I hired Liz for my wedding this past year, Liz made the trip from Raleigh to Wilmington to start bright and early at 7:30am. Liz did a phenomenal job for all of my bridal party, myself, my mom, and mother in law. We had a very short timeline but Liz was able to get all eight of us completed with time to spare. Hiring Liz for your wedding will be one less thing to worry about. Highly recommend!

Liz at Dark Hearts Artistry made my wedding so special with her wit, uplifting energy, and talent. When I first reached out to her, she got back to me quickly and was transparent about her process, pricing, and even gave me an example timeline for the amount of people I was planning to get ready with. She also connected me with a hair stylist who is wonderfully talented at working with naturally curly hair. Liz took the time to get to know me over the year and would remember small details that most people forget, like my dog's name or a show my Autistic sister likes to watch. She is a big proponent of building and maintaining meaningful connections with others––and her makeup is a lovely reflection of this intention. For my wedding, she created a beautiful makeup look that felt lightweight on my skin but still glamorous, taking the details from our makeup trials that felt right and adding her own unique twist. Before starting that day, she said, "I have something in mind that I feel is very you. Do you trust me?" When I looked in the mirror afterward, I saw a reflection of myself that only Liz could enhance. I felt very "me," comfortable in my own skin and (as a person with anxiety) not nervous in the slightest to show my face. Liz, Lyndsay (hair stylist), and Marie (hair/makeup) did a wonderful job at making my bridesmaids and family members look and feel their best while also capturing their inner beauty. While my primarily Latina group can be notorious for being particular, they absolutely loved their hair and makeup. Dark Hearts Artistry was gracious with everyone and put us all in a wonderful, spirited mood!

Liz was AMAZING! She is very communicative and quick to respond to text, calls, and emails! All of my bridesmaids looked so good and loved their time getting to hang/chat with Liz while getting their makeup done. Liz took inspiration from my dress and gave me the most perfect makeup that matched the vibe of my dress/wedding I could have ever imagined! I never do my makeup on a daily basis and she made me look so beautiful (I am still getting compliments!). She had so many options, gave perfect suggestions, and our makeup lasted all day (even through all the happy tears). Liz is the coolest person every and you should not hesitate to hire her for your next event!

Liz is phenomenal! I’m not a girlie girl so she gave me plenty of skin care tips during our bridal trial. I had one small request after the trial on something I wanted changed and she remembered to do that for the wedding. I looked like an absolute PRINCESS day of! And she slayed all my bridesmaids that hired her (plus squeezed in an extra who hadn’t originally requested her services!). And did I mention her pricing was great in comparison to everything else I saw? And as a black woman, I love her focus on being able to work with diverse clientele. I could go on and on but point is, hire her!

I cannot recommend Liz strongly enough! From my trial run with her a few months prior to my wedding to the day-of makeup, she was absolutely flawless! I loved how even with my pops of red and bright pink lipstick to match my colorful Indian wedding attire, she was able to make my make-up look natural, and made me still feel like myself on my wedding day- which I think is difficult to do sometimes with wedding makeup! I have bridesmaids from a lot of different cultural backgrounds, and she was able to do stunning make-up for each and every one of them. She is very responsive with her busy schedule. I really appreciate that she took the time to think of me and send me lipstick colors that she thought I would like prior to my wedding day to mull over. I slacked on finding a hair stylist, and she very quickly put me in contact with many of her friends who are hair stylists. Because of her, I had my dream make-up and hair for my wedding day! She made getting ready such a fun atmosphere even though it was VERY early in the morning. And we had a blast again for my reception makeup! You're the best, Liz ❤

I could talk for like 3 days about how wonderful Liz is. She is not only a ridiculously talented make up artist she's just a kind and wonderful person. She saved the day when my first wedding mua bailed and I'm actually glad they did because Liz was a total dream! All my bridesmaids and my Mom have raved about her since my wedding in October. She can listen to you vaguely describe what you want and BOOM she's captured what you were attempting to describe but even better than you pictured. She is so friendly and really puts you at ease on a pretty stressful day. I wish I had an excuse to have her do my make up again! Thanks for making my glam elf look happen Liz you rule!

I cannot say enough great things about working with Liz! I had an unfortunate situation happen where my original plan for makeup fell through last minute, Liz SAVED THE DAY by offering to work me into her schedule so that I didn’t have to do my own makeup for my wedding (which would have been a disaster lol!). She was also able to schedule me for a last minute practice session a few days before. I was beyond relieved and so appreciative of her accommodating me!

She did an AMAZING job, my makeup was very natural and gave me a beautiful glow. I was impressed by Liz’s efficiency the morning of and that my makeup truly lasted all day!

Liz is not only talented but also a very nice person to work with. If I could do it again, I would have booked with her from the beginning for my whole bridal party. I cannot recommend Dark Hearts Artistry enough!!
