About

I feel strongly that committed, loving couples deserve an equally committed and quality clergyperson to sanctify their love. I specialize in helping interfaith and Jewish couples craft wedding ceremonies that reflect the home they will build together. I offer, and encourage, couples to meet with me several times before the wedding for conversation about their ceremony and planning challenges. These conversations are intended to help couples build a foundation and a trust from which to draw throughout their lives together.

  • I recommend pre-marital counseling for couples I’m marrying but I don’t require it
  • I do not officiate weddings on Shabbat (although I am willing to nudge sunset times up earlier on Saturday nights)
  • I don't co-officiate with a clergyperson from another faith. I am happy to discuss including secularized traditions from other cultures, but I only use God-neutral language, and will include biblical material only from the Hebrew bible that has meaning for all parties.

Wonderful and Talented Officiant

Ayelet was one of the highlights of our wedding planning and day-of experience. She spent so much time getting to know us and helping us with our marriage journey. As a gay interfaith couple, we felt very comfortable discussing whatever was on our mind with her – that was very meaningful to us. She is an extremely talented guitarist and singer, and guests were remarking on how amazing her performance was. She was also able to explain portions of the ceremony in Spanish, which was so helpful for many of our guests. We cannot recommend her enough!

Incredible officiant for our Jewish wedding

Cantor Ayelet officiated our wedding in June 2023 and we could not have been happier. We had several in-person meetings with Ayelet in the months before our wedding and found Ayelet to be incredibly warm, kind, genuine, and good humored. She was open to discussing any concerns or questions we had (whether on logistics for the wedding or more broadly on Judaism, marriage and family). She also helped guide us through the process of selecting a Ketubah, figuring out how to approach various aspects of wedding and engagement traditions, and simply learning more about creating a Jewish life and home. Together with Ayelet, we were able to craft a ceremony that was meaningful to us, while also including certain modern touches - and at all times, we felt that Ayelet was open and receptive to adjustments or modifications, offering us suggestions and alternatives in order to help us make the wedding what we wanted it to be. Ayelet also has one of the most beautiful voices ever - our guests are still remarking about how amazing and uplifting she sounded chanting the seven blessings during our ceremony (we watch our wedding video over and over again and are truly in awe by her). She is a wonderful, calming person and her warmth emanates in any space. We are beyond grateful that Cantor Ayelet officiated our wedding !

Kindness, Wisdom, and Guidance

Cantor Ayelet is so wonderful, I can't even find the words to express how incredible she was in helping us craft our wedding ceremony. She worked with us to create an interfaith ceremony that beautifully honored the values and traditions we wanted to emphasize in our Jewish/Catholic ceremony. She also helped us talk through embarking on an interfaith life together, and some of the complexities that entails. She was patient, kind, empathetic, and a true guide on our path to married life! When she officiated our wedding, she provided the perfect mix of comfort, levity, and spirituality. She is the best!

Ayelet is kind, thoughtful, experienced and wholly present

Ayelet was the officiant for our wedding during the pandemic and an incredibly difficult time for our family. Ayelet met with us over Zoom every week and brought a joy and lightness to our calls that we often sorely needed. She also supported us in making difficult decisions and in advocating for ourselves. Dayenu. She also helped me plan a surprise song in my vows. I wrote it and she accompanies on guitar while I sang and two of my girlfriends snuck up to sing harmonies. She also calmed our nerves. She also brings incredible warmth to every interaction. Thank you for your guidance with our Ketubah and our beautiful ceremony as well as your wisdom and kindness throughout our planning process and always, Ayelet.

Ayelet is amazing!

My partner and I were looking for an officiant for our wedding who would be open to a marriage that merged my (conservative/reform) practice of Judaism and my partner's Korean (non-Jewish) heritage. From our first conversation with Ayelet, we knew that she would be an excellent fit. She not only kindly welcomed but also strongly supported us, as individuals and as a unit. She generously educated us about Jewish customs, expertly facilitated challenging conversations about our future together, and was consistently responsive and understanding in the face of a difficult logistical situation: planning a wedding in upstate New York while living in London during the lockdown period of the pandemic. She did a fantastic job during the special day itself (despite only meeting us in person for the first time that morning!), received our praise as well as that of our families and friends, and has kept in touch with us as we've begun navigating the next stage of our journey as husband and wife. We're grateful to have met Ayelet and look forward to having her as an ongoing advisor throughout our lives.

Happiness all around

My wife and I found her because she's the cantor at my family's synagogue...as it happens. Having witnessed her in action, so to speak, for services, we both felt it was the best move when it came time to decide on our officiant. We couldn't be happier with the quality and care she put into presiding over our wedding. Plus, she's just a down-right nice person...which always helps.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
