We started working with Jane only ~5 months out from our logistically complex, 180-person wedding after parting ways with a prior planner and she swooped in and pulled together an unbelievably beautiful wedding that completely exceeded our expectations. I had a million loose and sometimes contradictory ideas on design for the reception that I couldn't square in my head, but Jane immediately understood what I was envisioning, created a beautiful design, and then went above and beyond to execute it on very short timelines.
Throughout the process, she was super responsive, super helpful, and a lot of fun to work with. Not only did she make our wedding gorgeous and smooth, but she and her team kept me stress-free in the final days leading up to the wedding and throughout the weekend so I could be in the moment and focus on having fun with my family and friends. From the very beginning, it was very obvious that Kaitlin is passionate about her job. Throughout the entire planning process, she was extremely organized, responsive, and professional (not to mention she is an all around lovely human with a calming presence!). Where do I even begin?! Kaitlin was my planner before I even knew my husband. She was the planner for my sisters wedding in 2018 and I knew without a doubt that I had to have her. Kaitlin is trustworthy, creative and beyond on top of it. I had zero doubt in my mind that any opinion or decision I asked her input on was genuine and honest for what my vision was. Not only was my venue located in a destination island, the reception venue I chose isn’t normally made for weddings which made me even more sure of my need and trust in Kaitlin being the only person for the job. Her eye for details and gorgeous ideas provided me with endless confidence that the day was going to be nothing short of perfect (which it was!). No matter the wild details I would think of (why not add custom playing cards?!) or finding vendors in our destination- Kaitlin was on top of it in finding the best of the best within our means. She went above and beyond to make sure we had every aspect possible of my vision was handled and kept me on time with every vendors needs. Day of the wedding- even week off- was nothing but a DREAM knowing her and Jane had everything under control. Our wedding day even threw an unexpected beach rain (with every aspect of the day being outside) and everyone still talks about how they would have never known there was a hiccup in the plan. I bugged Kaitlin with every indecisive decision I couldn’t make and at every hour of the day and I felt as if I was her only client with how on top of it she was (when I know for a fact she had post Covid wedding craziness to deal with!) I have no doubt in my mind that my wedding would not of been close to the day I dreamed of without Kaitlin. I could go on and on for reasons why and will tell anyone that will listen that they need her by their side when planning their wedding! My family and I will never stop talking about how much we loved Kaitlin and Cheers Darling Events!! From our first phone call I instantly felt like Kaitlin understood and could verbalize my vision, and had the exact personality I was looking for - straightforward and coolheaded, but also creative and fun.

Kaitlin went on to make both the year ahead of the wedding and the wedding weekend itself as stress free as weddings can be. Her tools for managing budget, tasks, guest lists, etc. kept my (now) husband and I feeling totally on top of things throughout the process. Her attention to detail is unmatched, and she never once dropped a single task, meeting, or little design detail. Kaitlin’s creativity and eye for design was also impeccable. I knew I could trust her advice as we went into discussions with the florists, did our rentals, etc. There were many things I had strong opinions on throughout the process, but anything I wasn’t sure on I just deferred to Kaitlin’s judgement knowing she would make the right call- she always did!

On the weekend of the wedding, if anything did go wrong I would have absolutely no idea because Kaitlin handled everything with grace and a total sense of calm. Her assistants were also fantastic and brought a great energy to the bridal suite and pictures while Kaitlin was busy ensuring every single detail at the venue was perfectly executed.

Lastly, one of the many benefits of working with Kaitlin was the great connections she has around DC. I found my photographer and florist through her, and they were both so incredible I can’t imagine using anyone else. My wedding was not in DC but she even had contacts in Philly for my vendors there like HMU, which helped me feel safe with who I was choosing knowing that she had worked with them before and trusted them.

While I certainly hope I never have another wedding, I must say I’m sad that this is the only chance I’ll have to work with Kaitlin. :) Highly highly recommend!!

Where do I begin? Mike and I were engaged in April 2021, still in the height of Covid-weddings. We wanted our wedding to be authentically ‘us,’ and were willing to wait until 2022 for that special day. We began planning immediately and quickly realized that with the demands of our jobs, we needed a partner to help execute our vision. I interviewed over TEN Wedding Planners in the DC area and loved every one of them; but Kaitlin stood out to me because of her creativity, vision, and genuine desire to ‘do more’ to ensure we had the wedding of our dreams. No idea that I envisioned was too big, and that made me feel like she was ‘the one.’ Kaitlin quickly became the ‘Wedding-Planning Bestie’ that I didn’t know I needed. She was quick to respond to my many modes of communication: Instagram DM’s, Text Messages, Phone Calls, and Google Hangouts, she was always there with an answer for me. She kept our dream at the forefront of the planning process and helped us to achieve everything we wanted within budget. Kaitlin made wedding planning fun! She helped us to make our wedding personal and found ways to accommodate our requests even when the task seemed impossible. Anytime I had a new outside-of-the-box idea, she shared in excitement and always knew a vendor that could execute exactly what I wanted, which is a true testament to her relationships within the wedding industry. On our wedding day, Kaitlin gave me peace of mind and made sure I could enjoy every moment. Her timeline for the day was flawless, the Cheers Darling Team was supportive, and they made the day seem effortless. They always say ‘expect something to go wrong’ and truthfully, nothing did. We look back on our day with the fondest memories of each moment because we were able to focus purely on each other, and that’s what marrying your best friend is all about. Every single wedding vendor I spoke to — and it was A LOT due to many switch ups for my Covid postpone wedding — absolutely raved about Kaitlin. Her reputation is stellar.

She is so unflappable, non-judgmental, and just generally a helpful person. I also don’t think I know of another planner in DC who has built a successful business from such a young age, making her extremely experienced despite being younger compared to other planners. Truly impressive.

And she seems to have found her calling … her taste and range is incredible! She helped me plan (and re-plan) a destination micro wedding in the winter AND a DC early fall/late summer wedding. And when I say “re-plan,” I mean, we completely re-did almost all of the design elements of my DC wedding when we moved it outside six weeks out due to the Delta variant. New linens, new rentals, new flowers, etc., etc. We also got a new band since our original one wasn’t fully vaccinated and a new photographer since our first one had a baby. And Kaitlin was nothing but helpful!

Some couples have a wedding day - my husband and I had a wedding year, thanks to the disruptions of the pandemic. With our wedding scheduled for fall of 2020, we had to quickly come up with a "plan B." We ended up with a perfectly executed backyard wedding, with most of our friends and family watching on Zoom, followed a year later by a larger in-person wedding celebration that didn't try to recreate a moment, but added to it.
