Atwood Music Hall

Atwood Music Hall is a unique and historical wedding venue located in Madison, Wisconsin.

The Atwood Music Hall is undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation and will be available for wedding and private event bookings starting in June 2025 and onwards. Once open, it will be one of the most stunning spaces in Madison. Take advantage of discounted pre-opening rates while you can. Please reach out for tours and rental rates.

The AMH will be a thriving performance and event space capable of hosting seated wedding ceremonies for up to 350 guests and seated receptions for up to 297 guests. The hall is flexible and can accommodate smaller parties while maintaining its intimate vibe. If you just want to throw a really big party, the full capacity for standing-room-only receptions is up to 700 guests.

The venue will have two comfy, separate dressing room spaces for brides and grooms, each with its own bathroom. The catering space in the basement will provide vendors dedicated space to store and prepare food for guests.

The venue operates two parking lots within one block that can accommodate up to 108 cars, so guests don't have to stress about finding a spot on the street. The venue is very close to downtown, and many hotels will run shuttles upon request.

If you are looking for a traditional wedding ceremony, the Trinity Lutheran Church, directly across the street from the hall, can be rented for ceremonies. Afterward, guests can hop across the street for a reception at the AMH.

The building originally opened in 1932 as the new home of the Madison Gospel Tabernacle and held 1,000 parishioners for services and performances. In 1970, it became The Freedom House, an alternative school, and then in 1980, it became the home of another teaching institution, Operation Fresh Start, which remained there until 2019. The building is one of only a handful of structures in the region left standing to feature the unique, diamond-shaped Lamella roof construction.
