My life in flowers started at only fifteen years old when I got my first job in the local flower shop. From that point on there was rarely a time when I wasn’t working with flowers. I even chose to go to college at UC San Diego partly because there was a flower shop on campus! A true artist at heart, I graduated from UCSD with a B.A. in Theatre and Dance. My life on the stage only encouraged me to become even more creative with my floral art. Today, I continue pursue artistic expression in every form.
While working over twelve years in the floral industry, I cultivated a personal design style that is a mixed of contemporary American and classic European floral design. I established my first floral company, Flowers by Atalanta, in 2003 in San Diego. Since then, I have created beautiful wedding flowers for hundreds of brides. I moved my business to the Bay Area in 2006 and had my first daughter. She has motivated me more than ever to be creative and always keeps me on my toes!
I opened Camellia Flowers and Gifts in Ocean Beach in January of 2011. I am so excited to have a quaint little shop where brides and grooms can come view our portfolios and chat about how Camellia Weddings can make their special day unforgettable with beautiful flowers and decor. At Camellia, our motto is "attention to detail" because we believe that the smallest and most personal details of a wedding are the most memorable to the bride and groom, as well as the guests. I absolutely love her professionalism, creativity, kindness, and upbeat personality! She was patient, reliable, consistently positive and optimistic. She listens to your wedding floral wishes and executes with great care to details.
She’s is very knowledgeable about all things flowers! She’s simply wonderful and exactly what an anxious bride like myself needed!
I made a few changes along the way due to my husband’s wedding party having a major change in their tux color six weeks out from the wedding! I was very discouraged because I had an idea set in my mind! Atalanta did not fret. She sent over new floral ideas promptly for the adjustments!
Seeing my ceremony and reception floral arrangements gave me butterflies! I could not believe my eyes because of what absolutely beautiful works of art Atalanta had created! It was a floral layout fit for royalty.
I am extremely blessed to have found Camellia Wedding Flowers! She will always hold a special place in my heart for her role in the most spectacular day of my life!

Wonderful Florist!
We LOVED our flowers!! Atalanta was so easy to work with and very affordable! She was also very flexible when we had some late changes in our final numbers. We went with a tropical vibe and she nailed it! I loved my bouquet so much, I decided the next day I had to get it preserved (not in the original plans!). We heard so many compliments about the floral arrangements and they were truly beautiful. She had some great recommendations and was very open to creative ideas, like we did pocket boutonnières instead of standard ones. We were recommended to Atalanta by a friend who recently got married, and I would recommend her to anyone! She can go as big or small as you're looking for.

I really love and I am a fan of Atalanta's work! She combines an exquisite artistic taste for every detail with all the practical skills and knowledge of how to handle intricate floral aspects, and so professional always! Stunning wedding florist in san diego!
If you are looking for the PERFECT florist to assist your every possible wedding floral need and to fulfill your every possible floral wedding dream, look no further!! I cannot say enough amazing things about Atalanta, the owner of Camellia's Wedding Flowers (named after her beautiful daughter--sigh!!) From wedding arches, to high top and welcome table arrangements to the dining tables to the cake table. She did it ALL!!! We are from the Bay Area and had read many reviews of the best wedding florists in the San Diego area. We were steered in Aty's direction by many and we reached out in early January to begin the planning process. Atalanta was so easy and FUN to work with!!! She immediately navigated us through a virtual program on line to determine what our style was and what we were looking for on our special day. She put together an AMAZING inspiration board for us to have and adapt as necessary. The communication over the year was smooth and timely. And let me tell you, the day of the wedding, she ABSOLUTELY BLEW OUR MINDS!!! The wedding bouquets were out of this world GORGEOUS!! Our wedding was at the Martin Johnson House, an outside and cliff side venue in La Jolla. Our vision was connected farm tables with tons of candles, votives, and bright bursting flowers and greenery down the middle. The end product was more than we can have ever imagined or dreamt of!!! Atalanta elevated our dreams to whole another level and I'm still reeling about how incredibly STUNNING every thing looked. She is soooo good at what she does and I HIGHLY recommend this fabulous woman to assist you in making your wedding day dreams come true!! We will be forever grateful to her for creating this lasting memory on our special day.

Atalanta is amazing!! She did such an amazing job from the day I met her up until the day of the wedding. She was the first vendor I hired before over a year of planning. She instantly put me at ease with the planning process by bringing all my ideas to life through her inspiration boards. Atalanta listened to what I wanted and was creative to make everything come together. She always touched base over the phone when changes were made and she was very organized through the planning. The flower arrangements turned out beautifully!!! She did long garland for our long farm tables and all my decorating dreams came true. Atalanta is so talented! I would definitely recommend her for your wedding flowers!

Atalanta was a delight to work with. She really listened and paid attention to what my husband and I were looking for in wedding flowers - we wanted all flowers and no greenery and that's exactly what she gave us. After our very first meeting, she sent us a quote of how much our floral needs would cost, AND she made us an inspiration board with floral ideas that would fit our wedding - talk about going above and beyond! She has mastered the balancing act of giving her clients her professional opinion while giving her clients what they're looking for. Camellia Wedding Flowers and team arrived on time to drop off bouquets and corsages to my hotel, they were also on top of moving our flowers from the ceremony to our reception venue. Hiring Atalanta was honestly the easiest vendor decision we made, we were so happy that we trusted her with our flowers! Thanks so much, Atalanta!!

We had such a positive experience working with Atalanta at Camellia Wedding Flowers for our wedding in May. She is so pleasant, professional, and extremely talented. She used all of my favorite flowers and truly made my vision come to life, all while staying within budget. The bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres were so well-made and held up well throughout the entire night (and then some!) I highly recommend Camellia Wedding Flowers!

I can’t express how much I absolutely loved all my wedding flowers. I was overwhelmed with how magical the flowers looked. I wanted a combination of roses and orchids to match my wedding colors of teal and purple. Atalanta was so great to work with and she listened to exactly how I wanted my flowers to look. She made an inspiration board and even worked with me to do a mock centerpiece to ensure that we were both on the same page. She truly loves what she does and it definitely shows.
My arch and petal aisle were breath taking and my centerpieces were perfect. Our bouquets were amazing. All the flowers were fresh and beautifully arranged. Our sweetheart table was repurposed with our arch flowers and looked stunning. She decorated our tablets with lovely teal votives and candles which went perfectly with the flowers. Atalanta also added orchids to my wedding cake.
Everyone kept complimenting the flowers and were excited to take the centerpieces home. In fact, at the end of the night, one of the servers at our venue, told me that she works lots of weddings and hands down my flowers were the most beautiful she had ever seen. I can’t thank Atalanta enough for making my flowers such a memorable part of my wedding day.

Wow! I cannot say enough greats things about Atalanta and her work. I was planning my wedding from the Bay area, but from the beginning, she has been more than accommodating to my schedule and helpful in creating a stunning vision for my wedding. I knew from our first conversation on the phone that she had to be my florist. What made her stand out from the rest was how she created an inspiration board after our first talk to ensure that we shared the same vision. She was always incredibly responsive to any questions and concerns and I knew I was in great hands. Sure enough, on my wedding day, I was absolutely blown away by my floral arrangements!
