“What do you mean our wedding is not about us??? We’re the ones getting married!”

Of course your wedding is about you, but the real wedding is actually going on around you. The real wedding is not about the cake or the flowers or those pretty invitations you designed. While all of those things are nice and really add a touch of beauty to your wedding day, that’s not what your wedding is about.

Your wedding is about people. The people you’ve invited to share it with. It’s about the people you love, the people closest to you, and the people you want to share one of the most important days of your life with. That’s where the real wedding is and that is what I will capture for you.

Having your family and close friends at your wedding is very important to you. You may not see them as much as you would like or speak to them as often as you used to. Bringing them all together at once to celebrate your special day is a very powerful statement that says a lot about you. It gives you an opportunity to show your family and friends how you feel about them and how much it means to have them in your life. I get that.

Yes, I will take beautiful photos of the cake, the flowers, and all the pretty details you've chosen to add a personal touch to your wedding day, but my main focus will be on the people. Capturing your relationships with them and the relationships they share with each other is important to me. When you look back at your wedding photos you're going to remember what took place that day. More importantly, you're going to remember the people who were there to share it with you.
