We worked with Kate from Cygnet Events for our wedding this past fall, and she was incredible from start to finish.

Our wedding wasn’t a simple setup either: it was a tented backyard wedding for ~180 people in a fairly remote area, which meant a lot more vendor coordination than a typical pre-packaged venue. Kate handled all of that seamlessly and made everything feel easy. She connected us with amazing vendors who were not only talented but genuinely good people, and she handled all the moving parts behind the scenes so we never felt stressed or overwhelmed. She was thoughtful, flexible, and patient with all of our ideas (and a few quirky requests such as our dog pulling a wagon down the aisle). She consistently went above and beyond by traveling repeatedly, hopping on calls whenever needed, and keeping everything on track while also always being conscious of our budget and advocating + negotiating on our behalf.

On the actual wedding day, she solved problems quietly, anticipated things before we even thought of them, and made our families feel at ease. The venue looked even better than we could have imagined, while still honoring the land and space that is so meaningful to both of us. The timeline also flowed seamlessly despite 1 or 2 surprises, and we were free to just be present for the whole day, which is ultimately the greatest gift a planner can give.

We’re so grateful for the care, thought, and heart she put into the entire process. Working with Kate was hands-down the best decision we made in the planning process. If you’re looking for someone who’s equal parts professional, calm, creative, and genuinely fun to work with, we can’t recommend her enough.

Our daughter Rebecca married Jack in Chicago the end of August 2025. Rebecca lives in Chicago and we live in Denver. Helping plan Rebecca’s wedding long distance would be a challenge for me, her mother. For Rebecca, planning all the details of her own wedding while working full time would be a challenge for her.

A year before the wedding we employed the services of Kate from Cygnet Events and Design. Best move ever! We chose Cygnet’s partial wedding planning package.

First words I think of to describe Kate: kind, calm, detailed, organized. Rebecca’s wedding was not Kate’s first rodeo. Relying on Kate’s expertise gave us substantial peace of mind throughout the months of planning. During the joy filled wedding day, Kate had it all under control and we were free to enjoy.

One of our initial meetings (over the phone) was the budget meeting. For me it felt like drinking out of a fire hose. Kate asked Rebecca detailed questions in quick succession. Looking back, this meeting was foundational. It helped Kate understand what kind of wedding Rebecca was envisioning. It gave us all a clear framework for financial wishes and expectations in each category.

Kate always responded quickly via email when we had questions. The months passed. Soon it was two months before the wedding when Kate’s role became more intense and involved. Kate managed all interactions with the vendors. Whew, what a relief. Rebecca and Jack’s ceremony was at Jack’s church in the suburbs. The reception was at the Chicago History Museum. Several weeks before the big day, Kate gave everyone a typed schedule with minute by minute details. Who should be where, and when. What they should be doing, etc.

Kate was not only Rebecca’s wedding planner and day of extraordinaire. She became a family friend. Her warmth and professionalism made the stressful moments not so stressful. She was constantly behind the scenes, making it all work and come together magically. The money we spent with Cygnet was money very well spent. We are indebted to Cygnet Events and Design for Rebecca and Jack’s seamless and beautiful wedding day.

Working with Kate/Cygnet as our month-of wedding coordinator was hands down one of the best decisions we made. From the moment she stepped in, she was absolutely CLUTCH; not only during the month leading up to the wedding but especially on the day itself. She kept everything organized, smoothed out all the little bumps before they even reached us, and gave us the peace of mind to actually enjoy the day instead of worrying about logistics.

My now-husband wasn’t even sure what coordinators did at first, but once we got on the phone with Kate and she built our entire timeline in front of us, he instantly understood the value she brought to the table and how much we would've stressed without her lol. That was the moment we knew we were in the best hands.

Kate has this perfect mix of calm professionalism and get-it-done energy that makes her feel both critical and irreplaceable. Our guests kept commenting on how seamless everything felt, and that’s entirely thanks to her. We truly couldn’t recommend her enough. If you’re on the fence about a coordinator, don’t be. Having Kate in our corner was game-changing, and we’re so grateful for her role in making our wedding exactly what we hoped it would be.
