A wonderful experience!

Katie at Beauty and the Beach was amazing!!! She is such a joyful person... such a calming presence on the big day. She did a great job tailoring the makeup and hairstyle to my vision and I was even happier on my wedding day with the makeup than I had been at the trial run... and that is saying a lot.
Would definitely work with Katie again if I could!!

Katie is Amazing

Katie is absolutely incredible. I wanted to look myself, but have a natural glam and glow for my wedding day— not over doing it. She absolutely achieved my vision. She was so great for my trial, and we tried several different hair looks and then she did my makeup. Wedding day we had just a few tweaks from the trial to make it perfect.
My mom, grandma, aunt, and 3 bridesmaids loved her as well— they all got the glam they wanted!

Best decision ever! Book her!!

I cannot recommend Katie (Beauty and the Beach OC) enough! As a very laid-back, beachy bride who rarely wears makeup, I had a hard time finding someone who wouldn't push me into full glam. After talking to so many artists and feeling a little defeated, finding Katie was such a breath of fresh air. She instantly understood that I wanted to feel special but still look like myself, just a more special and elevated version for my wedding day, and she completely nailed it.

From the start, she made everything fun and easy. At my trial, I left feeling gorgeous and comfortable, like I'd just been hanging out with a friend. I even ended up booking a makeup lesson with her afterwards to learn how to do a more everyday and elevated look for my bridal showers and other pre-wedding events (which I highly recommend doing as well! I learned so much using the makeup I had and a few suggested products.)

On the wedding morning, Katie was the perfect mix of professional and relaxed -- on time, but with such a calming presence that made the whole experience stress-free. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and that I was feeling good. My hair and makeup didn't budge all day. They survived happy tears, hours of dancing, and even a late-night run with friends to the nearest bar -- and still looked fresh, effortless and natural, without ever feeling heavy or cakey.

Throughout the whole process, Katie made me feel like the very best version of myself. I got so many compliments, and I couldn't stop smiling all day. She's talented, kind, and genuinely cares about her clients. I'm honestly a little sad I don't have another excuse to get done up and hang out with her again soon! On top of that, her pricing was incredibly reasonable for the amazing job she did on both my hair and makeup, as well as my mom's.

Katie is truly incredible -- you'll be so glad you booked her!

The team I needed, the best!!

Katie and Mariah did an amazing job doing both the hair and make-up for me (the bride) and my 3 bridesmaids. I love the look they were able to achieve on each of us bringing our natural beauty out without it feeling caked on. I do not wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis so they helped achieve that "natural" makeup look perfectly for me. They both brought such a calming, optimistic vibe to getting ready. Katie also made sure to secure my heavy cathedral length veil and ease my nerves about it falling off- it stayed on and didn't move until I took it off at the reception. I did my hair and makeup trial with Katie and she is so easy to work with. She lets you knows she's very open to critiques since what's most important is me being happy on the day- no critiques were needed since she was able to achieve the vision I wanted from the start. At the trial I was venting to Katie about the hiccups I was experiencing while planning the wedding, specifically not solidifying a place to get ready and without hesitation offered her studio up to us as an option if we needed it, without any extra cost. Thankfully we figured things out elsewhere, but it was a huge relief having that back-up option. Both Katie and Mariah were so sweet and professional. They were on time and ready to go the entire time getting ready. I am beyond happy with the end results of working with them! Hire them!!! They are the best, I cannot thank them enough.

Katie and her team did an amazing job on my bridal hair and makeup as well as my mom and bridal party. I really wanted a natural and romantic look for our wedding. I met with Katie for my bridal trial and she captured my vision. Katie even changed up my look so I could take my engagement photos after the trial. Book Katie now!!!

Book Katie for your wedding now! You will not regret it. But try to book her a year in advance because her and her team get booked up quickly!! Katie and her assistant made me look and feel so beautiful on my wedding day! I also pampered my bridesmaids and my mom with makeup and hair styling and they absolutely loved it. It was definitely one of our favorite parts of the day!! Katie is so talented. She knows exactly what kind of makeup and hair to do to bring out the natural beauty in her brides and bridesmaids. She arrived to my mom's house on time and went straight to work. She was communicative throughout the entire process. I also completed a hair and makeup trial with her and she was so patient with me. She did three different types of hair and different makeup because I was so unsure about the look that I wanted. All of the hair styles looked so great, it made it hard to choose. She took a ton of photos of me during the makeup trial so I had the opportunity to look back at them and make a final decision in my own time. I am so glad that I hired Katie and her team, I felt like a princess and looked like one too!

Definitely go with Beauty & the Beach for your hair & makeup needs! Katie and her assistant did a wonderful job on hair & makeup for my wedding day and everything lasted the whole day. All my ladies were extremely pleased with their "natural" but glam gorgeous makeup. Communication with Katie was super easy from the first encounter, to the preview and the day of, she made everything easier for me and I didn't have to stress. Beauty & The Beach will make you feel incredibly special

Beauty & The Beach was a fantastic choice for my wedding day. They were super attentive and responsive for all the lead up and were so thoughtful in ensuring they understood my style and desires for my hair and makeup. My lead artist was Amanda Martinez and she was a DREAM – so talented, so kind and so wonderful. I remember thinking at my makeup preview that I wanted to grab a drink with her! Ha. She was so good at bringing my vision to life and worked with me when there were minor changes I wanted to make to my makeup or hair in real-time. She was also super thorough in the makeup/hair trial (which I would highly recommend doing) and requested notes from me around how well it all held up over time, any changes I wanted after spending the day with it, etc. – she was attentive to my notes and addressed them while doing my makeup/hair on the big day which I appreciated. Her entire team was stellar, and they made my bridesmaids feel so special. Everyone’s hair and makeup looked phenomenal and was done in a timely manner / on schedule. They setup in our hotel room and were super chill and fun to hang around with. Everyone had nothing but amazing things to say and I am so thankful I went with Beauty & The Beach for my big day.

Beautiful Executed Vintage Glam

When I was first looking for a hair-and-makeup vendor in 2019, I saw Beauty and the Beach listed as a preferred vendor for our venue (Long Beach Museum of Art). I initially considered them because I was looking for a studio who could execute “natural glam” makeup (I didn’t want anything too over-the-top) and could also do braids (even though I ended up not going with braids for my final look, it was an initial consideration).

For my makeup trial, I drove down to San Juan Capistrano to their studio, where my lead artist was Katie, the owner. I told Katie that I was looking for a vintage glam hair and makeup look, and she did an excellent job of executing on it. Katie is really pleasant to be around and worked with me to finalize the look through the addition of color choices that I included.

On the day of the wedding, Katie brought 2 artists with her to Long Beach for the nine services that were to be provided that day. They all wore masks at the bride’s request, and contributed to the fun “getting-ready” atmosphere (and also brought some delicious cronuts). Everyone remained on schedule, and all the ladies were finished by the time they needed to head to the wedding venue. Katie perfectly executed my hair and makeup, even given last-minute changes to the look. She also allowed me to use lipstick that I owned, which was very useful since I was able to reapply it over the course of the evening.

Everything was very convenient, and Katie was also flexible and accommodating with the timeline of payment. Prices were very reasonable and I was extremely satisfied with the quality of the services and would recommend them to future brides.

The perfect makeup artist

Katie and her team were truly the best makeup artists I had ever had the pleasure of working with. Katie responded to my emails often same day, and in person she continued to go above and beyond. She executed multiple makeup looks, and helped me pinpoint what style I wanted for my big day. She was funny and personable, highly professional, and truly made my bridesmaids and I feel at ease and most importantly, truly beautiful. Beauty and the Beach was a huge blessing for me, especially at a time when wedding planning is so uncertain (thanks Covid)! Couldn’t recommend Beauty and the Beach more- absolutely wonderful people and even better makeup!

Katie and her Beauty and the Beach team were amazing! First, she hung in there with us through all the Covid uncertainty and remained wonderfully positive, flexible, and reliable as plans for daughter’s wedding day changed and changed again. BEYOND amazing!

Words cannot even explain how happy Lucy and the Beauty and the Beach team made me feel on my wedding day! Because of her, I was calm, relaxed and had so much fun getting ready with my bridesmaids! I had a trial with Lucy and it was beyond fun! She asked for inspo pictures and worked her magic. The morning of my wedding Lucy was right on time even a little early. Everyone looked AMAZING and they couldn’t believe how natural the airbrush looked! She was so on schedule and I was so calm all morning because I knew I was in such great hands. Our makeup looked great all night long without even needing a touchup. I can’t recommend Beauty and the Beach enough, Lucy is so talented at her craft and you can tell she really loves what she does (plus shes super fun to work with!!) Professional, kind, generous!

I had a hair and makeup preview with Katie at her salon, and she was amazing! Right away my mom and I loved her welcoming energy, professionalism, and friendliness. She was thoughtful about asking me questions — both about what I wanted on the big day and about my fiancé and life in general. You can tell she knows her stuff and has a ton of experience making brides and their loved ones feel excited and comfortable. She was also really open to feedback and ideas, which I appreciated. I ended up hiring a friend of one of my family member's to do my hair and makeup for the wedding, but I'd love to go back to Katie to get my hair or makeup done for another event!

Amazing services!

Choosing Beauty and the Beach to do my entire bridal parties hair and makeup for my wedding day was one of the best decisions I made. Noemi was so sweet and accommodating to my preferences during my hair/ makeup trial, which made me feel comfortable and put me at ease. On the day of my wedding, her and her team did my hair and makeup, 9 bridesmaids hair and makeup, 2 mothers hair and makeup. They were on time, worked quickly (which is a must for such a large party) and did flawless work. I will be using them for all my makeup needs in the future and recommending them to everyone!

Gorgeous natural, beautiful wedding hair and makeup!

Hair and makeup was super important to me for our wedding day. Not only for myself, but my bridesmaids. I personally wear very little/natural makeup so I knew I wanted to look like the best version of my self, but still MYSELF! I've seen so many brides/bridesmaids that just look overworked and un-natural. When I first emailed Katie the owner of Beauty and Beach I was pleased to find her pricing easily accessible on her website and via our conversation. She was so nice and fun! I decided to use her as a "trial" for my engagement photos before booking her for our wedding. What a treat it was! She listened to my vision, made me feel super beautiful while still looking myself and was quick and easy to work with. I immediately booked her for our wedding. I think had my wedding trial with her 3 months before the big day. Again, she listened to everything I said, and despite my short hair, gave me a beautiful updo that looked timeless and stunning! Needless to say, on my wedding day I felt like a bride all thanks to Katie. Her assistant Naomi made my bridesmaids look just as beautiful and kept us on schedule and feeling happy the morning of. The icing on the cake was all of the compliments I got on my hair and makeup during the wedding. Thank you Katie for making my bridal dreams come true!

Katie and her team were simply amazing!! I used Beauty and the Beach for my wedding in August. Katie was very responsive and professional. I usually do not like having my hair and make-up done. I've never been big in to hair and makeup, so I never know how to describe what I want when I have it done. Therefore, I was amazed at my trial when Katie got everything exactly how I wanted on the first try.

For the morning of my wedding, there were 12 women (myself included) getting both hair and makeup done. Katie and her team (3 other women) were so efficient, friendly, and talented. Every single one of us was thrilled with how our hair and makeup came out. I feel like that is saying a lot because there is usually always someone who is not happy. They were so great at listening to what we wanted and kept saying if we wanted anything changed to let them know. I really appreciate how accommodating and professional they were.

Thank you for making us all look so beautiful! I would highly recommended Beauty and the Beach!

Lucy was an absolute dream to work with! Through all of our interactions she was always prompt, sweet, thoughtful, and professional. She took extra time during our preview to get to know me and be sure she understood my vision for wedding hair and makeup. I usually wear very minimal makeup, so it was important to me that the look be natural but still special and different. She made a point to remember personal details from our conversations and ask about them each time we were in touch.

On the wedding day, Lucy and her team were prompt (they even beat us to the hotel!) and kept everything running on schedule. They were incredibly talented, and everyone who had hair and/or makeup done was thrilled with their look! Lucy took extra time to adjust a few things and make sure everything was perfect before I left for photos. She was such a sweet, calming presence on the day of. Lucy’s thoughtfulness, skill, professionalism, humor, and kindness are an amazing combination, and I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a hair and makeup artist for their wedding day! Katie and her crew are FANTASTIC!! I have worked with Beauty and the Beach in other weddings as a bridesmaid and have loved what they do every time! I knew that I wanted them to do my bridal hair and makeup for my big day. I got married on a very rainy day and Katie assured me the entire time that the rain was no biggie and everything was going to be perfect. She made me feel so comfortable and on top of that her hair and makeup skills are superb! The hair and makeup preview before the wedding was SO much fun and exciting to see how my hair and makeup would look on the big day. My mother-in-law did a preview too and was over the moon for Katie's work and Katie in general! I wish I could give more than 5 stars! Katie is amazing! I've never felt more beautiful than on my wedding day. I loved that my makeup was more natural looking and that they use individual lashes instead of strips( and it's included in the makeup price!). My hair and makeup stayed perfectly all day and night long. The other artists did a beautiful job on all my girls and were super friendly as well. I am also so thankful I booked Katie because she's so fun to talk to and also calming at the same time. I wasn't feeling that great the morning of my wedding, but as soon as I sat in Katie's chair to get my makeup done all was great again. Thanks Katie!

Beauty and the Beach OC did a great job on my hair and make up. I also hired them to do my bridesmaids and mother of the bride hair/ make up. Noemi from Beauty and the Beach made all of my bridal dreams come true. My hair was romantic and bridal but still very me. I had been pretty nervous about it and she was so patient and sweet. Katie and Shawna did a BEAUTIFUL job for my and my bridesmaids' hair & makeup. I needed 9 hair, 3 makeup, and hair&makeup for the bride and they did everything super fast and everyone looked amazing!! I got so many compliments on my updo (beautiful bun on the side with braids). I loved how natural she made my makeup look. Airbrush covered all blemishes on my face and made me look like my skin was super soft and healthy. Thank you for allowing me to feel so beautiful on my wedding day! I can't believe her prices are so affordable because the quality of her work is OUTSTANDING :)

Katie is also extremely personable and you can tell she is just such a genuine person. On the week of my wedding, I had my hair&makeup preview on Wednesday, hair done for a cocktail reception on Friday, and hair&makeup done for the wedding done on Saturday so I spent a significant amount of time with her that week. It was so fun talking to her that it made getting ready so much more fun for me.

I'm so glad I found Beauty and the Beach. I was unhappy with my trials from other vendors and was stuck searching for a stylist a couple weeks before my wedding. Thankfully Heather and Katie were available! Heather created an awesome updo giving my very thin hair lots of volume and texture. Katie stepped in to help Heather with hair and makeup for the rest of my family members on my wedding day. Thank you ladies!!

Katie and her team are absolutely amazing! They handled hair and make-up for my wedding (myself, 7 bridesmaids, mom, and mother-in-law), and everything was gorgeous. I wanted a really natural look and a soft updo, and Katie was able to complete my vision exactly. The trial was a great part of the services, as I got to see a few different hair options and an idea of what my make-up would look like the day of. They were so pleasant on the morning of the wedding and everyone's make-up lasted all day long. Can't recommend them enough!

Katie was absolutely AMAZING!!! She was so great when I decided to change my hair completely just a week before the wedding due to high humidity reports. It came out better than I had imagined in a low updo with braids and curls! Her airbrush makeup is FLAWLESS!! I couldn't believe how amazing I looked!! My girls' and moms' hair was perfect and makeup looked fantastic! I can't believe she and her assistant were able to make everyone look so great. Not only was her work great, but she was so down to earth and easy to talk to which made the getting ready process so fun! I'd highly recommend Katie and her girls to help make you look and feel stunning on your big day!!!

Katie is a total pro. I actually had originally booked someone else who backed out, and I reached out to Katie as soon as it happened. Serendipitously, she was available on my day due to a cancelled trip, and I am SO fortunate it worked out that way. She responded to all my emails and questions quickly in the days leading up. My mom and I both went for a trial about a month before, and we knew I had made the right call booking Katie. We both looked FANTASTIC and she did my hair exactly how I had imagined it. Our makeup was flawless. We looked like ourselves but glammed up, which is the exact look i wanted. She and one of her girls (Lucy) came to my mom's house the day of the wedding and arrived on time and ready to go. They were both so much fun to have around while we were getting ready. We had the music going and great conversation. She got us out the door right when we needed to, which is really important when trying to stay on schedule. We all looked absolutely stunning. Everyone was commenting on our hair and makeup. I would definitely recommend Katie and her crew for your big day!

Beauty and the Beach is my FAVORITE glam squad out there!! In the past, I didn't like getting my hair and make up done and ended up changing it every time, but Katie and her team are the only ones I've found who do it perfectly how I like it. I love how they make the hair and make up both look somewhat natural, yet "done up" for the occasion. They did my sister-in-law's wedding, a few friends' wedding, and my own wedding. I'd use them for anything I need to get glammed up for and would HIGHLY recommend them for anyone's special day!

Noemi did a fabulous job for me and my mom on my wedding day. She was funny, thoughtful, and was a great listener. She made my mom and I look like ourselves, only with a little more oomph! It was just what I was hoping for and felt very fortunate to have found her. My makeup stayed the whole night and my hair looked beautiful into the next day for brunch. Thanks Noemi!

Heather was a phenomal makeup artist with a very easy-going and flexible attitude that took all the stress out of worrying how I'd look on my wedding day. My makeup was exactly as I'd hoped and stayed exactly in place all day, looking great in all the photos. Her studio/shop was a fun place to get ready (since my small venue did not have a dressing area) and sip on mimosas before the festivites began!

I was referred to beauty and the beach by our venue/planner. After having some bad experiences with other make-up artists never getting back to me and not feeling professional they were a refreshing change of pace. We got Noemi who is adorable and amazing, she did a preview with me and my mom and worked with us for about 4 hours until I loved my hair (I had something very specific in mind). On the day of she and her assistant were on time and totally prepared, they did an AMAZING job, my hair and make-up were stunning and I couldn't have been happier. Thank you Noemi!

I had such a lovely experience with Beauty and the Beach! The reason I had such a great experience is all because of Katie, the owner. She is such a kind person with genuine intentions and truly cares about making you feel like a beautiful bride for the most special day of your life. I hired her and she brought along 3 other artists to do me, my bridal party and mom's hair and makeup (8 of us total and they got us all ready in 4 hours). We all looked absolutely stunning that day. Katie always replied to emails promptly, was always incredibly friendly, and made us all feel so relaxed and comfortable when we were getting ready. I would recommend her in a heartbeat and she is worth every penny. You will not regret choosing her to do your hair and makeup.

Katie is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've recommended her to two people and have had her do my hair and make up twice. One for being a MOH and the other for my wedding.

She has a great personality that will ease your nerves on your special day. She's kind, sweet, comforting, HILARIOUS, and most of all, she's quick and truly knows what she's doing. She's detail oriented and won't leave until you're perfection.

A very honest person with true kindness and HIGH END talent.

If I was in another wedding and the bride was using a different vendor -- i'd go to Katie on my own. Yes, she's that incredible.

Prices are comparable too! No complaints at all.

I had to go through almost FIVE wedding hair and makeup stylist. It was absolutely ridiculous how many stylist wouldn't respond to my messages about setting up trials. It wasn't until my best friend Shari's wedding that I found the perfect woman for the job. Katie and her team are true artist of their trade. Katie made me feel so beautiful on my wedding day and at my trials. She was so easy to work with and get creative with. Not only was she professional, but it felt like hanging out with one of my best girlfriends. She is laid back and great at what she does.

If you haven't picked a stylist yet for your wedding, look no further because your most likely wasting your time with anyone else. Beauty and the Beach are the BEST!!!

Katie and her team were a joy to work with! Katie was very responsive and happily answered all of my questions about Beauty and the Beach’s hair and makeup offerings. My stylist was Noemi, and she was wonderful! I planned my wedding from out of state and corresponded with her for months leading up to my wedding, and she was so patient with all of my questions and ideas. Closer to the wedding, I asked for a second stylist for my cousin (matron-of-honor), and Katie quickly secured another member of her team for us. My cousin's stylist was Lucy, who was also fantastic! Noemi and Lucy completely understood what we wanted and offered their own creative suggestions as well, and we couldn't have been happier with the result! Our hair and makeup turned out just perfectly, and I'm so glad I chose Beauty and the Beach for my wedding. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for professional hair and makeup!

I am so pleased I went with Beauty and the Beach. They came recommended by 3 friends so I thought I probably couldn't go wrong. They are pricey, let's get that out there. But I found that EVERYONE for pro hair and make up was pricey. I considered having a friend do my hair and make up but boy would that have been a HUGE mistake. My hair came out so intricate and gorgeous, I still don't even know how she did it!

The hair and make up trial was fabulous, although it does take a while so make sure you eat before! She really listened to my concerns and ideas and came up with such a gorgeous look. Soooo many people that day complimented my hair. Mariah, the girl that did my hair and make up, and her team arrived at my hotel on time and immediately got to work setting up their stations and starting on their girls hair. All the girls had a great time chatting away with their ladies and everyone in my party turned out so beautiful. Even my sister-in-law changed her mind after she saw how everyone was turning out and had them do her make up when she originally said no!

Mariah was very professional and took so much time on me. I truly felt so special. Getting ready is one of the best parts of ANY fancy evening, so I definitely recommend hiring someone to take care of all that for you on your BIG DAY! You will not be disappointed with Beauty and the Beach!

I worked with Heather Puhek from Beauty and the Beach, and from my preview to my wedding day she was amazing: responsive, funny, kind, knowledgeable, and totally real - just so great. I always knew the pricing, and she gave really clear instructions on how to come prepared on the day. She even sent me an email to forward on to my bridal party - with instructions for them on how to have their hair, face and how they can pay. Not romantic, I know - but I promise, on the day-of these are the things you don't want to have to work through or deal with. :) On the day of my wedding there were 8 women and 1 flower girl that needed hair and makeup, and between her and the two other lovely ladies that were with her (sorry I can't remember their names), they did an amazing job with everyone and their different hair and makeup styles and requests. Turns out the getting-ready portion really does speed up time a little bit ;) and we started pushing up against the time when I needed to be in my dress and ready for pre-ceremony photos. Heather remained cool and calm, directly people where they needed to be without being rude or confrontational (she's clearly dealt with women on a wedding day! haha). Oh, and the week of the wedding I told her that we would not be able to get into the venue as early as she had hoped - but she rolled with it, and just staffed up accordingly. Amazing. As for the makeup: flawless, that's all I can say. There was never a moment when I, or any of the bridal party or MOB, felt like we had been transformed into people we weren't - she is just THAT good at accentuating what is already there. By the way, airbrush is absolutely worth it - and contrary to my uneducated first-impression of the stuff, is much lighter than traditional foundation. Honestly, when I sweat I looked like I was glowing. I felt absolutely, 100% beautiful - like from the inside out. I would recommend Heather, or anyone really, from Beauty and the Beach. :) Thanks Heather!!!

I would not have had my wedding be complete without using Beauty and the Beach. Katie and her team had done my hair and makeup for 3 other weddings I was in. When it came my turn to get married, I knew I needed to use her services. She is so sweet and they always do such a great job! Everyone in my wedding looked so gorgeous! I booked Beauty and the Beach for hair for my wedding day and could not be more thrilled with that decision! Noemi from Beauty and the Beach was our primary stylist, and I knew I was in good hands after my trial with her. I never thought I would be the bride who needed a long trial, but Noemi, in her patience and kindness, sweetly took me through three different styles until I was happy with my dream wedding look! She was easy to talk with, the right personality for warmth and calming on an overwhelming day, and very talented at what she does! The week before our wedding, Noemi also contacted me letting me know she was able to secure a second stylist for our group, which was extremely helpful in making our timeline start a few hours later on wedding day! The second stylist, Katie, was also wonderful and every one of my girls (and my mom, who also got her hair done) remarked on what a fantastic job they both did! They each captured exactly what each girl was looking for, and everyone's hair stayed through the night. We are so grateful for the work they did for us and I would highly recommend them!

Hi,

I used Beauty and the Beach (Katie) for my engagement photos and just knew she was the one for me and my bridal party for the wedding day. She is very compassionate, worked with me on 2 potential choices for styles, and was very down to earth. I made arrangements for her and her team to come to my hotel suite on the big day to do the hair and makeup for myself, my 4 bridesmaids, flower girls, and my mother-in-law. They were on time exactly as stated, got all of us done exactly on timeline, and were also very tactful with the different tastes and opinions of all of my bridal party, since some members are very opinionated! My remaining single bridesmaid said she would book her if she ever got married, because everyone looked fantastic! Several of my guests said my makeup was beautiful and very natural looking.

What a great experience my makeup was. Neome made my family, friends and I feel so welcome and at ease on what could have been a stressful day. She did such an amazing job. Stop look no further. Make your wedding checklist smaller by booking these ladies today. They made everything a breeze the day of the wedding. For how nervous you end up getting, these girls arrive and get the day rolling. Before you know it - it's go time and you look like a goddess! We all enjoyed full hair and air brush make-up. Beauty and the Beach is the BEST choice for your wedding hair and makeup! Katie and her team are absolute joys to work with! My trial with Katie was so comfortable and easy. We worked together until it was absolutely perfect and then she took so many pictures and notes. On my wedding day she referred to these so she could make sure to re-capture that. Then she had ideas on how to improve on it and make it even better.

Most importantly, she fit right in with my girlfriends. It was like having another best friend there hanging out on my wedding day. She's got such an upbeat and hilarious personality. I wish I had more reasons to get my hair and makeup done!

Katie and Mariah came to the house I was staying in for my wedding and did hair and makeup for me and all six of my bridesmaids. They were AMAZING! Not only were they professional and extremely talented, but they were fun people to hang around with for the day. They felt like part of the group and it was fun to chat with them as we all got ready. Overall, it was a relaxing and awesome experience getting made up for the best day of my life.

I felt more beautiful that day than ever before because of Katie's ridiculous talent, but I still managed to look like myself, just a better more polished version. I never wear makeup and neither do most of my bridesmaids, yet, everyone looked natural and beautiful. People did a mix of airbrush and traditional. I would go with the airbrush even if you aren't used to wearing makeup it just makes your skin so even and pretty looking without looking over the top.

Our hair was also amazing and my bridesmaids all had a mix of curly, straight, long and short hair that Katie and Mariah were able to make a unique, fun and pretty look for everyone. My whole look turned out even better than it looked at the trial which I didn't think was possible because I loved the trial so much. My hair and makeup and all my bridesmaid's hair and makeup stayed looking great the whole day and night and into the wee hours of the morning after a lot of extreme dancing!

Katie was super responsive and easy to communicate with and was flexible. The trial was really fun because she listened to my ideas but also gave her advice and creativity to help create a hairstyle and makeup that was perfect for what I was envisioning. I would definitely recommend Beauty and the Beach to anyone looking to get their hair and makeup done for a wedding or special event. I am already thinking of what other events I could use them for, they are that amazing! Seriously, don't look anywhere else no where can be as great as Beauty and the Beach!

I cannot say enough about Katie and her team at Beauty and the Beach. I am admittedly hard to please when it comes to my hair and makeup and Katie blew me away with what she could do. I wanted two trial runs (bridezilla much?) and Katie was so accomodating and never made me feel like the crazy person I was! I had 20 services altogether for myself, my bridal party & family, and Katie and her team arrived on time and got us done on schedule! Everyone looked absolutely gorgeous without exception! We were all getting so many compliments on our hair and makeup all night. I wish I lived closer because I'd go to Katie for all my events!

The Beauty and the beach team is amazing. All of my bridesmaids decided at the last minute to get services with hair and makeup and Katie was able to call in another stylist and get all of us taken care of. My hair and makeup were PERFECT. I loooooove looooooove loooooove Katie and her team at Beauty and the Beach in San Clemente. I fell in love at my hair trial. Katie is the BEST!!!! She was sooo easy to talk to and so much fun and made us all look beautiful. We had such a great morning getting ready for our Big Day- my bridesmaids looooved Katie and the gorgeous hair and makeup that she did for us all. I went with Heather P. at Beauty and the Beach for my makeup (with airbrush) and hair and I'm so happy I did!

Heather is the sweetest person ever with a totally down-to-Earth attitude and a great sense of humor. From our first few minutes of chatting, I felt like we had been friends forever. It's really important to be able to trust your wedding MUA/stylist and I definitely did! She did not have an ego at all and willingly changed whatever it is about the look that I didn't love. I also had a photo shoot afterwards with Rani Lu (with whom they share a studio) and she came up with two more unique, fun looks for me that were very flattering. I went with airbrushed makeup, and my makeup lasted all day (both on the trial day and wedding day), even through people touching my face and hugs.

I didn't want to look like a completely different person on my wedding day but I did want to look like a better, amped up version and she definitely delivered. Unlike some MUAs (not Beauty and the Beauty), she used individual lashes which she painstakingly applied to make them all even and "natural". I'm used to wearing various MAC lashes in strips so I was impressed by how good the individual clusters looked.

My photographer, who has more experience with bridal prep than I do obviously, said he really like Heather and she was very cooperative with the photo-taking, offering to move and reposition to get just the right angles and shots. He also noted that she was very speedy (but without skimping on quality).

If I ever needed to get dolled up again for photos, I wouldn't hesitate to contact Heather again. She was absolutely wonderful to work with and such a calming, personable presence in what could otherwise have been a very stressful point in the day. I would highly highly highly recommend her to anyone that needs a MUA for their wedding (or any other special occasion) day.

Oh, and I LOVE the fact that Beauty and the Beach accepts online payments. It's so convenient to see all the rates and pay everything ahead of time, rather than dealing with it the day of or sending a check via mail and waiting for it to clear.

I had a wonderful experience with Kati!I booked Kati to do bridal makeup for myself, my mother and nine bridesmaids. I was amazed that Kati and the two girls she brought with her were able to get everyone finished on time. Her work on me and my bridesmaids was fantastic! Everyone looked AMAZING! I wanted to look natural, not too made-up but I trusted her expertise. She made me feel at ease and was so easy to talk to. She turned me into a (natural looking) rock star for the day!

Katie is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I was recommended to Katie by a friend who was a Maid of Honor for her sister's wedding and used Katie and said she was completely awesome and her look was exactly what she wanted. My friend was absolutely right! Katie will work with you until your look is perfect and exactly what you want, with a very cheerful and totally understanding attitude. My mom and I had a preview with Katie and we loved her so much and felt so confident in her skill. Then on the actual day we managed to look even better. She can do anything! The morning of the wedding was so much fun, we all felt like Katie and her assistant Alex were one of the girls. My bridesmaids looked absolutely, ridiculously gorgeous and they all felt confident and amazing. I have actually never taken the time to write a review for anyone or anyhing; however Beauty and the Beach was so amazing that I had to. We all used them for my best friends wedding and our hair and makeup looking stunning and lasted all day!

I can't say enough about Beauty and the Beach OC. Katie and her team are very talented and I would recommend them to any bride looking for wedding hair and makeup. I didn't do a preview and was a little bit nervous about that. It didn't matter. My hair looked beautiful and was exactly what I had envisioned. My airbrushed makeup was the finishing touch. There aren't words for how beautiful I felt when everything was done and I put on my dress.

Beauty and the Beach was worth every penny. They were excellent with children and remained kind and patient despite the surrounding chaos of everyone preparing for the wedding. I would recommend booking Katie and her team along with Rani Lu Photography, as the two companies share a studio and frequently work together. Having them coordinate made the day that much easier.

Love, love, love Beauty and the Beach. I first met Katie at my trial appointment. Katie looked at the pictures I brought and discussed my thoughts before she started. Then as she was working or trying different things she would get my opinion until everything was just how I wanted it. I felt really good after leaving the trial.

The day of the wedding her and her team were awesome! They showed up on time (a huge plus in my book) and they got along with everyone very well. They really seemed like a part of our group of family and friends! Not to mention the work that they did. Everyone looked gorgeous and was happy with how her hair and make-up turned out. I was ecstatic because I felt I looked even better than at the trial. And best of all, my hair, which was in an updo, stayed intact all night (another definite plus, especially considering how hot it was).

I'm so grateful to Katie and her team for their positive attitude, their friendly personalities, and they great job they did!

Katie was awesome. I had no idea what I wanted when I walked into the preview, but it only took one try for both hair and make-up and it was perfect. She is so friendly and easy-going, and I felt so comfortable with her right away. On my wedding day, we had 10 girls getting hair done and 8 getting make-up done. Katie brought in three associates, and between the three of them, my ladies never looked better. My hair looked FABULOUS, and my make-up so natural. It lasted all night. I think i was done around noon, and at 11pm it was still there!! :) I highly recommend Beauty and the Beach.

I absolutely loved working with Heather from Be Yourself Bride. She was so flexible with me on so many levels. I was able to send her pictures of what I wanted and she performed beautifully. Katie is absolutely amazing when it comes to hair and make-up. I usually do not wear a lot of make-up, or take a lot of time to do my hair up nice every day, but Katie worked her magic and me feel like a princess. AWESOME service, great person, beautiful hair and makeup, great value. Obviously there are lots of expenses in planning a wedding and the costs were getting me nervous. By luck I found Katie though searching for hair and makeup artists in San Clemente (where I got married) and I couldn't be MORE grateful!! Katie was an awesome person that I immediately clicked with. I went in for my preview and she immediately understood my vision for my special day and did my hair and makeup perfect. I was SOOOOO sad to have to take it off and out (I didn't want my then fiance to see my wedding look) and excited for what was in store for the big day.
Katie is such a sweetheart and really talented to give you the look you want for your day. I was so stressed that we couldn't arrive at our wedding venue early enough to get all of the girls in our party ready, so she opened up her studio without hesitation to all of us on our weddding day to get ready! She was so nice to let us have a mini pre-party and relax on the big day. I was so grateful!!! Her studio is so cute and perfect setup to get ready. All of my girlfriends raved about what an amazing job she did.
The look she gave me was flawless and natural. My makeup withstood all of my tears that flowed down my face when I cried happy tears throughout my wedding. MY MAKEUP NEVER FADED! It was amazing. And when the time came to take it off, it was not difficult. My hair also withstood they hours of dancing! It looked so natural and beautiful.
Honestly I have to give her a HUGE thanks for making her services affordable. There are so many hair and makeup artists that absolutely RACK UP the prices and overcharge just because it's a wedding. It's so unfair. Katie can honestly charge A LOT higher price because her services are so good, but she makes it affordable. She is SO WORTH IT! (and then some) Thank you Katie! You made me feel so beautiful on my wedding day!

Heather Puhek did my hair and makeup for my wedding. I don't live in California, so I had to coordinate my wedding from far away. Heather and her stylist worked with me from afar and were very accommodating and helpful. The day of my wedding was awesome. When it came to the hair and make-up part of my wedding planning, this is where I actually had an 'oh no!' moment. I had originally been booked with another vendor and had gone through a trial and put down the deposit and all. About 3 months before the wedding date, I received an email from that vendor telling me that she accidentally double booked my day and she had booked the other bride first, which meant she had to drop me.

I was devastated and frustrated, not to mention it was at the time I was out of the country for 3 weeks. I was stuck and had limited ability to contact other vendors. I began to frantically email vendors, some which are on this website. I explained my situation and how I had already budgeted for the hair and make-up based on my previous vendor. Many of them had little sympathy, and had no problem charging me double what I was previously being charged. I was quite overwhelmed, until I came across the Beauty and the Beach website. I contacted them, and Katie responded immediately with kindness and compassion. We did the preliminary discussions over email, until I was able to get back to the US. Katie was expecting a child around the date of my wedding, so she put Heather in charge of my wedding day. They were so great, and even worked with me on prices to help me come close to my original budget.

Also, at the time of wedding planing I was not living in Orange County. Heather was so kind to meet me on a weekend, which are reserved for weddings, to do my hair trial. She fit in my trial on the weekend that my mother came to California from the east coast. Heather is super personal and put me at ease. I brought in a picture and an Idea of what I wanted, and she worked with me to get the hair style just right. I left my trial knowing that she would not let walk out of the bridal suite without loving my hair and make-up.

When it came to the wedding day, Heather and her team were on time and ready to get to work. I had 9 bridesmaids, my mother, and I all getting hair and make-up done. They started at 9am and had everybody done by 2 pm. I was quite impressed! The entire team was personable and fun, which contributed to the fun and relaxing mood on my special day. I had an array of bridesmaids, from ones who love make-up to others who rarely wear it. Heather and her team made every woman look and feel beautiful, but in a very natural way. The hairstyles were all different and amazing. And my hair... I loved it!!! The make-up I had on had me looking like me, but at my best- exactly what I wanted for my big day! Overall, I think they did an amazing job and I suggest Beauty and the Beach to every bride I know who is getting married in southern California. :)

Katie from Beauty and the Beach provided bridal hair and make-up services for me, and also hair services for my mom. We couldn't have made a better choice, and we thank our lucky stars that she was available for my wedding day!

Katie has experience with all types of hairstyles and will work with you to find the perfect look. She has TONS of experience with with weddings, and on the morning of, she helped us avoid a few potential disasters for our wedding even in completed unrelated areas, i.e., she suggested that we don't hang my dress from the fire sprinkler of my hotel room to photograph it (this should be obvious, but can be very tempting to do!) to avoid what she has seen happen in previous weddings.

The morning before a wedding can make a bride feel entirely anxious and I can tell you that Katie put me at ease, just chatting away and keeping me focused on the most exciting day of my life. Thank you Katie and Beauty and the Beach!

Katie and Beauty and the Beach were amazing for my wedding hair and make-up! Not only is she super cool (and her staff), but she actually listens to what you want and can do it! I brought in several examples to my trial and we tweeked some things after for the day of...it turned out amazing! Everyone kept telling me how gorgeous my hair (and make-up) were and asking who did it.

Even my bridesmaids who at times can be difficult to please or vague in what they want were so happy with Beauty and the Beach. Katie made the payment super easy as well and was really responsive, even when she had just had a baby!! They also came out to Temecula for the wedding so we all got to hang out at a house and get done up...even the mom's got their make-up and hair done. It all turned out fabulous, I wouldn't change a thing!

I had some bad experiences with other makeup and hair stylists, simply trying to schedule a preview with them. Katie and her girls did hair and makeup for my wedding, along with hair and makeup for my bridesmaids and hair for the mothers. Katie's team was extremely professional, and their friendly attitude helped calm everyone's nerves on my big day.

I wanted a more natural look on the makeup and Katie was able to make all of the girls absolutely stunning. Katie really listened at the hair and makeup trial and she accommodated every request I had.

I think booking my MUA and hair was the hardest decision I had to make when it came to planning my wedding. In the end I am so so so so happy I went with Beauty and the Beach I got to work with Niki and Mariah and they both did a wonderful job. My bridesmaids makeup and hair turned out gorgeous, as did mine if I do say so myself. My mom hadn't had her hair or makeup done in forever and she was so happy with the end result and felt and looked beautiful.

The look was natural, and glamorous all rolled into one. They arrived on time, got things moving quickly and we all still looked lovely by the end of the night. Their prices were extremely competitive and fair, but really I don't think you can put a price on having feeling beautiful on your wedding day. I would not hesitate to recommend Beauty and the Beach to other brides looking for hair and make up artist who travels to you. Katie is super sweet, professional, punctual and talented. She listend to exactly what I wanted to look like for my big day. She went out of her way to make everyone of us beyond satisfied. I would recommend any bride-to- be to use Katie and Beauty and the Beach for their wedding.I never felt more beautiful in my life! (My husband thought so too!)

Everything was fantastic about working with Katie, and most importantly my hair and makeup, as well as those of my bridesmaids, were amazing! Many of my guests commented specifically on how nice my makeup looked. I do not wear makeup daily and I was worried about looking overdone at my wedding, but that wasn't the case at all - Katie used airbrush makeup on me and it looked wonderfully natural, yet smoothed out my skin to look great. She even gave me extra lipgloss for the evening to retouch, and I bought lipliner from her to have as well. Katie was extremely professional, relatively quick at responding to emails, helped me set up a start time that worked for my photographer's itinerary for the day, traveled to the wedding site, and did a great job. I wore my hair half-down and curled and my 4 bridesmaids had their hair up, and each of our hair looked great and stayed for the whole day (pictures started at 12 noon, ended the night at 10pm). We have really different hair types, and she did great with all. I would also recommend doing a trial run just to figure out what you like - my fiance and I decided to skip the fake lashes after the trial, as we felt they were too much for me since I never wear makeup, but that was the only change I made. Great experience with Katie!

Heather from Beauty and the Beach did my hair and makeup. I had other people scheduled for trials but once I saw her work I knew I wanted to go with Heather. She really has the beachy natural romantic look down- we also the tried out the glamour polished look too. She can do it all and I love that she is so current and up on the trends! Heather was VERY patient with me while I tried to decide on the look I wanted and she is always aims to please her clients and delivers! She made me feel the most beautiful I have ever felt on my wedding day. I would definitely recommend Heather and Beauty and the Beach for hair and makeup to any brides in Orange County!

I have only great things to say about Heather Puhek and the Beauty and the Beach staff. As an event planner, I know the importance of hiring the right team of vendors who are not only reliable and professional, but also a genuine pleasure to work with. Heather was flexible with my busy schedule, and attentive to my needs and concerns as a bride, especially one who wasn't used to wearing a lot of makeup. My wedding day was definitely one where I felt naturally beautiful and stunning at the same time, and the value from this experience definitely exceeded the cost (which was beyond reasonable to start) hands down. Above all, Heather and her team of talented artists were so fun to work with and really set the tone for the rest of the day!

Katie was one of my favorite vendors. She did hair and makeup for my engagement photos and wedding day, as well as makeup for my mom and mother-in-law. She patiently listened to my thoughts, helping me try various things and remembering past feedback to incorporate on my wedding day. My hair and makeup stayed incredibly well the day of and photographed amazingly too. My mom and mom-in-law were also hesitant to have their makeup done as they were not used to wearing much, but Katie handled them beautifully and they both were so glad they used her services in the end. Their makeup was natural and complemented their styles perfectly. I highly recommend Katie, you will not be disappointed!!

I loved, LOVED my hair. Katie and her team were awesome. She transformed my stick-straight short hair into Charlize Theron Oscar-worthy waves and it stayed that way for 10 hours. Ten hours. I did not want to wash my hair.

Katie made me feel very comfortable during the trial session. I brought my camera and asked her to take photos during the session since my MOH could not come with me. I asked her if we can tone down the eye make-up and she did. She took photos of both looks. (Although once I got used to wearing it for the evening night out, I told her I liked how she did it originally and to keep it that way for my wedding)! I also tried the airbrush make-up during the trial and I liked it!

She made me look amazing on my wedding day - even better than the trial session! She also worked on my MOH, bridesmaid, mom, aunt and flower girl and they all looked great! Thank you Katie!!!

Katie did an awesome job! Working with her was wonderful. She was very responsive to emails and a pleasure to be with. I am so grateful to have found her for my wedding day. She helped make me and my bridesmaids look absolutely beautiful. If I ever need to have my makeup done again in the future I will absolutely be calling her again.
