We worked with Kate from Cygnet Events for our wedding this past fall, and she was incredible from start to finish.

Our wedding wasn’t a simple setup either: it was a tented backyard wedding for ~180 people in a fairly remote area, which meant a lot more vendor coordination than a typical pre-packaged venue. Kate handled all of that seamlessly and made everything feel easy. She connected us with amazing vendors who were not only talented but genuinely good people, and she handled all the moving parts behind the scenes so we never felt stressed or overwhelmed. She was thoughtful, flexible, and patient with all of our ideas (and a few quirky requests such as our dog pulling a wagon down the aisle). She consistently went above and beyond by traveling repeatedly, hopping on calls whenever needed, and keeping everything on track while also always being conscious of our budget and advocating + negotiating on our behalf.

On the actual wedding day, she solved problems quietly, anticipated things before we even thought of them, and made our families feel at ease. The venue looked even better than we could have imagined, while still honoring the land and space that is so meaningful to both of us. The timeline also flowed seamlessly despite 1 or 2 surprises, and we were free to just be present for the whole day, which is ultimately the greatest gift a planner can give.

We’re so grateful for the care, thought, and heart she put into the entire process. Working with Kate was hands-down the best decision we made in the planning process. If you’re looking for someone who’s equal parts professional, calm, creative, and genuinely fun to work with, we can’t recommend her enough.

Our daughter Rebecca married Jack in Chicago the end of August 2025. Rebecca lives in Chicago and we live in Denver. Helping plan Rebecca’s wedding long distance would be a challenge for me, her mother. For Rebecca, planning all the details of her own wedding while working full time would be a challenge for her.

A year before the wedding we employed the services of Kate from Cygnet Events and Design. Best move ever! We chose Cygnet’s partial wedding planning package.

First words I think of to describe Kate: kind, calm, detailed, organized. Rebecca’s wedding was not Kate’s first rodeo. Relying on Kate’s expertise gave us substantial peace of mind throughout the months of planning. During the joy filled wedding day, Kate had it all under control and we were free to enjoy.

One of our initial meetings (over the phone) was the budget meeting. For me it felt like drinking out of a fire hose. Kate asked Rebecca detailed questions in quick succession. Looking back, this meeting was foundational. It helped Kate understand what kind of wedding Rebecca was envisioning. It gave us all a clear framework for financial wishes and expectations in each category.

Kate always responded quickly via email when we had questions. The months passed. Soon it was two months before the wedding when Kate’s role became more intense and involved. Kate managed all interactions with the vendors. Whew, what a relief. Rebecca and Jack’s ceremony was at Jack’s church in the suburbs. The reception was at the Chicago History Museum. Several weeks before the big day, Kate gave everyone a typed schedule with minute by minute details. Who should be where, and when. What they should be doing, etc.

Kate was not only Rebecca’s wedding planner and day of extraordinaire. She became a family friend. Her warmth and professionalism made the stressful moments not so stressful. She was constantly behind the scenes, making it all work and come together magically. The money we spent with Cygnet was money very well spent. We are indebted to Cygnet Events and Design for Rebecca and Jack’s seamless and beautiful wedding day.

Working with Kate/Cygnet as our month-of wedding coordinator was hands down one of the best decisions we made. From the moment she stepped in, she was absolutely CLUTCH; not only during the month leading up to the wedding but especially on the day itself. She kept everything organized, smoothed out all the little bumps before they even reached us, and gave us the peace of mind to actually enjoy the day instead of worrying about logistics.

My now-husband wasn’t even sure what coordinators did at first, but once we got on the phone with Kate and she built our entire timeline in front of us, he instantly understood the value she brought to the table and how much we would've stressed without her lol. That was the moment we knew we were in the best hands.

Kate has this perfect mix of calm professionalism and get-it-done energy that makes her feel both critical and irreplaceable. Our guests kept commenting on how seamless everything felt, and that’s entirely thanks to her. We truly couldn’t recommend her enough. If you’re on the fence about a coordinator, don’t be. Having Kate in our corner was game-changing, and we’re so grateful for her role in making our wedding exactly what we hoped it would be.

I cannot even begin to say how perfect Kate. I am truly convinced she is THE BEST in the business. We did full planning with her and IT IS WORTH IT! Kate gave us vendors that were perfect and created our perfect wedding weekend. Every single aspect of our wedding was perfect and we have Kate to thank for it. There is nothing that we would have changed! We were able to enjoy our wedding because we didn't need to worry about a thing except for having fun! Kate managed everything and was so supportive. Our wedding was a fairytale and we couldn't be more thankful to Kate for this.

Hiring Cygnet Events and Design for a partial planning package was the best money we spent throughout the entire wedding planning process! We worked with Stephanie, who is incredibly experienced, competent, and professional! She walked us through everything, made our vision come to life, and handled everything for us the month leading up to the wedding. We didn't have to worry about a single thing on our wedding day, which was incredible and allowed us to enjoy the party with all our friends and family! I can't say enough good things - hire them!

Stephanie from Cygnet Events was the consummate professional as she `coordinated my son's wedding. She is/was the most organized person I have ever met in my life and that along with her personality, knowledge, and communication skills made the event perfect. I honestly could not recommend someone more than I could her. She made things happen and they happened perfectly. No need to ever look further.

I cannot begin to say enough wonderful things about Cygnet Events and Kate Reavey. However, I will give it my best shot.

Kate's attention to detail, her professionalism, and her overall kind approach to all ideas and feelings are the reason our wedding happened and lead to numerous glowing reviews from our guests. Truly - every moment of our wedding received a compliment. Her work was so impressive and noticed.

She understood when I didn't want to pick just one color palate. She understood when I wanted our guests to have the tone set when they stepped into the room. She understood when I couldn't stare at a charger for 1 more minute. Also, and most importantly, she took the time to listen to me and understood what I was really loving and what I wasn't.

Through every moment of the wedding planning process, she met us with ideas and solutions. She brought our wedding to life through bright colors, an eclectic palate, fabulous rentals, and embraced my need for nothing matching.

We had the most incredible experience with Cygent Events! I was very on the fence on if I wanted to hire a day of coordinator because my wedding was all in one location. While we can’t necessarily compare Kate and the Cygnet team to other vendors in the planning space, I’d find it nearly impossible to believe there’s anyone else out there that does this better. We worked with Kate on a “full plan” basis and can’t say enough about how great she was to work with and how amazing the final product was. Kate was responsive, kind, thoughtful, articulate, and an overall amazing partner to work with. She guided us through every major decision and provided just the right level of guidance to give us space to make decisions but with a level of confidence that we were making the right ones. She was always on top of things, staying in touch with us on a regular cadence when things were slow and then providing us a detailed timeline of everything to do once we got closer to the big day. The months leading up to the wedding day felt easy and stress-free thanks to Kate.

On the day of the wedding, she handled everything so well that we had nothing to worry about, and everyone on-site with us was shocked at how “chill” the hours leading up to the ceremony were. As far as the day itself, everything came together perfectly across all our vendors: design, catering, floral, photography, rentals, DJ, etc. all thanks to Kate! She handled all communication with vendors during both planning and day of, so we were able to feel like guests at our own wedding instead of checking our phones and emails all day. Looking back just a few weeks later, there is absolutely nothing we would have changed, and we owe it all to Kate and Cygnet.

I can’t stress enough how instrumental they were in giving us a perfect wedding - and would encourage anyone that’s on the fence about having a planner to have one conversation with Kate to be convinced it is 100% worth it.
