Katie at Beauty and the Beach was amazing!!! She is such a joyful person... such a calming presence on the big day. She did a great job tailoring the makeup and hairstyle to my vision and I was even happier on my wedding day with the makeup than I had been at the trial run... and that is saying a lot.

Katie is absolutely incredible. I wanted to look myself, but have a natural glam and glow for my wedding day— not over doing it. She absolutely achieved my vision. She was so great for my trial, and we tried several different hair looks and then she did my makeup. Wedding day we had just a few tweaks from the trial to make it perfect.
My mom, grandma, aunt, and 3 bridesmaids loved her as well— they all got the glam they wanted!

I cannot recommend Katie (Beauty and the Beach OC) enough! As a very laid-back, beachy bride who rarely wears makeup, I had a hard time finding someone who wouldn't push me into full glam. After talking to so many artists and feeling a little defeated, finding Katie was such a breath of fresh air. She instantly understood that I wanted to feel special but still look like myself, just a more special and elevated version for my wedding day, and she completely nailed it.

From the start, she made everything fun and easy. At my trial, I left feeling gorgeous and comfortable, like I'd just been hanging out with a friend. I even ended up booking a makeup lesson with her afterwards to learn how to do a more everyday and elevated look for my bridal showers and other pre-wedding events (which I highly recommend doing as well! I learned so much using the makeup I had and a few suggested products.)

On the wedding morning, Katie was the perfect mix of professional and relaxed -- on time, but with such a calming presence that made the whole experience stress-free. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and that I was feeling good. My hair and makeup didn't budge all day. They survived happy tears, hours of dancing, and even a late-night run with friends to the nearest bar -- and still looked fresh, effortless and natural, without ever feeling heavy or cakey.

Throughout the whole process, Katie made me feel like the very best version of myself. I got so many compliments, and I couldn't stop smiling all day. She's talented, kind, and genuinely cares about her clients. I'm honestly a little sad I don't have another excuse to get done up and hang out with her again soon! On top of that, her pricing was incredibly reasonable for the amazing job she did on both my hair and makeup, as well as my mom's.

Katie and Mariah did an amazing job doing both the hair and make-up for me (the bride) and my 3 bridesmaids. I love the look they were able to achieve on each of us bringing our natural beauty out without it feeling caked on. I do not wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis so they helped achieve that "natural" makeup look perfectly for me. They both brought such a calming, optimistic vibe to getting ready. Katie also made sure to secure my heavy cathedral length veil and ease my nerves about it falling off- it stayed on and didn't move until I took it off at the reception. I did my hair and makeup trial with Katie and she is so easy to work with. She lets you knows she's very open to critiques since what's most important is me being happy on the day- no critiques were needed since she was able to achieve the vision I wanted from the start. At the trial I was venting to Katie about the hiccups I was experiencing while planning the wedding, specifically not solidifying a place to get ready and without hesitation offered her studio up to us as an option if we needed it, without any extra cost. Thankfully we figured things out elsewhere, but it was a huge relief having that back-up option. Both Katie and Mariah were so sweet and professional. They were on time and ready to go the entire time getting ready. I am beyond happy with the end results of working with them! Hire them!!! They are the best, I cannot thank them enough.

Katie and her team did an amazing job on my bridal hair and makeup as well as my mom and bridal party. I really wanted a natural and romantic look for our wedding. I met with Katie for my bridal trial and she captured my vision. Katie even changed up my look so I could take my engagement photos after the trial. Book Katie for your wedding now! You will not regret it. But try to book her a year in advance because her and her team get booked up quickly!! Katie and her assistant made me look and feel so beautiful on my wedding day! I also pampered my bridesmaids and my mom with makeup and hair styling and they absolutely loved it. It was definitely one of our favorite parts of the day!! Katie is so talented. She knows exactly what kind of makeup and hair to do to bring out the natural beauty in her brides and bridesmaids. She arrived to my mom's house on time and went straight to work. She was communicative throughout the entire process. I also completed a hair and makeup trial with her and she was so patient with me. She did three different types of hair and different makeup because I was so unsure about the look that I wanted. All of the hair styles looked so great, it made it hard to choose. She took a ton of photos of me during the makeup trial so I had the opportunity to look back at them and make a final decision in my own time. I am so glad that I hired Katie and her team, I felt like a princess and looked like one too!
